Piper’s POV
Moments later, I heard a loud laugh from the other end of the phone. Megan laughed loudly. Maybe she was laughing at Jay’s warning. I already suspected this. She is not a woman who gives up easily when her desires are in her hands.
“Jessie, Jensen, let’s just sit there and let your dad take the call first,” I asked them. So, I took their hands, walked away from Jay and sat on the long chairs available along the aisle.
Throughout the conversation between Jay and Megan, I saw the look on Jay’s face unhappy. The tone of his voice seemed to hold emotions that were ready to explode like a volcano ready to spew out all the hot lava. It seems like their relationship hasn’t been all right. May there be a way out of the strangeness of the relationship between the three of us?
“Mom, did something happen? I think I heard someone yelling on the phone,” Jensen asked.
“Aunty Megan is on the phone and I think everything is all right. Are you sleepy?” I’m trying to divert the conversation. Jessie and Jensen shook their heads.
I didn’t want the kids to get involved in adult issues. I wanted them to stay happy.
“Umm, what if we go to the room now and let your father finish his business first? It’s late at night and the wind is blowing harder. I am afraid you’re sick. Ok?” I was trying to persuade.
Jessie looked sleepy. Sometimes her head was down and her eyes were closed. However, Jensen was stronger. He was more sensitive and aware of his surroundings. I have given birth to wonderful children, even though they had unique characters.
“Mom, are you sure you’re okay? There seems to be a problem,” Jensen asked.
I let out a deep breath, grabbed Jensen’s hand, and looked into his two eyes, which were as blue as the blue of the sea. “I’m sure everything will be resolved. Calm down. Come with me to our room and rest. Your sister is sleepy.”
Jensen turned and looked at Jessie, then replied, “Huft, she is indeed unreliable. But, I love her.”
I smiled at his words, then took his hand and Jessie’s hand to hurry away from there. Before I left, I gave Jay a signal. I told him that the kids and I would go to the room first. Jay nodded.
Long story short, the three of us were already in the room and lying together. Jessie and Jensen finally fell asleep alone, leaving me awake. I glanced at the wall clock continuously.
A few minutes ago, I texted Jay and told him that Jensen was in my room. And now an hour has passed, and yet Jay still has not returned. I couldn’t possibly leave the children asleep while the sea breeze was blowing harder and the wind hitting the balcony window. It sounded terrible.
“Jay, come back soon. What is his actual plan?” I asked in my heart.
Fatigue made me unable to stay awake longer. Finally, I fell asleep and the next morning, the reflection of the sun hitting my eyes made it open wide and wake up immediately. I saw Jensen and Jessie still sound asleep. However, there was something much more surprising. It turned out that Jay fell asleep next to my bed in a sitting position with his hands and head leaning against the bed.
What time did he get in here?
I gently patted his shoulder and hand while whispering in his ear, “Jay, Jay, lie down on the bed.”
Several times patting, he did not respond, until finally, a few minutes later, he moved and looked up. His eyes slowly opened, and he smiled. “You are awake.”
“Come up here and lie down. I want to go to the bathroom,” I said as I got out of bed.
However, the unexpected happened. Jay climbed onto the bed and laid me on the bed until my position was under his body. He held one of my hands and the other was on my lips, asking me to be quiet and not make noise so that the children would not wake up.
“Stt,” he said.
“Jay, what are you doing? Let go. I want to go to the bathroom,” I whispered.
“Just a minute. Give me a good morning kiss. Come on,” he said as if he were a child begging for something.
“Jay, there are kids here. What if they wake up?” I asked.
“Then do it quickly. Come on,” he asked again.
It was our second kiss after our first kiss seven years ago. A sweet kiss in the morning that didn’t seem to want to end soon. His wet lips wet mine and his tongue danced in my mouth. I heard his rapid breathing in my ears. We were lulled into intimacy until a voice roused us from intimacy.
“Mom, Dad, are we bothering you?” Jessie asked. And it turned out that they were awake. Their eyes were wide open even as Jensen was looking at me and Jay.
“Oh, no-no disturb. You’re awake. What if we take a shower now and get ready for breakfast?” I asked the kids. They nodded.
“Ok, Jensen and I are going to our room now. See you later,” Jay said. Jensen got out of bed and took Jay by the hand.
Long story short, it was our last day on a cruise. In the afternoon, the ship returned to the dock.
On the way home, Jay suddenly said, “Piper, come with me to the mansion. We have something to work out with Megan. Let Lily take care of Jensen and Jessie. I want the matter between the three of us to be resolved quickly.”
“Is it that easy to finish? I don’t know why I feel uncomfortable,” I replied.
“Take it easy. Everything will be fine. Two days ago, I asked Nick to arrange everything. Let’s solve this together,” he said.
“Ok.” I hope that this complex problem will be resolved quickly. I just wanted to get my life back and live in peace. However, according to Megan’s character, I was not sure if she’ll accept all this.
A few moments later, the car driven by Jay arrived at the gate of the mansion. The gatekeeper hurried to open the door for us. After the car stopped right in front of the porch, we rushed down from the car.
“Jessie, Jensen, you guys go up to the second floor and wait for us in Jessie’s room, okay?” Jay asked.
“Ok, Dad. Take it easy,” Jensen replied. Then Jessie pulled Jensen’s hand into the house.
From inside the House, Ken and Lily came out, then brought in all our belongings.
“Is Megan home?” Jay asked.
“Yes, Sir. She’s waiting for you in the living room,” Ken replied.
As we walked into the living room, I saw Megan standing. Her eyes gazed at us like the gaze of a hunter ready to render his game helpless. My hands were sweating coldly.
“Ah, finally you came,” Megan said with a flat expression.
