Chapter 25 Revenge

Chapter 25 Revenge
Chapter 25

Kai pov

Heads lowered the moment I stepped into the company, my eyes as sharp as that of a Hawk, seemingly to scrutinize everyone present wanting to make sure they were not threats.

Staring at the employees greeting him so earnestly, I chuckled and shook my head walking past them, my hands behind his back as I made my way to my office.

I couldn't stay here anyway, everyone here was scared of me.

Getting to the office, the first thing I  did was to unwind and I collapsed on the chair, loosening my tie while shaking my head slightly.

There was still a lot to do, I couldn't care less about a bunch of employees scared of their boss..

I would be shocked if they weren't and would have even ended up questioning them.

"Sir," A low voice called, the door the my office was slowly being pushed open as a tall figure walked in.

"What's wrong?" I sat up lazily, walking up to my chair, intending to start some real work.

"Do you have some news for me David?" I  continued, glancing at my manager who was walking slowly towards me.

That seemed to be the only person in the entire building who wasn't scared of me and could talk to me normally.

"I've got some information that a spy has been sent to the laundry office to smoke out some Information," David answered, staring at me who appeared busy.

"Really?" I froze, and a smirk spread slowly across my face.

"Yes sir," David nodded, not surprised by my reaction.

"Why don't you tell the Spy to work a bit harder, maybe he would be able to snoop around more information than he was asked to," I chuckled, flipping through a document, my voice laid think with sarcasm.

"You don't have to worry sir, I've already laid out a trap for the six new workers," David smiled gently shaking his head, knowing well I  didn't care.

But I did, so I was not going to allow anything to happen.

"Anyone who falls for it would be eliminated," He added.

"Sounds fair enough," I paused, then agreed with it after thinking about it for a brief moment.

"Is there any other thing?" I inquired after a while, my gaze meeting that of David.

"I'm not sure if you remember Dexter," David thought for a moment and then replied.

"Yeah, that's shit of a prosecutor who has been trying to get me behind bars for quite a while now," I frowned slightly, showing that whatever experience I had with the other party wasn't pleasant.

"He's trying to get a way to get you behind bars again using Tax evasion, and some other crimes, I think we'd need to be careful,"

"If that's the case, make sure to pay the tax, and every single penny demanded by the government," I issued a command, my voice cold.

"I don't want to be caught up in jail for such a ridiculous reason, I've learnt quite enough to be caught off guard for things like that," I continued, a dangerous glint flashing through my eyes.

"Yes sir," David agreed, seemingly not minding my cold voice.

He also understood what I was trying to avoid. I was already a wanted man, it would be ridiculous if the other party were able to get a hold of me so easily all because of a stupid tax.

That would be one of the lamest things in history and since I didn't want that, all I had to do was prevent that from happening.

"Also, I have an update about someone I'm not sure if you'll be interested in," David broke the silence, stealing glances at me who seemed rather focused.

"And who's that?" I asked, not bothering to raise my head to look at David.

David observed me who was busy sorting out things, wondering if he should tell me

Well, ultimately, there was no need to hide it. This was our past and it was coming back to chase us.

If we didn't do anything about it, it would definitely catch up to us and bite us. The bite would be so strong that they would be injured.

"David, who's the person you caught a whiff of?" my voice came, pulling David out of his thoughts.

"Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eric Donovan," David said slowly, his gaze fixated on me wanting to catch even the minuscule of my emotions.

And just as expected, I froze, my body trembled slightly, then after a while shook my head then went back to what I was doing not wanting the memories to affect me much.

Back in the days, I was once a tool for Eric. Eric had used me and my men to rob banks and commit a whole lot of other atrocities.

Then on a particular day after our last robbery where each person was supposed to go home with a total sum of 9 billion which is a pretty large sum and Eric himself would get even more than we were getting, he proposed another robbery which caused me to lose most of my friends in the duel with security.

It turned out Eric had tipped the police about the robbery. This in turn enraged me. This led to me being caught, and then Eric sat on almost all of the money making me even more annoyed.

And now, I was out of prison and threatened to expose Eric, to make him pay for all his wrongs. But then, Eric was definitely scared of retribution which was something he couldn't escape, and thus was looking for all ways to pull me down.

After a while, I shook my head, there was no need to care much about it. If I thought too much, I would just end up getting annoyed.

David took in a deep breath seeing I didn't lose my cool, after all, it was expected.

"And what book is this?" I raised a book showing it to David, flipping through it.

"Child trafficking," David replied, his voice sharp and fast.

"Child trafficking?" I looked rather confused,

"Tell me more," I demanded wanting to know its contents.
