I can do this

Kayden's POV

"What is wrong with you Rhea?" I scolded her.

I knew I had promised never to speak to her in such an awful manner again, but she just keeps pushing me to the wall each day.

"What do you mean Kayden?" She tried to play dumb.

"Don't even act foolish with me right now. Don't get on my nerves" I warned her, and she swallowed hard.

"Can you explain to me the meaning of that stunt you just pulled downstairs. What came over you?" I asked her, trying to suppress my demon

Even though I was furious at her, seeing her lay on the bed like this had a way of stirring up the demon in me. Sometimes, I wonder if this woman was controlling me with some kind of magic.

"Kayden, nothing has come over me. I know you are angry, because I didn't inform you before I barged into the meeting. But, if I had told you, then you would have stopped me from coming entirely" she spoke softly, making me calm down.

Her tone was soft, but her words were rough.

"I cannot let this type of injustice happen to you" she got up from the bed, wrapping her hands around me.

"Rhea, this thing you are trying to do is not going to work out the way it is in your head" I took her hands off me.

She was too close for comfort. I don't know if she was doing this purposely just to get me to agree to her absurd idea which was already driving me crazy.

"Please Kayden, just let me do this. There is obviously nothing to lose here. Things can't get any worse by trying instead they will get better" she explained and I shook my head.

I never knew that I was getting married to a crazy woman.

"Imagine, if I am able to prove you innocent. You will not only remain the king, but you will be able to finally get rid of those old men who have chosen to be weapons fashioned against you" she spoke.

"You see, that's the problem that I have with you. You keep imagining things and you have refused to see the cold reality in front of you. Now, imagine if you loose " I lifted an eyebrow at her.

"We will be sent into exile, I know. But, they would have done that tomorrow anyways. It can't get worse" she said.

I took a deep breath.

"Rhea, I don't know what gave you this crazy idea. But, I don't want to be a part of it. I know you're trying to help, but you are just elongating the process and in the end, you are creating more problems for us. I don't want them to hurt my sister in any way. Please Rhea, just end this nonsense imaginations of yours" I pleaded with her but she refused.

"I don't care if you decide to help me or not. As a matter of fact, I don't even want you to help me. I just want to do what I want for once. If it works then fine, and if it doesn't that's alright " she spoke, before she walked out on me.

I was too shocked to even complain. I never knew she was brave enough to speak to me in such a tone, let alone walk out on me.

Should I be proud or concerned?.

Rhea's POV

"Alysia, did I do something wrong by trying?" I asked Alysia, who was too busy organizing my clothes.

"No, you didn't. But, you were wrong with the way you went about it. You should never have spoken to the elders in that tone, or even the king" she spoke, and I chuckled.

"The king, you are the only one who still refers to Kayden as the King in this whole kingdom" I replied.

"That's not true Luna. Everyone still does, even though they don't want to. His power still surpasses their desires " she responded.

"Hmmn" I was at a loss for words.

"I don't know what gave you the confidence to do something like this. But, I want to say that I am really proud of you. And if there is any way you feel I can be of help to you. Then, please tell me. I don't mind laying down my life for you" she took my hand in hers for the first time.

"Why do you always do this?" I asked her.

"Do what?" She seemed confused.

"Support me, even when the world is against me. You have loved me so much, like a sister would. You even hid me in your quarters, just so they wouldn't kill me" I told her.

"That's because I can easily tell a good person when I see one. You don't deserve everything that's happening in your life right now. You deserve better" she told me, before she pulled me in for an embrace.

"No matter what happens, you will always be my Luna, no one will take your place in my heart" she said, and my heart melted.

I couldn't stop the tears that escaped my eyes. I felt like I was floating and all my problems had finally vanished into thin air.

"I may not have been blessed with a sister. But, I am lucky to have been blessed with a friend like you" I told her, tightening the grips of my hands around her.

"Same here" she said, and I could tell that she had a smile on her face.

"But, how do you plan on doing it Luna? Proving the King's innocence is going to be very difficult" she said, freeing me from the hug.

"But, it's not going to be impossible. Trust me, I have a plan already" I told her.

"And also, please get the press ready. I have an announcement to make" I instructed.

"Yes Luna " she nodded, before she took a slight bow and left.

I never knew it was possible to submit to one's superior and be a friend at the same time until I might Alysia.

I don't even think I can do that.
