Apologizing to Her
Khushi's POV:
It was too late and still Shajan didn't come to the house. I have no mobile to call and can't go out as Shajan locked the house from the outside. I didn't understand what happened to him.
I switched on the TV. I saw the news of reopening the case and arrest of that minister's son. I was shocked to see the news as it's proved that I am not at fault. I am happy for that but my mind is filled with negative thoughts as Shajan didn't reach home yet. My fear was increased minute by every minute. Suddenly the door was unlocked and Shajan reached the home.
I ran to him and hugged him tightly.
"Where are you until now? Why are you so late? I am worried about you. I can't even come out or call you. You may be angry at me but this is really too much of hurting me, Shajan," I said.
Khushi realized that Shajan didn't react to my words. May be still he didn't trust me. Anyways he is safe, that's enough for me.
"I am sorry. Please fresh up and come. Dinner is ready," I said. I turned to leave to the kitchen but stopped hearing Shajan calling me.
"Khushi," Shajan said and I turned towards him and Shajan is on his knees.
"Khushi, I am sorry. I am sorry for everything," Shajan said.
He caught both my hands. He is in tears.
"I am sorry for everything I did until now. I know that a simple word sorry can never erase my fault. I can't take away the pain you felt all these days because of me. I don't know whether you can forgive me or not.
I know I am not a good husband and not at all suitable to you. But still I want to say only one thing to you now i.e. not I love you but I trust you. I trust you and your love completely. Today I really bowed down before you for your unconditional love and unwavering patience."
I felt so happy that I can't even control my tears but this time it's happy tears.
"Shajan, please get up," I said and then, I hugged him.
"Shajan, you didn't do anything wrong. Though you hurt me, I always found your love in that.
You are such a great husband. Until now though I am pretending to be happy, I am always dying inside of the blame posed by that minister on me. Today, it's the most important day of my life.
Because I am relieved from the blame on my character. This is all because of you, Shajan. Husband is the one who protects wife from all sufferings and hardships in the life. For me, you are the best husband. You are the one who erased blame on my character permanently. I love you so much."
Shajan lifted me in his arms. He took her to the room and dropped on the bed. He kissed me on the forehead and cheeks.
"Shajan, we still have time for this. Fresh up and have your dinner."
Saying this I got up from the bed. Shajan caught my hand.
"Wait, Khushi. From today please don't do anything until you recover completely. I can't see you in pain anymore. You are a princess to your parents and for me, you are my queen."
We had dinner together. Shajan and I went to the room. Shajan hugged me and turned me towards him. He moved his fingers from forehead to cheeks and then on my lips. I can clearly feel his love through his soft touch.
"You are the one and only beautiful girl in this whole world to me. I love you, Khushi."
I blushed and saw into his eyes.
"Do you still love me?"
"Can't you see my love for you in my eyes?
"I can see me in you."
"That's the only way to express love perfectly."
Shajan kissed me. Shajan hugged me tightly, which reflected feelings in his heart that he couldn't live without me and I was his whole life. I hugged him back saying to him silently that I don't need anything than his love.
The next day, Shajan woke up and saw me getting ready. Shajan hugged me from the back and moved his fingers on my back.
"I love you, Khushi."
"I love you too. But it's already morning, so leave me."
"I can't leave you even for a second. Why should I leave my love?"
"Because if I am late in completing my household chores, my husband will be angry with me," I said.
Shajan turned me towards him. I saw tears in his eyes.
"From now your husband will never be angry with you. Because he loves you a lot more than himself."
I wiped his tears.
"I'm sorry, Jan. I am just joking. Let's forget everything and be happy."
I used to call Shajan 'Jan' in our college days.
"Jan? Is my Khushi back to me? Khushi, you no need to wear this kind of heavy sarees and jewelry. Be as you are and as you like," Shajan said.
"Every wife loves to get ready in the way that makes her look beautiful in the eyes of her husband. You like to see me in this attire, so I am always ready to dress up like this for you. Because I love you," I said.
