"After the accident, Ellis claimed he saw Victor's omega doing something to Arthur's car. Martin showed favoritism towards Victor to make Tobias and Ellis believe that Victor was the one who killed their parents."
"A few years later, a few days before Tobias shifted, signs of a recurrence of the tumor appeared in Martin's body. Following the notes left by Nora, he secretly manufactured a machine to extract shift powers."
Alicia recalled what Ellis had told her about Tobias's past. Trembling lips, she voiced her speculation, "He extracted Tobias's shifter powers and caused the helicopter crash?"
Lee nodded. The room fell into a brief silence. He sighed and said, "Tobias's shifter powers once again inhibited the growth of Martin's tumor. To Martin's surprise, Tobias, based on the notes left by his father Arthur, formulated a potion to restore shifter powers. He wanted to test if Tobias had regained his shifter powers, so he orchestrated that helicopter crash."
"How could he do such a thing!" Tears streamed down Alicia's eyes, unable to fathom that Tobias's past suffering was merely a result of his grandfather's selfishness."Lee continued, "Before he came to Los Angeles, he had taken shifting powers from Alpha Victor and the Alphas of the 46 packs under the Silvermoon pack. However, Alpha Victor did not regain his shapeshifting power from Arthur's potion; it is possible that Tobias modified the potion."
"Now, Martin aims for the 48 packs under the Golden Moon Pack, Tobias, Ellis, you, and your friend Mae. So, Allie, I've told you everything I've learned. Now, before Martin questions me about your whereabouts, hand over the Upper Moon Ring and get out of this place.”
Alicia, however, shook her head.
"I can't leave. I won't abandon Tobias and my friends. You have to help me," Alicia pleaded with Lee, her determination cutting through the air.
Lee sighed and said,“30 years ago, I was once Martin’s first beta. I left due to the ridicule I faced from other pack members because of my missing hand. Despite the departure being a betrayal, Martin never removed my name from the Wilton Family member list, allowing me to avoid becoming a rogue during those years.”
“I promised Martin to help and save him after the reunion. I couldn't let him die though I couldn't bear to see him extracting your shifting powers. ”Lee said, with a determined look in his eyes.
"What do you plan to do now if you release me? Martin lacks an alpha. How will you handle the situation?" Alicia asked. She did not believe that Lee would be an enabler of abusers. She knew that Lee was a man of justice and that he would not let Martin continue his evil ways.
Lee sighed heavily, "I can't tell you and I can’t help you. I won't betray Alpha Martin again. I've been living these 30 years because he let me. It's time for me to face the consequences."
"Lee, please, he had already caused Tobias’ parents’ death and made 47 alphas lost their shift abilities. You can't keep him hurting others. They are innocent." Alicia pleaded.
Lee pursed his lips and finally decided to tell Alicia everything.
The moon hung in the velvety sky, casting a silvery glow over the apartment building. Lee, his eyes heavy with the burden of secrets, began to unravel the intricacies of Martin's sinister plans to Alicia. They stood in the quiet room, shadows dancing around them.
