Chapter 63 Come With Me In Three Seconds
"Enough with the goodbyes! Betrayer, come with me at once," Damian commanded the white wolf, who was still tending to others' wounds, a sinister glint in his eyes.
The scent of blood dissipated from the air, replaced by an intriguing mix of aromas he had never encountered before. Dominating the blend were notes of rosemary and peppermint, followed by an unusual yet harmonious combination of eucalyptus leaves and night-blooming flowers, with a hint of lavender lingering in the wind.
Fixing his gaze on the source of the scent—the members of the Scarlett Pack—he observed that the wounds Alicia had licked were healing as if by magic, bathed in the moonlight and the dim orange glow of the streetlamps outside the pack house. It seemed that his mate possessed a peculiar ability to heal wounds, a secret she had kept not only from him but also from Tobias and any members of the Wilton Family.
No, she might reveal that secret to Alpha Martin. Probably her healing ability could heal Martin's cancer, which might be the reason why Martin came back to the Golden Moon Pack in ahead.
With those thoughts and assumptions, his fists clenched at his sides, Damian gritted his teeth and warned Alicia, "Come with me in three seconds, or I'll destroy your damn little pack."
"I'm fine. Allie, don't waste your energy on me," said a middle-aged woman with gray hair, Gamma Greta from the Scarlett Pack, who specialized in divination and could discern the inner soul color of shifters.
With blood-stained hands, Greta gently embraced the white wolf, leaning close to Alicia's ear to offer a whispered reminder, "Your mate's soul appears to be a mysterious, noble purple, not an evil black. However, he's concocting a very dangerous plan. I have a feeling it will lead you both into a major crisis. Remember not to expose your healing power too easily. Be careful, my dear, may the great Moon God bless you."
Alicia trusted Greta's prophecies, for the diviner had accurately predicted her marriage to Tobias and its impact on the Scarlett Pack's prosperity. While she now had doubts due to recent events, she couldn't deny the accuracy of Greta's ability to observe the soul's color.
Whimpering, Alicia thanked Greta for the kind warning. As she stared back at Damian who was 10 feet away from her, she found it hard to fathom that the grumpy, ruthless Rogue King's soul bore the purple hue of royalty or King (well, a King with a kind heart, not some Rogues’ King in Alicia’s mind).
Damian frowned, attempting to ignore his damn mate’s thoughts about some purple soul or King things. Damn her! She really hid quite a lot of secrets. Maybe more mysterious than him. He kind of felt intrigued about her secrets instead of irritated by her betrayal.
With her head bowed, Alicia walked toward her bad-tempered mate, who inexplicably seemed angry once more. She glanced back at her father and pack members, their eyes brimming with concern for her. Even Mary howled, cautioning Alicia to be careful, which was a surprise for her. The others joined in with farewell howls since they could do nothing except for blessings and prayers. However, in the presence of the powerful rogues, they resembled sheep being led to the slaughter, unable to protect Alicia or their territory.
"Lyon, you stay here with Tom and John. Prevent these useless wolves from causing trouble for my betrayer," Damian ordered Lyon before whispering a warning in his ear, their conversation private. "I know you let my mate escape on purpose. If you disobey me again, don't expect me to turn a blind eye."
“Yes, Alpha,” A chill ran down Lyon's spine as he took a step back before kneeling to demonstrate his loyalty to Alpha Damian.
Silently, Alicia observed as Lyon and the other rogues saluted Damian. The white wolf, standing at 6'2" beside the human-sized Damian, appeared significantly smaller. The broad, muscular back and tan biceps emanated a wild beauty under the moonlight. Yet, the cold, intimidating aura in Damian's eyes warned everyone to keep their distance.
Alicia walked to the entrance of the village when she found Aunt Jennifer lying naked on the ground, letting out a lewd moan. Behind her stood a rogue in wolf form with its paws around Jennifer's waist in a thrusting motion. Alicia could even vaguely see the black sex organ.
Alicia was shocked by the scene and immediately turned her head, feeling a little sick to her stomach.
"That's fucking disgusting!" Damian curses under his breath after noticing Alicia's movements. He had seen this kind of lewd scene many times since he became the Alpha of the Moon Halo Pack. He normally wouldn't interfere or forbid his pack members from engaging in mixed-form copulation or not. He wouldn't allow a member of his pack to do something in front of his mate that would make her feel disgusted, even though in the situation where he doubted she betrayed him.
"I'm so sorry Alpha, I had no idea. I asked Dick earlier to keep an eye on the woman who was screaming at the entrance to this village." Lyon sensed Alpha's displeasure and immediately stepped forward to apologize.
"Lyon, demote that Gamma to Omega," Damian commanded, his voice firm and unwavering. "Then take the bitch to our casino. I don't want her polluting my eyes any longer."
Despite her concern for Aunt Jennifer's fate, Alicia felt powerless to intervene. Her own situation was precarious enough. As she was led to a sleek black RV, her mind raced with anxiety and uncertainty. Once inside, Damian promptly closed the door, and without wasting a moment, he threw her a new black suit from the nearby couch, barking, "Get dressed. You can shift back now, Betrayer."
Complying with his demand, Alicia quickly shed her wolf form, shifting back into her human self. She dressed in the black suit, trying to steady herself amidst the swirling emotions and tensions.
