CHAPTER 15. First blood

William, who had been impatient because he wanted to satisfy his desire immediately, suddenly looked at Paula with his round eyes.

It was because Paula was holding a mini knife at that moment, and she aimed it at his heart.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm a medical student studying cardiac surgery." There was coldness in Paula's clear voice.

"I guarantee it with the marks I got, if I stab you here, your heart will be cut into two halves."

Since she was young, no one had ever pointed a knife like that at her.

Gritting his teeth, he wanted to fight. But to his dismay, he found that his coat had been tied tightly by Paula when he wasn't paying attention.

Now, he had lost even the chance to fight and could only be at Paula's mercy.

"My good sister-in-law..." William forced a friendly smile and began to beg for mercy.

"I'm Mark's cousin after all. If you do something to me, how will you explain it to our family? Try to calm down."

"Apparently you still know I'm your sister-in-law," Paula sneered.

"Didn't you think about how to explain to our family why you almost harassed me a moment ago?" William's face turned very pale.

"I..."

"Do you think you can do whatever you want with me because Mark is expendable in the Aliston family? Is that right? Because he's blind and has no real power, he can't do anything to you. You're wrong! Now there's me by his side!"

William lowered his head and looked at the shiny silver knife blade aimed at his chest. He could only

could only nod.

"Yes..."

Paula's heart was broken, and she recalled the scene from the night before. In the garden of his former residence, the man sat in a wheelchair and stared at the moon, saying that he had no family.

Every time she thought of his lonely tone, she felt her heart ache.

"I will protect Mark from now on." Taking a deep breath, the young woman said solemnly,

"Although I'm a little silly and not from the same world as you guys, But I am an outstanding medical student. They all believe that I'm capable of doing something with my intelligence, just to take care of rubbish like you!"

She pretended to be fierce and moved the knife in her hand.

"I learned earlier what strength it takes to cut a liver into two pieces and what skill it takes to cut it into three pieces!"

William started trembling as he saw the ferocity in Paula's eyes.

It was beyond his expectations. Whereas he had just taken off his clothes a second ago, innocently and naively. But next, she looked at him with such a ferocious gaze!

She clearly sensed that he was serious.

He was so serious that she had the impression that he would instantly take the knife, chase after her, and stab her in the heart if she offended Mark again in the future!

That was very scary.

A medical student with good academic results was too scary. Even people with power seemed scared.

Paula took a deep breath.

She had said what she wanted to say. She had threatened and scared him, so the next step was how she should escape.

All of William's men were out there. Even if she controlled William, his subordinates still had Charlotte.

They could actually manipulate Charlotte to threaten to let William go.

But if he released William because of Charlotte, they wouldn't be able to face William and those people. Because they were just two unarmed and defenseless women.

William would definitely go further. Still, he couldn't leave Charlotte alone.

Just as she was daydreaming, she didn't realize that she was swinging the tip of the knife up and down around William's chest.

William was really scared. Was Paula thinking about how to stab his heart with a knife because of her current actions?

He was so scared that his legs started trembling.

William had been pampered since he was born. Under the protection of Milley and Zerrick, he had never suffered anything, despite being thirty years old.

Now, someone was pointing a knife at his heart. He was so frightened that he almost cried.

Bang!

Suddenly, the study room door was kicked open. Mr. Conan and Robert did it on purpose.

Mark, who was sitting in a wheelchair, was in front of Mr. Conan.

The sunlight shone behind Mark, enveloping his entire body in golden light.

Paula looked at the man whose eyes were covered with a piece of black silk, and her heartbeat quickened.

He... came to save her?

"I need help! I'm going to die!"

Suddenly, William, who was next to her, started shouting. Paula frowned. When she reacted, she realized that she had pierced the clothes in front of William's chest with the knife.

Blood seeped from his white shirt, and William covered up some bloodstains while continuing to cry.

The veins on Paula's forehead appeared.

It was only a small wound, judging by the amount of blood. Did she have to scream so loudly? Also, she wasn't moving at all right now.

"Send her to the hospital." Mark frowned and said coldly.

Mr. Conan nodded and comforted Paula.

"Mum, you don't have to blame yourself. She tried to escape when you weren't paying attention to her at the time, but she misjudged her position and hit the knife."

Paula was speechless. Was William really that stupid?

A minute later, the sobbing William was taken away and sent to the hospital by Robert.

"Judging from the amount of blood, the wound shouldn't be deep." Paula bit her lip.

"I didn't hurt his internal organs."

Then she walked carefully and stood in front of Matk. "I hurt him...Grandpa will blame me, right?"

"Are you scared?" Mark touched Paula's cold hand, then grasped it.

Paula squatted in front of Mark and raised her head. "You know what? He almost abused me. He wanted to take my virginity, which you haven't even taken yet. I was afraid something would happen to what was supposed to be yours."

Mark smiled mischievously and pinched Paula's face gently. "Aren't you embarrassed? There's Mr. Conan, right here. Why are you revealing the secret of our bed?"

Paula folded her lips inward and hugged her husband, who was in a wheelchair. She hid her face under her husband's burly shoulder with an embarrassed laugh.

"Don't be like that. You're embarrassing me," Paula whispered in a small voice that made Mark laugh again.

"Alright, don't be embarrassed. I'll take what's rightfully mine from you."
