Chapter 134 THE FINAL BATTLE
Chapter 134 THE FINAL BATTLE
LUNA LEENA POV
We ran through the dense jungle, branches whipping at our faces and roots threatening to trip us with every step. My heart pounded wildly in my chest. I held Elara tightly in my arms while Ryker and Thorne ran beside me. The sounds of the rogues crashing through the undergrowth grew louder behind us. They were getting closer.
“Keep running!” I shouted, breathing hard. My belly felt heavy, but fear gave me strength. I couldn’t let them catch us. Not my children. Not while Damian was fighting for his life at the border.
Thorne suddenly stumbled over a thick root. He fell hard to the ground with a cry of pain. Ryker and I stopped immediately, turning back to help him.
“Thorne!” I cried, reaching for him.
Before we could pull him up, the rogues burst through the trees. There were at least fifteen of them, swords drawn, eyes hungry. They surrounded us quickly, smirking with cruel satisfaction. Their leader, a tall scarred man, laughed as he looked at me.
“Well, well,” he said mockingly. “The mighty Luna Leena. Kieran told us to bring you and the pups back alive. If your guards throw you to us right now, we might spare them. We’re only here for you and the children.”
The guards around us the few loyal ones who had stayed to protect us raised their swords. Their faces were pale but determined.
One of them, a young captain, stepped forward. “We will never give up our Luna,” he said firmly. “You will have to kill us first.”
The rogues laughed. Then the fighting started.
Swords clashed loudly in the jungle clearing. The guards fought bravely, but they were outnumbered. I couldn’t stand by and watch. Even with my pregnancy, I grabbed a fallen sword from the ground and joined the fight. I swung with all my strength, blocking a rogue’s strike and slashing at another. My body moved on instinct, years of training taking over. I fought hard, protecting my children as best as I could.
But one rogue came from behind. He kicked me hard in the back. Pain exploded through my spine. I stumbled forward with a cry. Before I could recover, he grabbed my hair and started dragging me away from the children.
“No!” I screamed, struggling against his grip. “Let go of me!”
The children screamed in terror. “Mummy!” Then something changed. All three of them Ryker, Thorne, and Elara screamed together. Their eyes suddenly glowed bright golden, brighter than I had ever seen. The light exploded outward like a wave. The rogues around us grabbed their ears in pain, yelling and dropping their weapons. Blood started pouring from their ears, noses, eyes, and mouths. They fell to their knees, screaming in agony as the golden power overwhelmed them. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, bodies twitching until they went still.
The jungle became silent except for our heavy breathing.
The triplets ran to me. Their golden eyes still glowed strongly. They helped me up, their small hands surprisingly strong. The light around them didn’t fade. It pulsed with power.
“Mummy,” Ryker said, his voice calm but firm, “we need to go to Daddy. He needs us at the battlefield.”
I looked at them, stunned. Something in their voices pulled at me. It felt like I couldn’t disagree. Their golden eyes held a power I didn’t fully understand yet. I felt compelled to listen.
“Yes,” I whispered, almost against my own will. “We will go to your father.”
We started moving through the jungle toward the border, I held Elara’s hand tightly, my heart racing with both fear and hope. Damian needed us.
And we were coming.
……..
ALPHA DAMIAN POV
I was on my last legs. Blood covered my black fur, dripping from deep gashes along my sides, my shoulder, and my flank. Every breath burned like fire in my lungs. My legs trembled as I tried to stay standing. Kael’s grey wolf circled me slowly, his eyes glowing with cruel satisfaction. He had broken through my defenses again and again. Each time he struck, I felt weaker.
“You look pathetic, Damian,” Kael taunted through the wolf link, his voice dripping with mockery. “The great Alpha, bleeding out on the ground like a dog. Leena will forget you soon. I’ll make sure of that. I’ll take her and raise your pups as mine.”
I growled low, refusing to fall. I lunged at him one more time, my jaws snapping. But my movement was slow. Kael dodged easily and slammed his body into mine. I crashed hard to the ground, pain exploding through my ribs. I tried to get up, but my legs gave out. Blood pooled beneath me, soaking the torn earth.
Still, I refused to give up. I thought of Leena’s smile. I thought of our children Ryker’s bravery, Thorne’s quiet strength, Elara’s gentle heart. And the new pup growing inside her. They needed me. I had to protect them. Even if it cost me my life.
I pushed myself up again, snarling. Kael laughed and hit me harder this time, his claws raking across my chest. I staggered back, vision blurring. The world spun. I knew I was dying. I could feel my strength fading with every drop of blood I lost. But I kept fighting. I kept standing.
For them.
One final desperate lunge. Kael met me head-on. His heavier body slammed me down. I hit the ground hard, the air knocked out of me. I tried to rise, but my body wouldn’t obey anymore. I lay there, breathing shallowly, expecting the final blow.
Leena… I’m sorry… I tried… Protect our children…
The battlefield seemed to slow down. I waited for death. Then I heard it. Small footsteps. Familiar voices.
“Daddy!”
The children’s voices cut through the chaos. I lifted my head weakly. Leena was running toward me, holding Elara in her arms. Ryker and Thorne ran beside her, their small faces determined. Their eyes were glowing.
Kael turned, surprised. “What is this?”
Leena stopped a few feet away, breathing hard. Her eyes met mine. Even through the pain, I felt the mate bond flare warmly between us. She was here. My Leena was here.
The children stood together, holding hands. Their golden light grew stronger, pulsing with pure power. It washed over me, easing some of the pain, giving me a small spark of strength.
Kael laughed mockingly. “The pups came to watch their father die? How touching.”
But I saw the flicker of fear in his eyes. The golden light was affecting him too. He stepped back slightly.
I forced myself to stand. My legs shook, but I stood. Blood still dripped from my wounds, but the children’s light gave me hope. Leena looked at me with tears in her eyes, but also with fierce love.
“Damian,” she whispered through the bond. “We’re here. Fight with us.”
I roared and charged at Kael one last time. The children’s golden light surged with me. Kael tried to meet my attack, but the light burned him. He howled in pain as I slammed into him. My jaws closed around his throat. This time, I didn’t let go. With the last of my strength, fueled by my family’s love, I ended the fight.
Kael’s grey wolf body went limp beneath Damian’s jaws. The rogue Alpha’s eyes dimmed, and with one final, powerful twist of his head, Damian severed Kael’s head from his body. The head rolled across the blood-soaked ground. A roar of victory rose from Damian’s warriors as they saw their greatest enemy fall.
But the fight was not over.
Kieran charged forward with a scream of rage, wielding the cursed black blade from the Veilwood. He swung it wildly at Damian, who was still in his massive black wolf form. The blade glowed with dark energy, cutting through the air with deadly force.
Damian dodged the first strike, but the second grazed his side, sending fresh pain through his body. He growled and lunged. Kieran was fast, but Damian was driven by pure fury and love for his family. In a desperate move, he caught the cursed sword between his powerful jaws mid-swing. With a roar that shook the battlefield, he bit down hard. The blade snapped in two with a loud crack, dark energy exploding outward in a harmless burst.
Kieran’s eyes widened in shock. He stumbled back, staring at the broken weapon in his hand.
“Impossible…” he muttered.
“Retreat!” Kieran yelled desperately to his remaining rogues. “Fall back! Save yourselves!”
The rogues began to turn and run, their morale shattered. But Leena was already moving. She had taken a bow from one of the fallen guards. With steady hands and eyes full of determination, she knocked an arrow, drew the string back, and released.
The arrow flew true. It struck Kieran straight in the heart. He gasped, eyes bulging in shock, and fell to his knees. Blood poured from the wound. He looked at Leena with hatred one last time before collapsing dead on the ground.
Seeing their leaders slain, the rogue army grew weaker. Many began to stumble, as if the dark power that had fueled them was fading. Damian’s warriors, strengthened by the golden light from the children, fought with renewed power. They pushed forward, cutting down the fleeing rogues and capturing those who surrendered.
The battlefield slowly fell silent. Damian shifted back to human form, breathing heavily, covered in blood and wounds.
Leena ran to him across the battlefield, ignoring the danger. She threw herself into his arms. He held her tightly, burying his face in her hair.
“We did it,” he whispered. “It’s over.”
The remaining rogues were rounded up and taken prisoner. The pack warriors cheered weakly but victoriously. The long war was finally won.
…….
LUNA LEENA POV
The journey back to the palace felt like a dream after so much darkness.
We rode slowly through the familiar paths, the surviving warriors marching proudly behind us. Damian sat beside me in the open victory carriage that the pack had prepared. His hand never left mine. Even though he was covered in blood and wounds, his grip was strong and steady. I leaned against him, my other hand resting gently on my belly, feeling the soft kicks of our unborn pup. The children rode just ahead of us, carried high on the shoulders of loyal soldiers who smiled at them with pride and relief.
As we approached the main gates, the pack members who had been hiding began to emerge. First a few hesitant figures, then hundreds. They poured out from their homes, from the safe caves, and from the forests. Their faces lit up with pure joy when they saw us.
“They’re back!” a woman shouted. “The Alpha and Luna have returned victorious!”
The cheering started small, then exploded into a thunderous roar. People waved white clothes, threw flowers, and hugged each other in the streets. Mothers lifted their children high so they could see. Elders clapped their hands with tears streaming down their faces. The entire pack came alive with happiness and relief.
Then the singing began.
Someone started the old victory song, the one our ancestors sang after great battles. Soon the whole crowd joined in. Beautiful, powerful voices rose into the air, singing of strength, love, survival, and the triumph of light over darkness. The melody wrapped around us like a warm embrace. I felt tears streaming down my cheeks as I listened. After so much pain, so much fear, and so much loss, the pack was celebrating again. They were free.
The soldiers carrying the children lifted them even higher on their shoulders. Ryker, Thorne, and Elara laughed with pure joy as the people cheered for them. Their small hands waved back. Elara’s golden eyes glowed faintly for a moment, as if responding to the love of the pack.
Our carriage moved slowly through the main streets. People lined both sides, throwing white flowers and ribbons in our path. Some reached out to touch the carriage, shouting words of gratitude and love.
“Welcome home, Luna Leena!”
“Thank you for protecting us!”
“Long live Alpha Damian and Luna Leena!”
“Long live the true royal family!”
Damian squeezed my hand and leaned over to kiss my temple. “We did it,” he whispered against my skin. “We’re home, my love.”
I smiled through my tears and rested my head on his shoulder. The children kept looking back at us, their faces bright with happiness. For the first time in what felt like forever, the air felt light. The nightmare was truly over.
When we finally reached the palace steps, the singing grew even louder. The children were gently lowered from the soldiers’ shoulders and ran straight to us. I knelt down and opened my arms. All three of them crashed into me at once. I hugged them tightly, laughing and crying at the same time as they squeezed me back with all their small strength.
“Don’t ever leave again, Mummy,” Elara whispered, her voice muffled against my neck.
“I won’t,” I promised, kissing each of their heads. “Mummy is staying right here with you forever.”
Damian knelt beside us and wrapped his arms around all four of us. The pack continued cheering and singing around us. Flowers rained down gently from the balconies. The moment felt magical, a true victory after so much suffering.
The nightmare with Gotham was over.Kael and Kieran were dead. The pack was safe.We were finally happy again.
As the people kept singing and celebrating, I looked at Damian. Our eyes met, full of love, gratitude, and quiet strength. We had fought through darkness, pain, betrayal, and loss. But
we had won. Together.
The future was bright. And we would face it as a complete family with our three beautiful children and the new life growing inside me.
