Chapter 22

Evelyn's Pov.

It was late at night when we left the hotel room and I was shocked at the ruins in sight, the once beautiful place had become lifeless and burnt that I wondered how our room was still able to remain intact.

We couldn't stay in the city or spend the night according to Draven or Vladimir might be in trouble. Even if he wasn't in trouble, I was glad to go, leave this place that brought out nothing but tears when I'm suddenly reminded about Cassidy and swallow hard.

"What's wrong?" His deep voice flooded the car as we journeyed out of the city.

"Nothing, just thinking about my friend. Why does It seem like I left here five years ago when it was just five days?" I asked him and he hummed, relaxing his head on the car's headrest of the chair.

"It's the time frame, it's different for us in the other realms. Every second that ticks in our realm it's like a week or a month here. So each day that passes over there is like a year here."

" That's so strange." I commented and he nodded.

"I know, but that's the law of nature for us and the reason why the human Realm is not for us, we get weaker here due to the time frame and other unworldly activities that occur." He said, smirking at me and I smiled.

"I'm just glad I'm going back, it's way too scary here." I sighed under his arms which he gladly welcomed, staring at the high sky scrapper facilities that reached the sky, the rich street lights and other cars buzzing past our cars.

Everything here might look real and natural to me but it wasn't fair to me, life was cruel and crazy but with the Kings, I'm safe and treated like a queen.

I couldn't decipher the time of the night when we reached the borders of Scented Skies Clan, ready to use the path of the Ash blood Cave that had seemed like a gory sight for me.

"Don't look directly in the eye of Vampires again or try to run away Vixen, I can't take it if you leave."

I nodded and gave an apologetic look. "Why shouldn't I look at the Vampires?" I asked in curiosity and he sighed.

"Because they will compel you to do things, you're not supposed to do. You don't act according to your will but theirs."

"That's not good, it's scary." I made a mental note to stretch that fact because I don't want to imagine a Vampire telling me to kill myself or jump over the cliff only to end up doing that.

"It's very sca–" Draven gasped and held his chest instantly as if he could feel something extremely painful to pull down his heart which was a very strange act.

Weakness and pain never get along together when Draven is involved, but here he was displaying it right before me to send me into a panicked state.

"Are you okay?" I asked him and he swallowed hard, trying so hard not to groan but his fist was clenched so tightly with his jaw.

"Draven? Say something please, you're scaring me!" I told him and he held my wrist without saying a word and tried to pass the Ash Blood Cave when three men appeared from nowhere to disrupt our movement.

They smelt like fresh Ash, their eyes were almost invisible as I couldn't even detect if it was ash or black but the only unique thing about them was their beauty.

They looked extremely beautiful, one had gold hair which made him stand out with his emerald eyes and the others had natural jet black hair.

"You can't just leave and come as you like just because you're Dragon King, this is our Territory too. We deserve some respect and we protect this place with our lives." The golden haired guy said and the only language Draven was passing was impatience.

"Get the fuck out of my sight and tell that shit to Vladimir, I'm not your King!"

"But you're trespassing! No one can dare enter a dragon Kingdom as he likes just because he has some challenges, we would get slaughtered before we even think about that!" Another added and my skin was suddenly filled with goose bumps at the way they stared at me.

"What do you want? Any time wasted would cost something precious because I need to leave this instant!" Draven's voice was sharp and precise, he felt disturbed and I didn't like it a bit because it also affected me.

"We want her blood, just a little taste." The golden hair guy said boldly while licking his lips and I gasped, clutching Draven's arm tightly.

"You want my chosen's blood?" A dark chuckle escaped his lips and their eyes widened..

"Your..Ch.. Chosen? We didn't know, we were not aware of that and ..."

Oh good Lord!

They didn't get to complete their statement because a tiny wave from Draven's fingers sent their body into flames and they screamed their lungs out.

"Come with me Vixen." He ordered, staring at me to make sure I was fine and acting as if he didn't just roast three men like meat.

"What's happening, you won't tell me." I asked in worry and he bit his lips.

" I need to drop you with Vladimir or Lucian and rush to my Kingdom Someone is raiding it and my people are in danger"

I gasped and shook my head in shock, was that why he was reacting that way? Could it be that he felt the agony of his people and felt restless?

"No, let's go together. We can come back to Scented Skies later."

"No, no baby, that's not happening. You need to be with those punks and I'll feel safe. You're my weakness and they would use you against me. No arguments please, stay with them." He pleaded and I bit my lips hard and nodded.

I wondered who would dare to provoke Draven by trespassing his territory except he has a death wish or something.

We arrived at Scented Skies and it was oddly quiet but beautiful as always.

Lucian came out as if he was expecting us and grinned hard, opening his arms to welcome me and I gladly went to hug him tightly

"Damn! I missed you Angel Don't ever leave again please." He kissed my hair and I relaxed in his embrace.

"If only Vladimir was patient enough and believed my words, he wouldn't have embarked on a suicide journey to destroy Zyon Kingdom!" He said and I froze instantly at his words.
