Chapter 67

Chapter 67
Evelyn’s POV

As much as I want to keep kissing him, I know for sure that matters left unsettled will only come back to attack us in the future. I don’t want any misunderstanding between us.

I threw his shirt lightly, my eyes serious. “Damon, can we please talk about this, I don’t want this to cause any issues for us again in the future.” My voice broke lightly as I said the last part. Just the thought of having to not talk to him again made me feel even more terrible than I thought was ever possible.

His eyes narrowed, and I saw him watching me from under his lashes. His jaw clenched tightly and then he looked away. Was that hurt I saw on his face? I wasn’t so sure.

“Damon, please.” I knew he didn’t want to talk about it, I don’t even want to imagine how bad and angry he felt seeing me with others. But he had to understand that I am his mate, his to keep and not anyone else. I need him to understand that I love him, only him.

“Let me take you home first, we will talk about it then.” His voice sounded tight, so tight that I felt my eyes wail up with tears. I don’t want to feel this bad, but I still felt bad nonetheless.

Damon started the car, driving off with a terrifying speed. I looked away, swallowing the painful lump forming in my throat. I could see how hard he was holding unto the steering wheel; I was hoping that our time away would increase our desire for each other.

A tear slipped down my face and I looked away quickly, wiping the tear off with the tip of my finger, while hoping he hadn’t noticed. But suddenly, the tense feeling in the car suddenly softened.

Suddenly, his big hand covered mine, and then he intwined our fingers. I turned sharply to look at him, caught off guard by his sudden tenderness. He didn’t look at me, he only brought my hand up and placed a warm tender kiss on the back of my hand.

My heart began pounding hard in my chest, swelling with an emotion I couldn’t quite name. He turned to look at me then, his gaze soft, his eyes tender.

“I love you.” He whispered, his eyes holding mine intensely, and then planting another kiss on my hand, he turned back to the road.

A tear finally slipped down my face. I wanted to tell him that I love him too, but the lump that suddenly formed in my throat, was too big to swallow. I turned away, a small smile appearing on my face, this was a good start.

The ride back home was short, mostly because he was driving so fast. He led me into the Packhouse, almost like it was the first time. But walking in with him felt so different, I suddenly felt so alive.

I smiled when the pack members came to greet us, mostly him, with bows, while others had curious gazes as they looked at me. The packhouse had been a little empty when we first came, but now it was night, it was packed with so many members.

I suddenly felt self-conscious and a bit uncomfortable. Damon seemed to have sensed that, and then he drew me closer into his embrace, and told them that he would officially introduce me to the pack tomorrow, saying that I needed rest after the long trip.

It was only after he said that I needed rest that I realized that I indeed needed rest. He led me away, suddenly swinging me off my feet as soon as we got to a more private space, as he carried me up the staircase.

I blushed hard, my heart picking up a terrifying speed as I quickly hid my face in his shirt. He walked a little more, and then I felt him gently kick a door open, and then he stepped into the room, shutting the door behind us.

I looked up then, and was met with his intense gaze on me. My face flushed red, suddenly feeling too hot. His eyes trailed from my face and down to my lips. I swallowed hard.

I wanted him too. Needed him, but we needed to really talk about these misunderstandings between us.

He carried me to the bed, by now I was now saddling him, our eyes still locked. My heart rate picked up, racing as though I had just completed a marathon. He sat down on the bed, and now I am sitting on top of him, our bodies together, and our breathes mixing up.

“I missed you.” He whispered again, so gently and tendering that my heart faltered. I nodded, trying to look calm despite the fact that my thoughts were already messy.

“Damon, about Matt. You need to know that I would never have anything to do with him again, he just came to say goodbyes. I don’t want us fighting about this.” I said this in one breathe, and then I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding, while waiting for his response.

He looked away and then said.

“I know I have been a dk about the matter concerning your ex. I shouldn’t have made you feel that bad, I am sorry.”

He turned back to look at me, his eyes softer than before, and then he reached out to move a strand of my hair from my face, our eyes drawn to each other.

“I love you Damon, only you, no one else.” I don’t know why I said that, but I felt better after saying that. His eyes widened just slightly, and then his lips curved up lightly.

He leaned closer, his lips hovering across mine. “It sounds sexy when you say that, say it one more time.” He teased; his voice sounded so husky.

My face flushed red. I bit my lip subconsciously. “I love you, Damon.” I finally said, but before I could complete it, he reached out and pulled me into a heart withering kiss.

My breath caught in my throat, as our tongues danced in a fierce passion. A long time later, he pulled away, resting his forehead against mine as we both fought to catch our breathes then he whispered.

“I love you little wolf, more than you can ever imagine. You are mine.” Just like that, his lips captured mine again, and that was just the beginning.
