Chapter 175

Chapter 175

I set down the diamond and looked over coldly.

It was a young woman dressed in a Chanel haute couture tweed suit from the current season.

Her blonde hair was styled in elaborate waves, her features striking, but now twisted with extreme rage.

"You're Elena?" The woman, blocked by the bodyguards, could only glare at me from behind the human wall, her eyes filled with venomous jealousy.

Before I could speak, she launched into a tirade, "You shameless whore! A piece of trash who crawled out of a New York slum, and you dare seduce Jocelyn? You think you can do whatever you want in Europe just because you have the Corleone family backing you? Bitch!"

Her voice was deafening, her shrill tone piercing through the VIP room's soundproofing.

The European socialites and staff in the outer hall selecting jewelry all stopped and turned their gazes toward us.

The air fell instantly silent.

I leaned back on the sofa, watching this woman shriek like a shrew, my brow furrowing slightly.

Jocelyn? That lunatic from last night who inexplicably cornered me in the hallway, spouting nonsense?

I stood up, smoothed down my coat, and walked toward her in my heels, unhurried.

Antonio stepped aside slightly, but remained ready to snap her neck at any moment.

"What's your name?" I looked down at her, my tone utterly calm.

The woman thought I was intimidated. She snorted coldly, lifting her chin high, about to speak.

I raised my hand and, without warning, slapped her hard across the face.

The crisp sound of the slap echoed through the VIP room. Her face whipped to the side, five clear red finger marks instantly appearing on her pale cheek.

Complete silence. The socialites outside covered their mouths and stepped back.

The woman was stunned.

She clutched her face, turning back to look at me in disbelief, shock flooding her eyes.

"That slap was to teach you about manners." I pulled a wet wipe from my purse and methodically cleaned my fingers, my gaze cold as ice. "Apologize to me immediately. Also, Antonio, contact the lawyers. I want her prosecuted for public defamation and damage to my reputation. I'll make her swallow every word she just said in a Zurich courtroom."

The woman finally snapped back to reality. The enormous humiliation drove her completely mad.

"You dare hit me?!" she shrieked, her voice nearly piercing eardrums. "I'm Alberta! I'm from the Medici family! You bitch, you actually dare hit me?"

The Medici family.

My hand paused slightly while wiping.

One of Italy's oldest and most distinguished noble families, once controlling Europe's financial lifeline for centuries.

No wonder she dared charge through Corleone bodyguards alone to confront me.

Alberta clutched her swollen face, staring at me with venomous hatred, snarling her warning, "I'm warning you, stay away from Jocelyn! He's my fiancé! If you dare seduce him again, the Medici family will make you pay! I'll make sure you have no place to be buried in Europe!"

Watching her bluster, I found it only laughable.

That disaster Jocelyn had his breakdown, and now he'd led this rabid dog to my doorstep.

I looked at Alberta and suddenly took half a step back.

I widened my eyes slightly, raised my hand to pat my chest, putting on an extremely wary and frightened expression.

"The Medici family?" I softened my voice, injecting just the right amount of fear into my tone. "Oh my God, that's the most terrifying noble family in Italy. I'm so scared."

Alberta, seeing my reaction, thought I was genuinely intimidated by her family's power. She lowered her hand from her face and sneered, "Now you're scared? Too late! Get on your knees right now—"

Before she could finish, I backhanded her with another resounding slap across her other cheek.

This slap was even harder than the first.

Alberta staggered and fell directly onto the carpet, a trace of blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.

I dropped the feigned fear from my face and looked down at her with pure mockery.

"So Medici family members only know how to bite people like rabid dogs?" I stared at her coldly. "You think dropping your family name means I'll indulge you?"

Two consecutive slaps completely destroyed Alberta's sanity.

"I'll kill you! I'll claw that vixen face of yours!" Like a completely deranged shrew, she scrambled up from the floor and lunged at me, her sharp nails aimed straight at my face.

Antonio snorted coldly and kicked her knee.

Alberta screamed and collapsed to her knees again.

Two bodyguards immediately moved forward, pinning her arms behind her back and pressing her firmly onto the carpet.

"Let go of me! You filthy dogs!" Alberta struggled desperately, her hair disheveled, her haute couture suit wrinkled into a mess. Unable to move, she could only crane her neck up, cursing with the most vicious language in impotent rage.

I walked up to her, crouched down, and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look at me.

"Listen carefully. I'll only say this once." I stared into her eyes, my tone ice-cold. "I have zero interest in that psychopath Jocelyn. I have a fiancé—Vincent Corleone. Stop making other people your imaginary rivals. Control your own man. If he keeps sniffing around me like a dog in heat, I'll personally break his legs."

With that, I released her chin in disgust and stood up.

Alberta was forced to look up at me. Hearing my words, instead of calming down, the jealousy and madness in her eyes burned even fiercer.

"You're lying!" she shrieked hysterically, writhing violently.

She fumbled in her fallen Hermès bag and pulled something out, hurling it at me.

"You dare say you have nothing to do with him! Look for yourself!"

A stack of photos scattered in mid-air, falling like snowflakes onto the thick Persian carpet.

I lowered my gaze, scanning the photos on the floor.

The background was last night's second-floor corridor at the lakeside estate.

In the images, I was leaning against the wall, Jocelyn standing in front of me.

The angle was extremely calculated. From the photos, Jocelyn appeared to be looking down at me with intense eyes, while I looked up slightly.

The distance between us was extremely close, the posture ambiguous to the extreme, as if we were about to kiss in the next second.

Every photo captured the suppressed complexity in Jocelyn's eyes with perfect clarity.

I looked at the photos on the floor, my brow furrowing tightly.
