CHAPTER FOURTY SIX
CHELSEA POV
"Let's say we do so, you are going to play by my rules and my rules only," I bargained, seeing his eager face, I began to doubt my decision.
"Is that a yes?" He asked, slowly walking to me. "Don't come closer," I warned. "From now on, unless it's an emergency or unless I make the first move, don't come closer, that's my first condition," I stated.
"Sure, I can do that," He mumbled with a smile. "I will wait for you to come to me from the other end," he gladly added.
He wanted to say more, but his phone rang, the caller causing him to frown. "We have to go now," he announced, standing up.
I wanted to say something about his injuries, I didn't want him stressing it but I didn't want him feeling like I care, so I kept quiet.
Leaving the room ahead so I don't get dragged or pulled away by him. "Let me drive," I proposed when we got to the car, it was the least help I could give to him.
Surprisingly, he didn't argue, he only tossed me the key. "Just tell me when you are tired," he instructed, entering the passenger seat.
"Oh shit, we didn't get you breakfast," He muttered, after a long while. "I will eat when I get home, you don't have to worry, I don't have class today and I won't go to work," I assured.
"Then come to the office with me, I won't waste time, once I'm through with what I need to handle, then we will go out, a date, in public," He offers.
"I don't know Liam, I don't want to go back to your office again, not after," I pause, seeing him smiling at me, rather than getting offended.
"Come and I promise, I will make today memorable to you, but then I will have to break the first rule, I will have to hold you," He informed.
"What are you planning, what's going on?" I asked him. "Just trust me," he mumbled. "Would you park the car first?" He kindly requested.
"Why?" I asked. "You are driving really slow," he complained a bit. I couldn't help but laugh, wondering how long he had kept it in..
"I was tired anyway," I mumbled, parking the car and letting him drive. The insane speed he went for and the quick glances he would steal from time to time, made me not want to stop the car ride.
"See, I got us here faster," he boasted when he packed his car. "You were still slow," I argued.
"Really?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow. "If I wasn't pregnant, I would have been twice as fast," I lied.
"Now you are using the pregnancy as an excuse," He mumbled. "But then, I think it's because you wanted to spend more time with me," he added, bringing out his gun and checking for bullets.
"Liam," I called. "Relax, I would never put the child or you in danger," He muttered, getting out of the car and opening my door.
"Your hands, my lady," he requested in an old fashioned manner. Shaking my head, I gave him my hand.
It wasn't bad today, maybe because I was more curious about the commotion I could hear from miles away or maybe because we were outside.
But when he opened the door, all eyes turned to us. From the stairs above, I saw Natalie standing close to Liam's father.
Before I could grasp the situation, Liam shot close to Natalie's feet, he was aiming for her legs but she was quick to dodge.
"I thought I told you not to step your legs in here?" He asked, for the first time, he was cold but not to me.
"So indeed, you fired her, because of someone like that," He yelled in disgust, pointing at me.
"If you wish to talk to me, she needs to get out or else, security will have to work both of you out," Liam warned.
"Natalie will continue to work here and you have no say about it," his father demanded.
"And what would happen, at this moment, I cut you off, you don't have much power, the bitch you are siding help me get your signature that transfer your wealth and some influential position you hold to me,"
"You are only left with few shares but the income are so little, it won't buy you your power bank,"
"In order word's father, you exist because I want you to exist, and at this point, I control your fate," Liam announces, which surprised everyone.
"Lies," Richard yelled. "Do you really think so?" Liam calmly asked. "But unlike you, I will be lenient and I will give you an offer," He continued, grabbing a chair and having me sit on it.
"You, travel to another city and calmly leave your life, don't interfere with Chelsea's inheritance and for every two years you stay quiet, I will transfer your wealth back to you," he bargained.
"Liam, how dare you treat me like this, I am your father, your only family, you are choosing me," he yelled, but Liam places his hands on his lips, signifying he shuts up.
"One wrong word and you could be dead," He warned. "And yes, I am aware that unfortunately, I am your son and that's why I'm keeping you alive, but as for family," He says, one hand holding my hand and the other on my stomach.
"My family is right here, father, I don't need to look far," Liam continued, our eyes locking for a while.
"So she got pregnant, that's different, do you really think she would forgive you, you and her will never be the same, that night, even though it was unintentionally, I severed the bond between you two," Richard mocked..
The word seems to be affecting Liam as he seems hesitant, his hands shaking a bit. "You think?" I asked, finally having a say.
I didn't want to talk much, I heard actions speak louder than words and I intend to show it today.
Pulling Liam close to me, I kiss him, without thinking much about it. My main aim was simply to prove him wrong, to shut him up and everyone else's and mostly to put Natalie back in her place..
