Ch 31: I'm not important to you, right?

Bella's POV.

Twitching her lips in annoyance, Alexia replied rudely, "You may be the wife of our boss, but the rules of our company apply to everyone. Even the boss himself follows his rules diligently."

I was too stunned to say anything about that overconfident woman. I decided to walk off without getting into an argument, but my feet paused when I heard Alexia spreading rumors about me to other employees.

"Do you know that our boss's wife is a crazy playgirl? She changes men's clothes every night."

"OMG! Is that true, Alexia?"

"Yes, absolutely. I was told by the boss to solve her recent scandals."

"Oh no. Why would the boss get married to someone like her? She doesn't even care about his reputation and dignity!"

"Probably because she's the beloved daughter and heiress of the chairman Austin Dior. He's the billionaire of France. He must have bribed chairman Alden Mcadam..."

I couldn't tolerate their blabbering. I turned back, pulled Alexia by her hair to face me and landed a resounding slap across her face.

The office hall turned into dead silence, everyone's jaws dropped as they couldn't believe what they had witnessed.

"How dare you..."

Before she could hit me back, I grabbed her wrist. Twisting her hand back, I coldly whispered near her ear," Beautiful, this was a warning to you. Next time I will not end up just slapping you."

I loosened my grip on her hand and walked into the elevator to go to the upper floor where my office was assigned.

After an hour...

When I was peacefully relaxing in my office, someone knocked on my office door. I carelessly asked whoever it was to come inside. To my surprise, he was Caspar himself and behind him was sobbing Alexia Stalin.

"President Bella Mcadam, what you did is unforgivable! How could you abuse your authority over my secretary?" he growled at me angrily, his eyes raging.

I was actually expecting this, but Caspar was making it seem like I did something wrong. Getting up from my seat, I stepped close to Caspar and answered," She insulted me."

"You could have informed me first before taking action."

I raised my left eyebrow at his argumentative sentence and said," But I prefer punishing myself who dares to comment on my reputation and dignity."

"Haha," Caspar chuckles and remarks mockingly, "You do care about your reputation and dignity. Wow, I wasn't aware of it, seeing how you've been careless all these years."

"I do care, Caspar. Now get out of my office and let me have some peace of mind."

He looked at me with his emotionless, indifferent  face and ordered, "Apologize for your rudeness to Alexia."

"Excuse me! Why should I? She should be the one begging me for forgiveness."

"Enough. Alexia is not just an employee of my company, but she's the face of Mcadam company and my secretary. I have to restore her reputation," he argued back in a cold tone.

"So your secretary's reputation is more important to you than your wife's? Alright I get it."

I was devastated by his words. The little hope I had in his caring attitude changed today. My eyes unknowingly filled with tears as I looked at him. His expression changed to worry, and he quickly replied.

"What did you get? Don't assume anything weird about me and her!"

He shares a quick glance at sobbing Alexia, indirectly asking her to say something. She looked at me and mumbled," Madam, nothing is going between me and the Boss. He's just possessive over his favorite~ employee."

"Yeah I get it. He's probably possessive regarding you," I repeated Alexia's words while casting Caspar a glance of hatred.

And before he could say anything, I picked up my purse and started to walk out of the office.

"Where are you going?"

"Why do you want to know? Oh, is it because you have to later ask your beloved secretary to stalk me?" I sarcastically asked and left without turning back.

I was mad at Caspar. How dare he cause a scene in my office because of his secretary? Alexia, or whatever her name was, was definitely trying to cause misunderstanding between us, but he was too blind to see her melodramatic truth.

'Oh god! If only I could shoot my bullets at her stupid forehead. My blood pressure isn't going to be normal today,' I murmured under my breath as I walked out of the company and asked the cab driver to drop me at some VIP club.

I could see Caspar following me, but I didn't care about him and got inside the cab. Resting my head on the back seat, I unbuckled my belt to feel comfortable.

BUZZZZZZZZZ...

My goddamn phone kept vibrating with text messages from god knows who. Running my hand inside the purse, I pulled out my device and saw Caspar's message. He was desperately sending the texts while waiting for my reply.

"Wow. First he insulted me in front of his beloved secretary, and now he wants to know what his secretary said to me. The audacity!"

I switched off my phone and threw my phone inside my purse. Soon I arrived at the VIP club. After paying the driver, I went inside the glamorous nightclub of elite Americans.

Thankfully, nobody recognized me there, everyone was busy with their matters, unlike French VIP clubs where the media kept lurking around famous VIPs in disguise.

I found myself in an empty chair beside the beer counter. The waiter offered me some drinks and a handsome blonde man approached me. He asked me to dance, which I agreed to, since it was not polite to decline a gentleman's request. I mean that's what I learned in my etiquette classes in French schools.

"I'm George Bacardi, what's your name beautiful?" he asked politely as we danced.

"Bella."

He smiled and said," Your accent is not American. Are you European?"

"Yes, I'm from France. Nice to meet you George," I said and smiled back.

"I feel the same. Hope you enjoy your time here. Want to drink some wine?" he asked delightfully.

I had some drinks, and suddenly I felt my head spinning. My vision became a little blurry, following an uncomfortable heat. I felt like tearing off my clothes and jumping into a pool of cold water. I held onto George's arm and pleaded, "I think I'm not feeling well. Would you please find me a cab?"

"Yes,sure. Please come with me."

He wrapped one hand around my waist and took me into the inner corridors of the club. There was no one in the corridor and I realized my mistake. I kicked him off me and shouted aggressively, "Where do you think you are taking me?"

"My bad. You have a high tolerance for drugs. Sorry, I'll be gentle with you."

He smirked as he pulled me close. He held my wrists together and pinned me against the wall. I struggled to get free from him, but the drugs were making me dizzy and really hot. I could feel his hands roaming around my body. His lips kissed underneath my neck and slowly moved to my lips.

" No. Please don't kiss me bastard," I cursed.

" She said don't kiss her. Can't you hear her?" a heavy voice of a man thundered there as he kicked George off me.

" Caspar?"
