The box opened wide. He stepped out of the elevator first. He took himself to a room called a chamber with Callista and her two subordinates following.
Kenward turned to look at Callista who was staring at her reflection in the mirror. The door to his room had closed completely and his subordinates had also left his room. His hand moved to ruffle his hair in frustration. The incident where his girl was being embraced by another man danced in his mind. He could not get rid of it as it lingered in his memory.
Kenward undid the top two buttons of his shirt. He felt claustrophobic. This unpleasant feeling came back to him.
Callista raised her head to look at Kenward who was beside her. Her body jerked in surprise when Kenward's fingers suddenly pressed against her cheeks.
"Why do you keep doing what I forbid?"
Kenward kicked Callista's wheelchair with his other hand. "Why? Tell me your reason!"
Callista closed her eyes as Kenward snapped right in front of her. "It happened so fast in front of me. Aric is just my best friend. He was trying to calm me down."
His blood boiled at Callista's excuse which was not enough to quell his anger.
"Calming by hugging?"
Callista nodded her head. She was now trying desperately not to look nervous and scared in front of Kenward.
"Yes. He only did that. There's no other intent behind it."
Both of Kenward's hands settled on the handles of Callista's wheelchair. But a second later he straightened up and kicked Callista's wheelchair hard. Callista's wheelchair was made to slide quickly and ended up crashing into the side of the bed.
Her heartbeat was already uncontrollable. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead. She had made a mistake. She should not have provoked Kenward further.
"Trust me-ahh!"
Callista spontaneously closed her eyes and crossed her arms over her face. There was no pain she felt in her body. She moved her arms downwards to get a sense of her current condition. Her eyes stared fixedly at the glass that slammed into the wall and shattered into pieces on the floor.
"You call that a normal hug?! There is no friendly relationship between a woman and a man!"
Kenward's snarl sounded very frightening. Her palms automatically moved to cover her ears. No, this was too scary for her. She couldn't reach that man. Then what warmth did that man show a while ago? Why be friendly to her if he was torturing her again?
Kenward walked up to Callista which made the girl feel even more cornered. "Who do you think you are, huh? You dare to defy all my restrictions when your life is in my hands?"
Kenward pointed at Callista's face with his index finger.
"You're just the daughter of that asshole man!"
Callista was silent. Was Kenward referring to her daddy? Why did Kenward call her daddy a jerk?
Kenward again flanked both of Callista's cheeks with his grip.
"You are mine. Don't even think about leaving me."
It was only until the third second that Kenward stared at the pair of shrinking eyes before him. He released his grip with a strong jerk. He turned around and quickly made his way to the door. He could no longer contain his anger. It was better for him to go downstairs and approach the cell holding his prey.
Brake! Crash!
Kenward's jolt, which was too strong for Callista who was still recovering, easily toppled the wheelchair to the side out of balance. Her forehead hit the edge of the nightstand and ended up lying on the floor.
Dizziness attacked her. She forced her weak body to sit up. It was unlucky because her hand that was trying to find a handrail nudged the bed lamp. Shards of glass invaded her skin which was not protected by the dress cloth.
Kenward reversed his course. He brought his long legs to full speed. Immediately he knelt before Callista. His facial expression was filled with anxiety when he heard Callista moaning in pain as she grabbed her hair.
"I-Illis, don't grab your hair so tightly." Kenward tried his best to remove Callista's hand from her hair. Not only did Callista's hands move away from her hair, but Callista also closed her eyes and staggered to the side. Kenward swiftly grabbed the unconscious body.
He had made a mistake again. He had made the girl he wanted to take care of since a few days ago become tormented. He had made new wounds all over Callista's body. Why? Why couldn't he restrain the emotions that seemed to burn in his heart?
Kenward lifted Callista's body and quickly rose to his feet. The strides he made were very wide. The man did not seem to be lifting anything because he could run freely.
One thing Kenward could be sure of. He felt regret again that he had never felt before. He just understood how that feeling called regret tore his heart apart. He didn't know how to control it.
"Please hold on, Illis."

"Ric, why did you just leave?"
Feeling called, the man who was leaning his back against the gate turned his head. Seeing someone's presence made him immediately straighten his body. His hand patted lightly on the back of Rheana who was hunched over with a gasp.
"Why are you running around like this, Rhen?"
Rheana glared in annoyance as her question was answered with another question. And what was Aric asking? Who made her run around?
"Of course, it's because of you! You just suddenly disappeared after the play was over. How could you act in such a hurry?"
