Chapter 15 Ensure

"Your death is delayed until tomorrow, ah but you might as well die on your own," Kenward sarcastically picked up several knives and stacked them on one of his forearms.

He approached the man who could only cry and wail. Without further ado, Kenward stabbed the man's arm deeply. He pulled it down to form a line. The knife stopped when it was about to reach the elbow. He let it stay there.

Kenward turned to his other knife which was not yet stained with blood. He stabbed the bulging belly of the man in front of him. Of course, the prey gasped and spontaneously screamed. Kenward smiled at the sight.

His long fingers moved the knife to the right and left, even turning it 360 degrees. The man immediately vomited thick blood from his lips.

"P-please forgive... cough! me," the man begged haltingly.

"Didn't you read the paper agreement you signed when you wanted to join? It states that the punishment for betrayal is death. Only death."

Not wanting to take too much time, Kenward hurriedly moved quickly. He left the knife pressed against the man's stomach. In just a few steps he had reached the woman. The smallest knife immediately sank into one of the woman's smooth thighs.

Kenward, who didn't hear any screams, was bored with it. Turning to the other knife, he stuck it right into her shoulder. Because he felt the knife hit the bone, Kenward then turned in the direction until the tip of the knife pierced out.

Kenward walked back a few steps. A faint smile graced his lips as he saw his two prey looking like art dolls decorated with spikes.

"Well, this is enough."

Kenward walked to the sink and rinsed his hands. He saw his messy appearance in the reflection of the small mirror. He had to change before returning to his company.

Click.

"Don't bother them in the slightest," he ordered the two men standing guard at the door. They bowed respectfully as soon as the boss walked past them.

Four hours passed very slowly for the man who had just crossed the threshold. While loosening his tight tie, he continued to walk through the living room to the elevator.

Within seconds the boxy object deposited its owner on the second floor. The sound of leather shoes touching marble floors accompanied his every step. The darkness of the hallway did not disturb his sense of sight in the slightest. For indeed the darkness was the only true friend that had accompanied him since childhood.

Finally, after hours, the pair of shoes could rest on the shelf. With a single movement, the suit that was neatly fitted was now hanging on the hanger stand. His gaze, which was previously as sharp as a knife, calmed down a little when he saw the beautiful girl who was sleeping on his bed.

Kenward immediately got under the covers. He moved Callista to change position to face him. Fortunately, the girl did not wake up. Instead, Callista pressed herself against Kenward's body, just as Kenward had hoped.

The scent of the girl in his arms somehow calmed him. Not wanting to be apart, Kenward tightened his embrace even more. Even though he had severe insomnia, the intoxicating scent seemed to wake up his sleepiness.

"Good night!" he said in a hoarse voice. He closed his eyelids, which were becoming increasingly heavy.

The quiet streets are starting to get busy again. Although the sun's rays have not yet fully appeared, many people have come out of their resting places to carry out their activities. Public vehicles have passed by to carry out their duties.

Unlike the bustling streets, it was very quiet in the spacious room. But a few seconds later, a pair of delicate eyelids opened. For a few moments, she stayed still.

Callista circulated her gaze to look around. No sunlight had yet entered through the gap in the curtains. She guessed it was still early morning. She then looked to the side, where Kenward was holding her. His regular breathing made Callista shudder with amusement.

Taking action, Callista slowly lifted Kenward's hand that was around her waist. After Kenward's hand was lifted, Callista hurriedly shifted to the side. She sighed once she was sitting on the edge of the bed.

She stretched her hand forward to reach the mineral water bottle on the nightstand. Callista slowly took a sip. A smile appeared on her face. Indeed, there is nothing more delicious than mineral water when you are thirsty.

She wondered at people who disliked mineral water and preferred drinks that had been processed with various flavors.

Callista put the mineral water bottle back on the nightstand. Her gaze was fixed for a moment as she stared at the bottle of mineral water. Memories of last night came back to her. Instantly her stomach felt bad. Were they still alive? Were their other limbs also separated like their legs?

Callista stared at Kenward for a while. Behind his beautiful face, he had a terrible mental illness.

She couldn't wrap her mind around the above, how could one give such a face to a psychopath? A very deceptive face. Other women might be lured to their deaths, but obviously, that would not apply to her. She would never be lured by that face.

She grabbed her pair of crutches. She slowly rose to her feet. At the same time, her eyes accidentally caught a spot of blood on the trash can. Her mind immediately went to the two victims he saw last night.

Were they the same? Suddenly held by this sadistic psychopath to be used as toys? Were they taken to a place of torture? Would she also be taken there someday?

Callista had so many questions running through her head that she didn't even realize she had reached the door. She was silent for a few seconds and then looked back. It turned out that Kenward was still fast asleep.

"I have to make sure," she murmured.

Callista very carefully opened the door to the room and closed it again. She tried hard not to make any noise as she walked. Although it was difficult, nothing is impossible, right?

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Callista immediately cast her eyes around. The mansion's lights had been turned on completely. Surprisingly, there was not a single maid walking around here.

However, due to her keen sense of hearing, she could hear the clanking of someone she guessed was cooking. It seemed like the maids were also busy helping the chef prepare breakfast. This was the perfect opportunity!

Keeping her eyes on her surroundings, Callista walked in the direction she remembered. She was sure her memory was not wrong, as she remembered it in great detail. Are they still alive? She repeatedly asked herself that question.

It was just as she thought. The busy voices were coming from the kitchen. Luck was on her side, even though she passed through the closed kitchen, none of the maids caught her. Continue walking through several rooms. She had to move quickly and carefully.

Her steps came to a halt. She stared at the wide, towering twin doors in front of her. Callista swallowed her saliva with difficulty. Had she made the right decision? But she needed to know all the rooms in this mansion for her future escape mission.

"If possible, I'll save them too," she thought to herself.

Her trembling right hand reached out to touch the doorknob. With slow movements, she pressed the handle until one of the twin doors opened slightly. Satisfying her curiosity, Callista then opened the door to her size.

"What are you doing?"

Badump!
