I woke up to the continuous ringing of my alarm on the nightstand. I switched off my alarm and saw the time was already 5:05 a. m. I rubbed my eyes to get rid of the sleep and made my way to the bathroom to do my morning routine. After twenty minutes, I was all dressed up in my workout clothes.
I left my room and headed to the gym to do my morning exercise. As soon as I got to the gym which is just on the first floor at the corner of the hallway, I started with my warm up exercises. After a good one hour of exercise I felt fresh and headed to the refrigerator which is in the gym to get the water bottle. I drank some water and poured the remaining water on my face to get rid of the sweat. I always feel fresh when I do my workout. My body feels active that way. I grabbed a towel and wiped my face with it.
I went to the pavilion downstairs to get the fresh air. It feels good to get the morning cool breeze. After half an hour, I went to my room to get ready for my office.
By 8:00 a. m. I am all set to leave for my office. I went downstairs to have my breakfast. The table was set up and everyone gathered at the dining table.
“Good morning, everyone” I greeted them and took my seat.
“Ari, you did not answer my question yesterday” my mom asked.
I was confused when she asked that question only to realize that she was talking about that My Love thing, Damn!!!
“You didn’t even ask a question, maa. You expect me to answer for what?” I acted all innocent.
“Don’t act all smart in front of me Ari,” she said with a raised eyebrow. I know what that means. I’m in big trouble.
“Mom, I’m running late. Let’s talk later about this” with that I left the place as I was really running late to office.
As soon as I reached my cabin there was a knock and I knew who it was so without wasting any more time I asked the person to enter.
“Speak” was all I said.
“Good morning Sir, the new intern candidate is here” Ruby said.
I almost forgot that today is her joining as a new intern. Alright! I gained my composure to look intimidating. That’s how everyone knows me.
“Send her to my cabin” with that said, I dismissed her.
Soon after my cabin door closed, I didn't know but thought of looking at myself before she came. I got up and went to my lounge to check myself for once.
As soon as I came back there was a knock on the door.
“Come in” I said with a cold voice.
I didn’t realize that my voice came out so soft as if I was talking to my mom. I cleared my throat. Soon the door was pushed open and there she was.
Immediately, I lowered my head and started to check some files to show her that I was busy. This is a weird action of mine which I have never done.
“Good morning, Sir” she greeted me. Her voice is so melodic to my ears. I just gave a nod to her greeting.
“I’m Prisha Jha, the new intern” She introduced herself. Finally, I couldn’t hold myself and lifted my head to look at her.
In the split second when our eyes met I saw the shock in her eyes and she covered it as soon as it came. Impressive!!
“Take your seat” I offered her. She sat opposite me. I observed her keenly. She has flawless skin. She dressed so professionally. Not bad, I guess she has done some research before coming here. We don’t mention in the offer letter about the dress code so that we can know whether the person is capable of working under me or not.
She was feeling uncomfortable when I looked at her and then I realized I was staring at her from the time she took her seat.
I cleared my throat and started briefing about the rules which I don’t usually do when new employees join. But I want her around me for sometime so I should have a reason to keep her near me.
I noticed that she was very focused on my words. I appreciated how attentive she was in my heart. But I can’t get all these through me as I didn’t get any information on how she is related to that person. I hope you know whom I was talking about.
After I completed the briefing about all the things I asked whether she had any doubts and the only answer I got was “no sir”, damn it!! Can’t she stop giving me one word answers?? I want to hear more from her.
Alright !! I have all the time ahead when I can hear her voice more often so I’ll pass this for now. I asked her to go to her cabin and start working. She left saying “Have a nice day sir”.
