Chapter 133 After Silence
Chapter 133 After Silence
Luca
A dark thought passed through my head as I watched Levi tied to a chair. His shirt was soaked with blood.
Why didn't I snap his skull yet? I should have done that months ago.
Because you're a coward, the voice in my head mocked me. You know how ugly and monstrous she will see you if you kill her favorite man.
Favorite man.
The words stung deep in my heart.
Give me a break! You still care about her after what she has done to you? She broke the legend of the untouchable Il Cativo. Il Don, whose enemies die from a single glare. Do your men still really respect you after their boss was tied to a bed by a woman so she could escape him?
I let out a huge cloud of smoke, still looking through the partition glass between where I was standing and the room where Levi was tied.
"Boss," one of my men said as he entered the room. "Mission accomplished. The house has been completely leveled to the ground, and Ms. Russetti and the young master are completely safe."
I handed him my cigarette and rolled up my sleeves.
"Tell the men to get out of the hostage room," I ordered, my voice low and too calm.
"Right away, Boss," he replied before leaving immediately.
My footsteps echoed across the floor as I entered the silent room, broken only by the fucker's heavy breaths.
He snapped his head up, turning it in every direction, trying to figure out where the footsteps were coming from.
I stood exactly in front of him. Then, with one sharp pull, I ripped the black cloth from his eyes.
Levi blinked several times, his vision struggling to adjust to the light.
The moment his eyes settled on me, confusion flashed across his bruised face.
"...Luca?" His brows pulled together.
"What the fuck is this?" His voice was rough from the beating my men had already given him.
I didn't answer. I simply stood there, looking at him with a slight smile.
His gaze searched my face for a long moment, as though waiting for an explanation that never came.
Then his expression slowly changed, and his eyes narrowed.
"No..." he muttered.
His gaze hardened as the pieces began falling into place.
"The engagement..." He stared at me. "You..." he whispered. "This was all because Mila chose me over you?"
I remained silent.
He studied my face again. Then something almost amused crossed his swollen features.
A quiet laugh escaped him.
"So that's it."
He shook his head slowly.
"I never thought you would lose your mind over your own foster sister. Over a woman who didn't want you."
His eyes locked onto mine.
"You're obsessed with her, man. You need a therapist."
I said nothing.
He wasn't better than me. I realized Mila was using him to build a quiet life. She didn't really love or choose him. She chose her children.
And that really impressed me.
He leaned back against the chair despite the ropes cutting into his wrists.
"You know..." he breathed, "...I actually feel sorry for you."
I raised a brow, still leaning against the wall while the corner of my lips twisted. But I didn't move.
His smile widened despite the dried blood at the corner of his mouth.
"She left you. She chose me and the child in her womb. She wanted me, and trusted me to be her kids' father."
My jaw tightened.
"But I suppose you already know that," he mocked.
I looked at him without a single change in my expression.
"You really are a jerk," I said, my voice very calm.
His smile faltered.
"She's using you, you fool."
Then I turned around to leave.
Levi let out another short laugh.
"I don't care."
My footsteps slowed.
"If she's using me..." he said hoarsely, "...then tell me something."
I stopped.
"Why didn't she stay with you to use you?"
Silence.
"Could it be that she found using me in bed more satisfying than using you?"
My fingers slowly curled into fists as I closed my eyes tightly, fighting my demons not to rip the life out of his eyes then and there.
"And one more thing, Luca," he trailed.
I turned my head slightly.
"When she calls my name in bed..." A smile spread across his battered face. "...she looks..."
Everything inside me went still.
Then...
I turned.
Three long strides.
My fist slammed into his face.
CRACK!
The wooden chair shattered beneath the impact.
Pieces of wood scattered across the concrete floor as Levi's body crashed onto the ground, unconscious before he even landed.
Guards rushed in.
"Boss!"
"Get him treated," I said coldly without looking back. "I still need him alive."
I walked out of the room.
The steel door slammed shut behind me.
An hour later, I was sitting in the VIP room of the nightclub.
Two girls sat beside me, one on my right and the other on my left.
One of the guards entered, leaned down, and whispered in my ear, "Boss. They brought her here."
I nodded in approval.
I crushed my cigarette into the table.
Two female bodyguards pushed her inside.
Mila stumbled into the VIP room.
She looked into my eyes, and I could clearly see the terrified look on her face.
I gave them a slight nod, and they forced her onto her knees.
The two women beside me continued touching every part of my body.
"We have a score to settle, Ms. Russetti."
The big screen next to us turned on, and Levi's live video feed appeared.
