Chapter 43

Leaving the villa as it burned never felt better, Bobby put Abby in the backseat with Beth. Mico was on the passenger side, he got in.

“I’m not sure we should leave them there alone, what if something happens?” Bobby said.

“They are both Alpha’s and pissed off, I don’t think you have anything you should be worried about,” Mico mused. “Besides we were told to go back to the hotel, and that is what we should do. They will come back when they are finished with him.”

“Abby didn’t want us to kill him, it sucks we couldn’t keep that promise.”

“Who said you didn’t keep that promise?” Beth quizzed.

“What do you mean?” Bobby said looking at her.

“Just because I don’t have much of a relationship with my father doesn’t mean he would break a promise. If he promised Abby, he wasn’t going to kill Ryan, then I doubt that is what they are doing. They are probably making him regret doing what he’s done.”

Bobby didn’t say anything he drove away from the smoke-filled and burning villa, he thought it was going to be a lot harder to get to Beth, but he was glad that Abby was there to stop things, he was a little angry with her that she didn’t listen and stay with the Russians, but she stopped Ryan from killing Beth and that in itself was a big thing for him.

“I cannot wait to smell Italy!” Mico mused.

“Me either, I cannot wait to show Abby and Beth our home,” Bobby said driving in the hallway, he couldn’t wait to get things together and get the hell out of there. It was about time; his life was finally going to start. He would get to mark and mate with Beth, he just hoped she wasn’t too messed up from what Ryan did to her. He was still upset that Ryan would even think that making her would do anything for him. He was a selfish bastard and he wished he could have taken out some of his frustrations on him, but he took the bullet out of Abby’s chest.

Once they arrived back at the hotel, Abby opened her eyes. “What happened,” she said looking around realizing she was being carried by Bobby.

“You didn’t listen to me,” he scolded. “But I am glad you didn’t listen because Beth would have been killed.”

“Where’s Beth?” she asked.

“Right here,” Beth said coming into view. “I’m glad you are doing better, you had everyone kind of scared.”

“Sorry, but I had a bad feeling something was going to happen, so I was able to get past the guards and well I ran as fast as I could in wolf form. Looks like I got there just in time.” She half-smiled. “You could put me down I can walk daddy.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes,” Abby said waiting patiently for him to put her down.

“At least my wounds are healed,” she said touching her neck and looking down at her hand. “Those boys were cruel, why did the mark disappear?”

“Ryan killed them for what they did to you,” Beth said. “He killed Johnny too, he went crazy when he found out that you were hurt.”

“Well, I wish you guys wouldn’t have killed him.”

“We didn’t kill him,” Nikolai said coming up behind them. “I made a promise to you, but I force his wolf gone, and left him disabled,” he said kissing Abby on the head. “That is better than death.”

“So now we plan our exit,” Vincent said getting into the elevator with them. “I think we should leave tonight, the sooner the better.”

“I agree,” Bobby said looking at Abby. “I know you want to see your mom, yes?”

“No,” she said shaking her head. “She wasn’t a mother to me, she only cared for herself. I just want to leave here and forget about my past.”

“I’ll get our flights book then,” Mico said pulling out his phone, he couldn’t wait and was excited. It didn’t take him long to book it. “We leave in five hours, better head to the airport now.”

Getting on the plane to go back to Italy was finally happening, Bobby and Mico couldn’t wait to get home. Beth and Abby were both nervous as neither of them had ever been on a plane before. Beth didn’t care about leaving the states, she was excited. Abby was scared she was leaving everything she knew behind. She was leaving her life, her mother who she could care two shits about but at least she knew her. She didn’t know her father, and now she had to get to know him. She was excited to find out he’d not abandoned her; a lie Ryan had fed her all these years.

“Are you ladies ready?” Bobby said with a smile on his face.

“Almost,” Abby said taking the window seat. “I’m scared!”

“Don’t be,” Beth said taking the seat next to her. “You can hold my hand.

“The takeoff is fun, kind of like a roller coaster ride, once we’re in the air, you won’t even notice the difference,” Mico said. “You’ve been on, yes?”

“No. Ryan wouldn’t let me go to those places, he was always careful,” Abby said looking out the window. “I hope we get to do lots of fun stuff and not just Mafia stuff.”

“Well, then there is going to be a first for both of us,” Beth said smiling.

“You are too young to be in mob business, Bobby will take care of having fun with you,” Vincent said. “Now the ride home, and you will get to see where you live. You will get to meet your other pack members and get to start fresh.”

“I can’t wait.” Abby smiled at the thought of finally having some kind of normal childhood even though she was going to be in high school and had already missed out on a lot of fun stuff with her father.

“I promise you are going to have lots of time to spend with your dad, I am going to turn over the Mafia to Mico for a while until Bobby is comfortable with letting you break out of your shell,” Vincent said smiling at her. “No rush though, you two have about thirteen years' worth of memories to build. I expect lots of fun and laughter coming from the three of you,” he said looking at Beth. “Maybe a couple more grandbabies.”

“I’m a too old dad.”

“Says who?” Vincent scoffed.

“I do,” Bobby snapped.

“Well, it doesn’t hurt to practice right?” Vincent says nudging him. “We’re getting ready to land, finally back on Italian soil.”

Abby watched outside as the plane hit the ground, it made her heart go into her throat, but she was glad it was over. She wasn’t sure what to expect when they got to her new home. She was glad everything was finally settled, and she was with her real father.

“We will drive home first, I will show you girls the house, then I will introduce you to the pack and then we’ll settle in for the night.

Beth sat in the front seat, Abby watched as the scenery turned to forest and a more relaxing area of the world. She was glad she was away from the people; it was almost like the villa, but it seemed peaceful. When they arrived, there was no big gate, no guards with guns. It was a Victorian house, with a water fountain in the middle, three cars out front. The color of the house was white with blue shutters.

“This is home now,” Bobby said turning off the car.

Abby was the last one out, she wasn’t sure if she would have a room, she wasn’t sure of anything. Beth and Bobby waited on the porch for her.

“Come on, don’t be scared,” Bobby said. “You have a room here; this is yours too.”

“Really?” she said. Abby wanted to see if he was lying, she hoped he wasn’t. closing her eyes, she took a deep breath. “Now or never,” she said walking up to them.

“Wait!” Vincent said pulling up. “I’m coming too!” he said jumping out of the car.

“Why?” Bobby asked narrowing his eyes. “Something you’re not telling me?”

“Maybe,” he said jumping up on the porch. “Let’s go inside!”

Bobby unlocked the door, the house was lit well, it smelled of Bobby, Beth was happy. She loved his taste in design. It had a black wrap-around couch, with an oversized recliner in the corner. A fireplace, a coffee table. In the kitchen its dark white cabinets, with an island in the middle, perfect for Beth.

“I love the kitchen,” Beth gushed.

“Good this is your space,” Bobby said. “But mine too since I love cooking, maybe you can teach me the American way,” he said winking at her.

“Now our room,” he said walking up the stairs. He opened the double doors, the room was huge, Beth walked in she jumped on the bed.

“You are like a kid in a candy store,” Bobby joked. “Bathroom, closet,” he said pointing to the closed door.

“Now to my surprise!” Vincent said pushing Abby out of the room.

“Surprise father?” Bobby said narrowing his eyes. “You came into my home while I was gone?”

“Yes,” Vincent said smiling big. He walked to the end of the hallway. “I see you never got around to finishing these two bedrooms, so I combined them to make Abby’s room,” he said opening the double doors.

Abby’s mouth opened. “This is my room?” she said with the pink bed in the middle of the room. The room was perfect. Ryan never gave her anything so perfect. He was always dark and Strick.

“Yes,” Vincent said. “When I gave Bobby 30 days to find you, I started this,” he said looking at Bobby. “There are two unused bedrooms for future children.”

“I already told you,” Bobby snapped.

“I told you practice makes perfect. Sex is good, try it!” Vincent said. “I’ll see you at the packhouse. Take some time to get used to being home.”

“I’ll let you get settled,” Bobby said to Abby. “We’ll go to the packhouse here in a little bit.”

“Okay,” Abby said walking into her room.

Bobby and Beth walked down the stairs and sat down on the couch getting to know each other.

A few hours later, they drove over to the packhouse. Bobby was welcomed back, he introduced Beth and Abby to the entire pack. Abby was nervous, Beth was happy. She loved how they instantly treated her like family.

“Don’t worry Abby you will get used to this,” Bobby said hugging her.

“What is that lovely smell,” she said looking around.

“What smell?” Bobby questioned.

“It smells like vanilla and strawberries?” Abby looked around. “Mate,” she growled.

“What?” Bobby said following her gaze.

“You found your mate already?”

“Yes.” She smiled, walking over to the tall boy with black hair dark eyes. He quickly embraced her kissing her.

“Well, that solves one problem,” Beth said.

“What’s the other problem,” Bobby said looking down at her.

“Your father wants grandkids,” she said with a sad face.

“I’m too old,” Bobby said kissing her on the forehead. “But if you want to try, we can.”

“Yes,” she said standing on her tippy toes, with a peck on his cheek. “Let’s try.

TWO MONTHS LATER:

“Bobby!” Beth called from the bathroom.

“What love?” he said calmly coming into the bathroom.

“Look?” she said handing him a pregnancy test.

“I guess this old dog still has tricks huh?” Bobby mused. “We’re going to be parents!”
