Chapter 147 - Lycan Princes Slave Mate

KODA'S POV

''You just don't have a way with women'' I winked, making Maddie giggle. I loved that sound.

''I don't know'' She smiled ''I find him very charming''

''Don't listen to her'' I warned my brother ''She's had no experience with men, she doesn't know what she's talking about''

Tony cleared his throat, and I remembered he was there ''Luna, I need you to carefully lay on your stomach, so I can remove your bandage and reapply the cream''

Maddie looked uncomfortable and looked at us ''Can you both leave''

''No'' Jaxson said, not missing a beat.

''Maddie'' I went over, and sat beside her ''Please don't make us leave, we want to be here for you''

''Besides'' Jax added, as he sat on her other side, and took her hand, and kissed it ''We don't care about your back, nothing will stop us from loving you, or thinking that you're beautiful, because you are, this changes nothing''

She still looked unsure, but nodded ''You can stay''

''How about we begin with your knee'' Tony said with a comforting smile ''If one of the Alpha's will move''

I stood up and offered my spot, as Jax pulled down the blanket to show her wrapped up knee. Tony gently lifted her leg, with help from Jax, and started to unwind the bandage.

''Your healing ability really is amazing'' Tony said in awe, when we saw that her knee was almost fully healed ''You rival an Alpha's healing''

''Will it scar?'' Jax asked.

''No'' Tony answered as he reapplied a strange cream ''Like her face, I cut away the damaged area and stitched the good skin together. There's still damage to the bone, but I'm hoping it's just cosmetic, and won't impact the way she moves or shifts. In fact, I don't want you shifting until you're fully healed''

''Okay'' Maddie agreed, while he started wrapping a new bandage around her knee.

He then proceeded to check her other injuries, and then finally her back was the only thing left, so Jax helped her onto her stomach, and held her hand.

I moved closer to her face, and knelt down. She'd shut her eyes while I ran my fingers down her cheek in comfort, but my eyes were glued to her back. Tony undid the draw strings that closed her hospital gown shut, and than pulled off the bandage that had patches of cream and blood in patches on it.

I tried to breathe normally as I saw the criss cross cut's over her already damaged back, but I was finding it difficult to breathe at all.

I looked at Jax, and noticed his eyes were pitch black, as he was stared at her back ''Keep it together'' I warned him through the link. He didn't respond, he just pressed his face against her shoulder and face.

''This may hurt a little, Luna'' Tony warned her, as he gently applied the cream.

Maddie cringed and groaned, and Jax growled in warning.

''Give her something for the pain first'' I ordered, so Tony went and got a needle. After he injected her and we made sure she couldn't feel anything, Tony continued.

''How long until her back's healed?'' I asked, as he fixed two loose stitches.

''With the way she heals, I'd say by tomorrow, tomorrow night at the latest'' He answered while he finished up ''You may sit up now, Luna''

''Thank you'' She said, as Jax helped her back into a sitting position ''Can I go home?''

''Maddie, you're not even fully healed'' I pointed out, but she pouted at me, and I nearly caved.

''Let's just leave it a few more hours'' Tony said quickly ''Why don't you try to get some more sleep, it'll help you heal quicker''

''Okay'' She gave in, and leaned into Jaxson's arm, hugging it against her body.

Maddie finally convinced us to let her go home after a nap, playing on my love of food, by stating the hospital food was horrible and she'd heal better at home with decent meals, so we called for our car.

We made sure the doctor checked her one last time before leaving, but I guess luck still wasn't on our side, because when we turned the corner, we ran into Ryker and Blake, whose stomach was starting to show. I am so happy that I wasn't actually the father of her child, I don't know what I would have done if she'd been telling the truth.

''Perfect'' I heard Maddie say softly under her breath, so I pulled her hand to my lips and kissed her.

''Why have you left your father's property again?'' Jax asked angrily.

''She had a doctor's appointment'' Ryker answered ''I've already informed your father''

''I don't care'' I snapped ''We had conditions for her release, the doctors will come to you from this day on''

''Yes, Alpha'' Blake said quickly before her father could respond ''Excuse me, Luna'' She turned to Maddie who looked up at her angrily ''I know you don't believe me, but I really truly am sorry for everything, and I hope you're doing okay after what you've been through''

Maddie glared at her, before walking straight past Blake, without saying a word.

''Don't speak to her again'' Jax warned, before we followed after our girl.

She remained silent as we drove home, but seemed to really relax once we were back inside the manor, and we put her straight to bed after dinner to watch a movie. She fell asleep quickly, so Jax shut off the movie, and we snuggled up to her fell asleep.

I reached out, hoping to pull Maddie closer, but I frowned when I couldn't reach her, instead I felt Jaxson's arm, and opened my eyes.

''Maddie?'' I yawned, as sat up, ruffling my hair. After a quick examination of the room, I couldn't see my mate, so I turned and hit Jax in the arm ''Hey, get up''

''What?'' He moaned, but didn't open his eyes.

''Maddie's gone'' I said, as I slipped out of bed.

Jax was up instantly, and looked around like I'd done, he reached out and touched the middle of the bed ''It's cold, she's been gone for a while''

We both pulled on our robes, and followed her scent into the library, where we saw her sitting in the window seat, looking out at the rain.

''Madelyn''

Maddie jumped in fright, and cringed in pain.

''Sh*t, I'm sorry, sweetheart'' Jax said quickly, as we rushed over to her ''I didn't mean to frighten you, did you hurt your back, I can get you a pain tablet''

''It's fine'' She answered.

Jax knelt by her side, while I sat at her feet, and gently rubbed her leg ''Baby, why are you up?'' I asked ''Did you have a nightmare?''

She nodded, and returned to looking out the window ''I'll be okay, you can go back to sleep''

''Don't be ridiculous'' Jax said, as he leaned in and carefully wrapped his arms around her ''We're not just going to leave you here alone while you're upset''

''I'm not upset'' She lied ''I just don't want to sleep''

''Sure, sure'' I smirked when she glared at me ''That thing you did to Lilah, where you took the memories from her, can you do that to yourself?''

''You mean, give the memories away so I don't remember?''

''Yes''

''No, I can't do it to myself'' She answered ''But I wouldn't even if I could. I don't want to forget what a monster Fenrir is, I need to remember, after reading my mother's diary, I always thought he was this broken, sad man to be pitied, but now I know I was wrong, he's a monster, it's probably why the Goddess didn't give him a Lycan in the first place''

''I hate that we're related to that trash who hurt you'' I told her ''If we could take this pain away for you, we would''

''We'd do anything to make you feel better'' Jax added.

''Just being with you both will help me feel better''

''Then please come back to bed'' I pleaded ''You have to rest, you've been through so much''

''It's nothing new'' She commented, which broke my heart ''I'm used to it''

Jax gently grabbed her chin and pulled her face around ''We don't want you used to it, we want you to have a happy, peaceful life, and we're going to make sure you get it''

''I wish I could believe that'' She told him as tears filled her eyes ''But I feel like something's coming, I feel like it's bad''

''We won't dismiss your bad feelings again'' I told her quickly, remembering what she had said about her bad feelings before being abducted ''But either way, we're not going to let anything happen to you again''

''I dreamed you were stabbed again'' She told me and looked at my chest ''I don't want you to go into any gardens, that's where you hurt''

''I can't avoid gardens for the rest of my life''

''You just said you wouldn't dismiss my bad feelings''

''And we won't'' Jax told her ''But if it's going to happen, then it's going to happen with or without a garden, we'll double the guards, and make sure no one comes near Koda when he's around the gardens, okay''

''Okay'' She agreed, as tears fell down her face ''I can't lose you Cody, I can't lose either of you, I know it's selfish, but being with the two of you is the only happiness I've ever known, I was so alone with ou both, and I don't want to be alone anymore''

I felt tears prick my own eyes, and I gently moved her legs over my lap so I could hold her and Jax.

''Shh, you'll never be alone again'' Jax told her ''We'll always be with you''

''We'll literally burn the world down just to be by your side'' I told her ''We love you baby, nothing will ever change that''
