Chapter 36 What's wrong Melissa?
Melissa tried to keep her fears at bay, but they continued to plague her every waking moment. She didn't want to burden anyone with her anxieties, so she kept them to herself.
One day, she received a video call from, Richard. Seeing his face on the screen brought a smile to her face, and for a moment, her worries faded away.
However, as she tried to speak, her voice cracked, and tears began to roll down her cheeks. Richard's eyes widened in concern.
"What's wrong, Melissa? Are you okay?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.
Melissa couldn't hold it back any longer. She poured out all her fears and concerns, telling him about her nightmare and her constant anxiety about something happening to her precious babies.
Richard listened patiently as she talked, and once she finished, he looked at her with a tender expression.
"Melissa, my love, you don't have to worry about a thing. You have my love and support, and the love and support of everyone around you. Nothing will happen to our babies. I promise you that," he said, his voice full of conviction.
Melissa felt a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that Richard would never make a promise he couldn't keep, and hearing his words eased her fears.
"I miss you so much, Richard. I wish you were here with me," she said, her voice soft and wistful.
"I miss you too. I wish I could be there with you, but I promise I'll come home as soon as I can," Richard said, his eyes full of love and longing.
“Please don’t stay too long, I am staying in the hospital because I am scared of being in that house alone even with aunty B. I still have a fear that Lucas might return.” Melissa told Richard as she still thought of Lucas return and knew his next return would be huge.
