Chapter 138 The special one
Melissa smiled after she spoke and carried the tea towards her, sitting down in front of her. She wasn't really good at making tea and she prayed secretly praying that Margaret loved it. She took a sip and glanced at her.
"This is actually less horrifying than I thought it would be," she said.
Melissa didn't know whether to take that as an insult or a praise. She just smiled back weirdly.
“I have a question to ask you actually, " Margret said.
Melissa nodded, indicating she could ask.
"What did you mean yesterday when you said you have a ton of experience?" She asked. "And don't feed me with a silly lie," she warned.
Melissa smiled and exhaled. She knew it would come to this and now she had to decide. Did she want to tell her and trust her, or was she gonna just let her go. Normally, if it was about her leadership, she would have wanted her to stay a billion times over but this was also a matter of her heart and her trust.
Though the fact was there was nothing to distrust about Margaret. She was as straight forward as they come and her emotions matched whatever she said. She didn't hide much things, except for things that were sensitive and sorrowful.
Melissa looked at her again and then exhaled. "This is not the first life I have lived, " she said.
"Huh?"Margaret said.
Then Melissa started to expain, pouring out everything about her reborn to her. Throughout her entire tale, Margaret just kept quiet, looking at her like she was lost in thought. At a point the Luna thought she wasn't listening anymore but that intense focus in her eyes made her realize she didn't miss a single word she said.
Melissa finished narrating and a silence ensued and they just stared at each other for a while before Margaret finally said something. "Your mum was right," she said, then paused, focusing all her intensity on her.
"What do you mean by that?" Melissa asked, she couldn't pass up on anything her mom said about her. Her mom’s words made her feel closer to her.
"She said you were special. She said you were the most special existence in all of Dunham, " Margaret said. "I thought it was just a thing she said because you were her child, but she meant it literally, " she said.
Melissa smiled. "So will you stay now?" She asked.
"Oh, oh! You are my experimental rat right now. I am gonna stay, I wanna see how your story ends," she said.
Melissa exhaled and then got up. "Are you ready to work now?" She asked.
"What, hell no!"Margaret complained. "I just had a midly good morning tea," she said. "I will need a cup of coffee to balance it all, then my morning yoga to keep this hot shape in check.”
Melissa raised her brows the moment she said hot shape. This woman had no filters.
"... Then, I will freshen up. So in two hours," Margret concluded, lifting herself to the table to indeed get a cup of coffee.
"Good," Melissa said, wanting to add another thing but she could only open her mouth agape at the amount of coffee she was pouring into the little tea cup. Then she opened her mouth wider when ahe threw in up to six cubes of sugar in it.
She glanced up at Melissa. "Is there a problem?" She asked Melissa and the queen shook her head quickly.
"Call me once you are done, thanks, " she said, turning on her heels and exiting the room. That went better than she'd initially expected.
She walked back to her room, and by the time she was there, Richard was there doing some exercise. He was currenly doing a push up while Vanessa and Candice were standing on him. Somehow he was lifting them up with just two fingers on the floor and he wasn't even shaking at all. He wasn't half turned, so Melissa was sure he wasn't using his full wolf strength at all. She shook her head and greeted them.
The moment she entered, he stopped and got up, while Vanessa and Candice giggled in response. "Hey, babe," he greeted. "What were you up to?" He asked.
"I went up to see Margaret and made sure she wasn't actually leaving. And I see you and the girls are having a good time," she commended.
"Stop phrasing it like that," Richard said, dropping his eyelids. "They just helped me exercise," he said.
"But I could hear giggling sounds from the hallway, seems like they were enjoying it," she teased further.
"Your majesty, " Vanessa quickly said. "You need your nails clipped," she smiled and grabbed her hand and forcing her away.
Melissa chuckled before exploding in laughter. She'd remembered few months ago when Vanessa could barely speak to Richard, she saw him like a god in human form. The demon wolf; that moniker made Richard seem scareier than he actually was- Though he was indeed scary, the demon wolf puts him on a scaale higher than normal, increasing the respect and fear he was given.
"What about Hance and his beta?" He asked. "Have you gone to check on them?" Richard asked.
"No," she said. "I am going to go see them, but I want us all to go together, they will probably be deciding what to do too," she said. "I hope their decision is favorable for us," she said.
"How about the vampires downstairs?" Richard added.
"I got information from the guards guarding them, all is well," she said. "They are still unconscious, " she smiled.
Richard nodded and continuesd his training with Candice alone standing on his back while Vanessa wickedly clipped Melissa’s nails.
A while later, Melissa was relaxing when a knock came on the door. Richard was bathing this time and their maids had already left. She opened the door only to meet Hance and his beta, with Beatrice, Avalors and Margaret standing behind them.
"We need to talk," Hance said.
"We sure do," Melissa replied, allowing them entry.
