Chapter 124 Drive through

Chapter 124 Drive through
Beatrice stared at her for a while probably trying to discern something but then she shook her head and just exhaled. "If you intend for me to tell you all of my secrets, that isn't happening," she said softly- tired even. She closed her eyes, exhaling.

Melissa could understand a bit of what she was facing and that was why she felt she could help. Melissa herself had gone through a lot of things and she knew talking to people doesn't help at all. Finding solutions is what helps and solutions come in different phases. She looked at Beatrice and decided she'd just go through it.

It was about four o'clock in the evening and the sun would soon go down completely in an hour. If she was going to soothe and help Beatrice out, she needed to get her into a willing state in an hour. She got off her bed and then leaned forward dragging her forward.

"Why am I getting dragged?" She asked in a harsh tone but her face was just tired.

Melissa didn't reply, she just half dragged her till she was half running and half walking behind her. "Your room is too dull, I will have Vanessa and Candice organize some boys to get the whole thing painted," Melissa said, making a mental note.

"No," Beatrice instinctively said. "Black and white is perfect for a room atmosphere. It prompts me to work and also fits with any color I bring in," she argued.

"Yeah,.. no," Melissa chuckled. "You really need to walk with me more, I can't have my best friend running around in black and white," she shook her head as they walked out.

They walked past lots of people and everyone was glancing at them, Melissa was wondering what was wrong when Beatrice spoke.

"I think still wearing a sports bra is a bit awkward," Melissa glanced down and realized what was wrong.

They took a quick detour into her room and Melissa helped her select clothes to wear. The cloth was a serrated looking skirt and a blouse that was a bit baggy. The skirt was green and the top was lemon. It was shiny and seductive. Beatrice wanted to complain but she knew she won't get anywhere with it, she was too tired to even start that.

Melissa on the other hand wore a pair of baggy trousers and a sweatshirt. She smiled when Beatrice came out of her bathroom after dressing up. "You look too good in this," she said. The councilwoman's reply was a cold glare that made her chuckle further.

They left the room and went out to the garage where her car was parked. They entered the car and drove off. Their drive was silent for a while till Melissa got to a certain area of the main road. She was sure no one really passed through the area, as it was only reserved for royal transports. Melissa glanced at Beatrice with a wicked smile before slamming her legs on the accelerator.

The car sped forward and she could hear Beatrice scream as she laughed. The entire road became blurry as they sped forward at top speed. Unlike usual cars brought from the human world, Melissa's car was custom made. It was made for wolves and its speed limit was nine hundred kilometers per hour.

Although Melissa was still in perfect control due to her own hyperactive state, Beatrice who was depressed jolted up immediately. "Stop, you stupid girl," she screamed.

Melissa slammed the breaks suddenly and Beatrice lunged forward but Melissa grabbed her and pulled her back. She got out of the car immediately and stopped. "Are you insane?" She asked.

Melissa got out and rushed towards her and took off her hands and dragged her to the driver's seat. "Get in and drive," she said.

Beatrice gritted her teeth. "What is it you are getting at?"

"Me?" Melissa said. "I am just being stupid as usual. "Come on, let's go," she said.

Melissa entered through the other side and sat beside her. "Give it a try," she said.

"No," Beatrice said. "I am not driving recklessly," she said adamantly.

"Oh, but you will drive recklessly for me today," Melissa smiled and then stared at her. "Move," she smiled and Beatrice exhaled and moved the car. At first the car was moving at a normal speed.

She was trying to steady herself, her mind was running through calculations subconsciously. Was her posture okay, was she holding the steering at the best distance to each other.

"You know, calculating everything to the precise point is cool but sometimes, just let go," she said. "Press the throttle, Beatrice," Melissa urged her on.

She looked at Melissa and then shook her head. "I can't," she said. "There are too many variables, what if…" she started.

"So you are a slave to precision?" She asked. "I knew it, everyone has an addiction," Melissa teased.

"It is not an addiction," Beatrice shot back. "It just helps…" she said.

"That's exactly what Tyrone used to tell my dad about Cannabis," Melissa said. "He died of an overdose about seven years ago, a nice man but he couldn't get over his addictions."

Beatrice looked at her, "you want me to press the throttle, fine I will press the throttle," she said slamming her legs on it.

The car bustled forward and Beatrice left the steering as they went forward. The car drifted off the road and she quickly held it back.

"Whoooohooo," Melissa yelled and Beateice did too.

They sped along the road and before the councilwoman knew it, she was into it. She was going farther than normal. "Have you ever done a drive thru," Melissa asked.

"No," Beatrice yelled back. "What is that?"

Melissa reached under her seat and brought out a gun model. It was a semi automatic model, with fake bullets. She turned the gun out the window and told Beatrice to increase the speed, which the woman gladly did. She shot through the glass window, yelling. When suddenly, Beatrice drifted the car.

The car rolled on a spot as Melissa fired the model, enjoying the entire thing more than the person she wanted to help. The car stopped at last and they both laid their head on a headrest. "We should do this often." Melissa said.

"I agree," Beateice replied and turned to her. "Thank you… for everything." She said.
