Chapter 62
“Guys, this is my boyfriend, Kaden.” I smiled.
They jumped away from me and turned to him.
“Dayummmm!” Carey yelled, eye raping Kaden.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, “Um, Hi.”
“He’s HOT!” Carey yelled at me.
“I knoooooow!” I chuckled.
Talia was looking at him with narrowed eyes while the boys were glaring at him.
Kaden smiled and waved, “Nice to meet you guys.”
The boys walked towards him, trying to look menacing.
“What do you want with my sister?” Kyle asked, standing in the middle of Jimmy and Rick.
“What do I want with Cora?” Kaden asked confusedly.
“Did I stutter? Why are you dating her?” Kyle growled angrily.
“Ky!” I snapped. They ignored me.
“Because I love her.” Kaden answered truthfully.
“Awwwwww!” Carey and Talia squealed, jumping up and down.
“Do you really love her?” Rick asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
“With all my heart.” Kaden smiled.
“I like you!” Jimmy exclaimed, hugging Kaden. Jimmy always likes everyone. He’s such a weird boy.
“Thank you.” Kaden chuckled nervously as he looked at the still glaring Rick and Kyle.
“Go pack your things.” I said to the girls. They nodded excitedly and ran down the hall.
“Rick, Ky, leave him alone.” I sighed, walking up to Kaden. Jimmy released him and ran off to his room to pack up.
“What’s your purpose for being with my big sister?” Rick inquired suspiciously.
“To…marry her.” Kaden said slowly as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
They watched Kaden's every movement suspiciously with slits for eyes. And then all of a sudden, they shrugged casually.
“Cool with me.” Ky shrugged.
“Yeah, that's fine by me too.” Rick nodded.
“Go pack.” I said nodding towards the hallway which Jimmy ran through a minute ago. They nodded and walked down the hall.
“That was fun.” Kaden laughed, pulling me to his chest playfully.
“Yeah. They’re really weird.” I chuckled, “I just don’t know where they would stay. I mean, I can’t leave them here with those monsters.” I whispered, my voice breaking at the end.
Michelle and Sylvester were monsters who didn't deserve anything good. I would never wish bad things on anyone but they deserved pain and suffering. They weren't fit to be parents or guardians.
“We’re going back to my house soon. We have extra rooms. They can stay at my Dad’s until we go.” He offered.
I looked up at him, “You don’t have to do that. No.”
“You’re happier with them. They’re your family which makes them my family now. Also, they're a part of the pack now.” He smiled.
“I’m not sure that’s a secret you’re supposed to tell everyone.” I said with a serious face.
“Family can know.” He kissed my forehead.
I nodded, “Only till I can get them a place to stay. Ty is 17 so he can watch them. Also Rick and Carey are 16.”
“Carey looks 19.” He pointed out.
“I'm sure she would love to hear you say that.” I laughed heartily.
I detangled myself from him and pulled him down the hallway. The girls' room was first. I poked my head in and saw that their room was almost bare. Chuckling, I went to Jimmy’s room. He was frantically shoving clothes into his suit cases.
“Hey there, calm down, little man.” I laughed.
He jumped in fright, “Don’t do that!”
I shook my head and went to Ky and Rick’s bedroom.
“Where do you think we’re going?” I heard Rick ask.
“I don’t know but I hope it has a pool and our new school has hot girls.” Ku shrugged.
“Yeah, I hope it does too.” Rick agreed.
Kaden wrapped his arms around my waist, “I have a pool at my house and there are very hot girls where I live.” He laughed.
I elbowed him, “Shut up!”
“I was just kidding!” He groaned in pain.
“Hell yeah!” Rick and Kyle yelled, high fiving each other.
I laughed and hooked my arm around Kaden’s neck. He sighed into my ear and tightened his hold around my waist.
“What’s going on here?!” I heard the infamous voice roar.
The boys stiffened and tears came to their eyes immediately. I heard whimpers down the hall.
I got out of Kaden’s arms and walked out of the room faster than he could say Jack. At the end of the hall was Sylvester, holding Carey's arm tightly.
“Hey, Sylvester. Long time no see.” I laughed and waved casually at him but deep down, I was burning with rage.
Michelle was standing behind him, looking down at what I didn't really give a shit about but her head snapped up when she heard my voice.
“What's up, Michelle?!” I asked, walking towards them.
“Cora.” She sneered.
“Cora? That bitch we used to watch?” Sylvester asked Michelle.
Michelle nodded, glaring at me, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to take my siblings home.” I stated authoritatively, standing a few feet away from them.
“This is their home!” Sylvester yelled like the mad dog he is.
“No. I am their home. Wherever I'm at, that's their home.” I spat, curbing my anger through gritted teeth.
He turned to Carey and yelled in her face, “You’re not going anywhere!”
She whimpered and tried to pull away. My rage was growing quickly. He suddenly slammed his lips against hers and I took off with inhuman speed. I pushed him off her and he fell back, on top of Michelle.
“Go finish packing.” I said to Carey.
She stared at me in shock and nodded, scurrying back into her room. Sylvester got back up. Painfully, might I add.
“You bitch!” He yelled, lunging at me as fast as he could.
I stepped aside when he got really close to me and he flew into the ground. He got back up and I slammed him into the wall.
“Who’s the prey now?” I growled in his face.
He got ready to spit on me.
“Try spitting on me and I swear I'll cut your tongue off and make you eat it while I watch.”
I could feel the rage inside of me threatening to take over and I tried my hardest to control it before doing what I would regret.
Fear flashed in his eyes before he masked it, “Whatever, little bitch! You’re still MY PREY! And Caroline is too.” He smirked, looking over at Carey who was staring wide eyed at us.
I grit my teeth, “We're not so sure about that now, are we? Because, obviously, you're the prey here.”
He tried to get free but I tightened my hold around his neck and he started panting.
“Mi–Mich-elle! Get this b-b-itch off me!” He yelled helplessly.
I heard Michelle get up as she started running towards me. I held my other hand up and caught her by her neck, slamming her against the wall; the whole time, looking at the panicked Sylvester.
“I’m not the little girl I once was, Sylvester.” I whispered to him, “But I wasn’t scared of you then and I’m not scared of you now.” I added tauntingly.
He was beet red from the lack of oxygen while Michelle was struggling. I let Sylvester drop and he started gasping for air. I moved to stand in front of Michelle.
“Michelle, it’s great to see you.” I smiled, “…Not really, just thought I’d say it.” I shrugged innocently.
She weakly raised her hand and punched me in the face. I laughed softly.
“You can’t hurt me.” I laughed, shaking my head, “Can’t believe you thought you could.” I added, chuckling.
“Tell me, how does it make you feel to be the one in need? The one in danger?” I growled, I could feel my eyes changing as the rage took over me slowly.
“I’m not in danger!” She choked out.
“But you are.” I laughed, letting her go.
I looked around and all the kids were staring at me in shock while Kaden was laughing. Jerk.
“Go finish packing.” I said, sitting down on the ground.
“What the hell just happened?!” Ky yelled.
“I’ll explain everything later.” I sighed exasperatedly.
“No! Tell us now!” Ky yelled, crossing his arms over his chest.
“First of all, little boy! Don’t you DARE yell at me! Second, finish packing NOW!” I yelled, glaring at him.
He flinched, “What happened to you? You never yelled at me before.”
“You yelled at me first.” I shrugged.
His eyes watered and he stomped into his room, followed by an angry Rick. They slammed the door shut. I sighed and ran my hands down my face. Great. Now they’re angry at me.
Kaden sat down next to me, “You alright?”
“Yeah.” I said, exhaling loudly.
“Cora?” A timid voice asked.
I looked up to see Carey standing a little awkwardly. “Yeah?”
“Thank you.” She smiled and ran into her room. I nodded even though she couldn’t see me.
“I’m going to go talk to the boys. Can you watch the girls?” I asked Kaden as I stood up.
He jumped up, “Yup.”
He walked into their room and I walked over to the boys’ room. I turned the door handle and pushed it open.
They both looked over and glared, “Get out.”
“Rick, can I talk to Ky alone?” I asked pleadingly.
Rick looked at Ky as he shook his head.
“No.” Rick answered.
“Fine. I’ll talk to you both.” I said, shutting the bedroom door.
I walked over and sat on Kyle’s bed, across from them.
“Talk.” Kyle glared.
