His Power

As I step into the room, Sage runs to me.

"Are you okay?" She looks over me.

"Yes, why?" What happened? I look around, confused.

"You disappeared." I laugh at her words. "I mean it, Elara. Darius was on the warpath. He assumed you had come back and came searching all the rooms for you and Kellan. He was freaking out."

"I'm fine, we weren't gone long."

"Elara, you were gone for eight hours!" I stare at her. We can't have been. At the most two, it didn't feel long at all.

"It honestly felt like nothing."

"It does when you're in your wolf form; it's easy not to realise the time passes by. Just be careful. Darius was ready to kill Kellan."

"I didn't know." I hadn't. They were fine today and didn't look like they had fallen out. She pulls me over, and I sit with her and the others and eat. Again, because somehow I'm starving.

Everyone is staring at me. Can they sense I have my wolf?

"You and Kellan ran away with each other. How cute." Callista laughs, and I don't reply because we didn't, but I guess Darius going on a rampage kind of made it look like we did.

She stands up and leans over. I watch her knock the jug, the juice going over me. I jump up, and Winter growls. I feel someone grab me.

"Don't kill her." I still when I hear Darius.

Everyone is now staring with their mouths open. "Y-you...have your wolf?" Lyra steps back.

"I do, so what are you calling me next, as mutt won't work," I growl at her, and Darius pulls me back.

"Please continue your breakfast. Elara, you're coming with me." Darius pulls me out. "What happened to you being an emotionless alien?" He chuckles slightly and pulls me further away.

"She did it on purpose." Even I know Callista knocked the jug over on purpose.

"Okay, but usually, you wouldn't have tried to kill her."

"I didn't try and kill her."

He laughs. "No, because I grabbed you. It was a good job that I followed and watched. Get changed." He stops and points to my door. "Something you can move easily in. You're training, so hurry up." Walking in, I go through and find some exercise clothes.

Getting them on, I walk back out, and he is still waiting. He walks, and I follow.

"I'm sorry." Partly for almost attacking Callista and partly for disappearing.

"You don't need to apologise when you're in control of your wolf. Things like that won't happen. Sure, you might have a few bad words with her, but attacking her? Unlikely."

Nodding, I smile at him. "I also meant the disappearing last night. I didn't realise I was gone for so long."

"Elara, I should have thought. It's not your fault."

"Or Kellan's." He can't blame him.

"Or Kellan's. You haven't had your wolf for most of your life. It was obvious you would be gone for a while. Right, in." He opens a door and I step into the gym.

"So what are we doing?"

"Now you have your wolf. You have strength. That needs dealing with. You need to learn how to fight, to defend yourself."

I should be fine.

"Look, what happens if someone takes out the guard outside your room and replaces him like Aurora had you? You won't know until they attack. While I want to believe you won't be alone, it's not guaranteed."

"Fine."

"It's also good that you know your own strength; then, with things like today, you might not be so quick to hurt someone." All I do is nod.

"Right, stand on the mat. I'm going to lock my arms around you, and you need to break free." My eyes roll, standing on the mat. I wait and feel his arms wrap around my body.

His breath washes over my neck, and I moan. "Elara, focus. You're meant to be breaking out of my hold."

"How?" I don't know how to.

"Use your head." He finishes talking, and I swing my head back, hearing him groan. "I meant brain. Use your brain and consider ways to escape. Shit." He groans and releases me.

"Sorry."

"It's fine. I should have considered that you would have taken that as me saying use it. Did it not fucking hurt?"

"A bit." Not much at all.

"Right, try again. This time, don't headbutt me. We know that would work." His arms wrap around me again. Okay, use my head, not physically.

Moving, I pull his hand, and he struggles to keep it wrapped around me. He moves and entwines his fingers over my stomach, so I can't remove one easily.

Wrapping my hands around his arms, I push them forward. It gives me a bit of room. Darius though tightens his hold. It's hard. He's too damn close, and my mind keeps going to other things that aren't escaping.

"You're not even trying." His words annoy me. Moving, I push my arms between his and my stomach. Raising them, I scream at the pain, but it works. I force his arms up, turning. I swing my knee between his legs and watch as he jumps back to avoid the hit. "I was joking. Don't try to kill me."

Standing, he laughs.

"I wasn't trying to kill you." That just pissed me off, I was trying.

"Okay, let's go again. This time, you can't use the same move." His arms wrap around me again. I try to turn, but my body and wolf don't want to fight to get his hands off me.

Turning in his arms, I smiled up at him.

"What are you doing?"

What am I doing? Why did I even turn? His hands are just above my ass. I feel him release me and step back.

"You and Winter need a time out. I'm getting a drink." I watch as he goes. I didn't even do anything. Sitting down, I wait, and ten minutes later, he walks back in.

"Ready to continue?" I nod and stand. "Focus and figure out a way to break free." His arms wrap around me, and I consider the ways to break free.

There are ways, but I'm done following his rules.
