Chapter 27 Coward

Chapter 27 Coward
Lina's POV

I slid my lips down his length, hollowing my cheeks as I took him deeper, savoring the way his grip on my hair tightened. His hips jerked slightly, and I pulled back just enough to tease him with the tip of my tongue, relishing the way his breathing hitched.

"Damn it," he groaned, his muscles tightening. "If you keep that up, I won't last."

A wicked grin curled my lips as I looked up at him through my lashes. "Good," I whispered, my voice dripping with challenge.

Before he could respond, I took him deeper again, setting a relentless pace that had him cursing under his breath. His groans filled the car, raw and uncontrolled, and I reveled in the fact that I could reduce him to this...a panting, writhing mess beneath me.

Just as he was teetering on the edge, I pulled away, leaving him throbbing and desperate.

"Lina," he growled, frustration evident in his voice.

I licked my lips slowly, savoring the taste of him. "What's the matter, Noel?” I laughed. “Can't handle a little payback?"

He shot me a dangerous look, grabbing my arms and pulling me back onto the bed again in one swift motion. His body pinned mine, and I gasped at the sudden shift.

"You're going to regret that," he whispered, his voice a low rumble that made my skin tingle as he spread my legs farther apart.

Before I could respond, he thrust into me, deep and relentless. The pleasure was instant and overwhelming, stealing the air from my lungs.

Then suddenly he flipped us over and in a swift motion, I was on top while he was the one lying on the bed.

"Bounce on it, Lina," he growled, gripping my hips and guiding me into a rhythm. "Make me cum."

I clenched my jaw, determined not to let him see how much I craved him. But the way he filled me...so perfectly, so completely...made it impossible to hold back.

His hands tightened on my hips, his thrusts becoming more erratic as we both raced toward release. My body trembled with the intensity, and I could feel myself spiraling toward the edge.

"That's it," he groaned. "Cum for me, Lina. Now."

With a final thrust, I shattered around him, a cry escaping my lips as waves of pleasure crashed over me. Noel groaned, his release spilling inside me as he buried his face in my neck.

I fell flat on his chest and for a moment, we lay tangled together, our bodies slick with sweat and exhaustion.

"You're insane," I whispered breathlessly.

He chuckled against my skin. "You love it."

And damn it, I did.

I missed this crazy moment of us.

When it was over, Noel pressed his lips to my forehead and held me like I was the only thing keeping him grounded.

“It's okay. I'm here now.” He whispered softly as he stroked my back while I was still laying flat on top of him.

My nipples poked his chest and I was scared that it was going to turn him on. If it diyes, then I'm as good as dead, because hell, Noel will fuck me black and blue until dawn.

I pulled away and started to pick my clothes up one after the other, sliding them on with a tired exhale.

"I'm sorry." Noel suddenly mumbled behind me. He was still butt-naked and he wasn't even making an attempt to put on his clothes.

I didn't say anything, I couldn't. I was exhausted, and I loved it.

After a while, Noel noticed my silence, he leaned closer, his lips grazed my bare back as I tried to put on my bra. Then he stopped me at once, “What is it, Lina. Did I go too far?” He asked softly, his hands didn't stop caressing my arms.

I tilted my head slightly like I was looking over my shoulder, then I smiled softly, “No, Noel. It's okay. We wanted this and…I loved it. Please stop feeling bad.”

Noel nodded slowly and smiled at me. Then he kissed my back and pulled away.

He stepped out of bed and started to fumble for his own clothes too.

Despite the fact that I started dressing up before Noel, he ended up getting done before me.

So he leaned against the bathroom door and continuously stared at me as I dressed up. His eyes wouldn't leave me and the only thing I could do was to ignore him.

"Lina, are you sure you're alright?" He'd asked.

I'll nod my head just once and continue to dress up slowly.

"I'm sorry if I went too far." He finally said.

I didn't say anything still, I continued to dress up lazily.

I was satisfied, I loved it.

I didn't just want to show it too much.

After what seemed like eternity, I eventually finished dressing up.

I glanced up at Noel, his eyes were heavy with something like concern.

“I'll be heading out,” I said smoothly and grabbed my bag to leave. But Noel grabbed my wrist at once and carefully yanked me backward and I stumbled into his arms.

“What's wrong?” He asked.

I looked straight into his eyes, then I whispered, “Nothing, Noel. Just let me go.”

“We're leaving together. We've to leave this place. In fact we're flying out of the country. I booked a flight for us already.” Noel blurted.

I shot a sharp glance, then I yanked myself away from his grip, “What are you up to?” I asked with furrowed brows.

Noel stepped closer to me, his eyes still filled with worry.
“Lina, you’re not listening to me, are you?”

He looked around, let out a heavy sigh, and then said quietly but urgently,
“Lina, this case—it's a trap. These children aren’t missing; they’re bait. A setup to push us into something that could destroy everything… that could bring an end to our story.”

He took my hands, voice trembling.
“Please, Lina. Trust me this once. We can leave together—forget we ever lived this kind of life. Please don’t involve yourself in this. We can still walk away. We can still fix things. Just…come with me, please.”

I shook my head pitifully, then I yanked my hand away from him, then I said, “I think you're crazy, Noel!” I fired back, sounding almost too aggressive. It was as if this wasn't the same man I just had sex with, but that doesn't matter now. What matters is the fact that Noel still remains a coward and he is trying to pull me into his scheme this time around.

“Lina—” I didn't let him finish talking before I cut him off mid-sentence.

“Just stop, Noel.”
The words came out of me like poison.

I let out a bitter laugh.
“You never change, do you? God, Noel… you’ll always be a coward.”

His face tightened, but I didn’t stop.

“You hear me? A coward. You always have been. You always will be.”

I was slow with my words just to ensure that each word sank into his brain just like I wanted it to.

Then I stepped closer, pointing a trembling finger at his chest.
“When the world needs you the most, you run. When things get hard, you vanish. When people depend on you, you disappear into thin air.”

My laugh broke again, sharper this time.
“And now what? You want me to run with you? You want me to hide just because you want to hide?”

I shook my head slowly, disgust twisting through my voice.

“So that’s it? You want us to be partners in cowardice? That’s your grand solution?”
My eyes burned into his.
“Two pathetic quitters holding hands and pretending it’s love?”

I stepped back slowly, shaking my head, then I scoffed and said, “You really haven’t changed, Noel. Not even a little.”
