“Baby!” Uriel and Lucifer had reappeared in front of the portal of the Underworld. The dark stones and the beautiful flowers that Uriel had stared in awe at just seven months before waved into the breeze she created as she skipped along the stones. Luci’s wings help catch up to her, grabbing her by her waist.
Hanging torches set the Underworld Palace to light, the red moon of the Underworld casting a glow of mysteriousness. It was nothing that Uriel wasn’t used to now. She and Lucifer spent every weekend in the place while during the week they explored both the worlds of Earth and Bergarian. Most recently, visiting the island of Hawaii while Poseidon tries to gain favor with his mate.
“I can’t believe Mariah had the baby already!” Lucifer wrapped his arm around Uriel’s waist. He stayed true to his word. There was never a moment he let her out of his sight. Uriel often complained but secretly, deep down, she loved his possessiveness and how he took care of her. It took her worries away when she was around and could be herself.
“No running,” Lucifer grumbled in her ear, “or that ass is going to be a brighter red than that sunburn on your cheeks.” Uriel snickered. She wasn’t at all afraid of Luci’s threats. Uriel had found a whole new side of herself since the night of their ceremony, finding not just she had a playful side but a bratty side.
And she liked it.
“Is that a threat, sir?” She snickered again, wiggling out of his hold. “Damn right,” he growled in her ear, nipping it harshly. “And don’t make me think I won’t do it in front of all these people.”
The ceremonial Baby Announcement Party had the entire Celestial realm up in excitement. The War God Ares had made such a fuss over Mariah during her pregnancy. He made sure that the party was going to be out of this world. He made sure Dionysus was there, setting up drinking games, a smoking bar, and even a playground for any kids that may show up.
Ares has been the perfect father for Mariah, maybe even being more overbearing than he should be. She wasn’t allowed to walk after the night they found out about the pregnancy. He washed her, bathed her, and read stories to her stomach every night before they went to sleep.
Ares even dared not to make love to his mate, but caved on the third day when Mariah had gone through a spout of absolute horniness and begged for his cock. He couldn’t deny her that, and with plenty of encouraging words from Parisa, it was perfectly safe. They made it a daily, sometimes three, four times daily, occurrence.
He found her pregnant body insatiable.
Streamers of green and yellow hung in the halls, balloons, cakes, alcohol, and even-shirts that sat at the door for people to wear in pink or blue so they could let everyone know if what they thought was a boy or a girl.
The crowd had settled in the foyer, everyone with a drink in hand as they toasted to each other how well the Celestial Kingdom was faring after the scare of Kronos. The palace was rebuilt. Zeus had stuck to his duties and even the gods praised how well he had handled it all. Now he visits all the realms, making sure that the worlds are running smoothly, even daring to help Hades with his special forces of demons and now angels that snuff out any evil that was being done to the humans.
Zeus had a bright pink shirt slung over his body, letting everyone know he thinks a baby girl would grace their appearances. Athena wore blue and Uriel stuck out her lip in annoyance. “I don’t want to wear a shirt,” she whispered to Luci as she stood at the bottom of the stairs.
Lucifer looked over to the overflowing buffet table where he met his mate just a short time ago. He smiled, thinking about their first meeting and how silly it was to think he almost let her walk out those double doors. “I don’t want to cover my dress,” Uriel looked down at the light yellow lace-covered dress. It had pockets she often would stick her hands in, swaying her dress too and fro.
“Then don’t,” Luci kissed her temple. “We are much of rule followers, anyway.” Uriel stuck out her lip again. She was hoping to get a rile out of Luci but that didn’t seem to work. She’ll figure something out later.
Luci willed an amber liquid into his hands. Swirling it, he looked down into the dark matter. The ice cubes clinked, almost summoning Athena.
“Like a drink, Uriel?” Uriel’s head popped up from looking at her lacy dress. Her pretty porcelain body was now tanned with a hint of a sunburn on her cheeks and chest. Athena held out a strawberry liquid. It too had an umbrella just like her big party months ago. And flowers, that was fun. Uriel’s golden eyes widened. “Yes!” she squealed before Lucifer grabbed it from Athena’s hands.
“Uh no,” he took it away, putting it on a nearby servants’ tray. Uriel whined, stomping her foot.
“Why! I haven’t had one in a long time.” Her lip stuck out, which caused a firm swat to Uriel’s back side.
Owie.
“Watch it,” he warned, raising a brow. Athena watched the two, finding it utterly amusing of their dynamic. “Here, this is one without alcohol.” Athena willed another strawberry flavored one and Uriel took it gladly.
“You’re lucky I can detect lies now,” Lucifer commented, drinking from the glass. Athena only chuckled as Ares and Mariah stepped to the top of the stairs, holding a baby in a silk yellow blanket.
Two cherubs floated around their bodies, blowing horns for everyone’s attention. “This is over the top,” Hades groaned, stepping beside his son. “Fucking cherubs,” he muttered.
“Are you sure those are cherubs?” Uriel mused. “Those have horns on their heads.” It was true, the cherubs were specifically created just for the event. Hades had a terrible time assembling them. He made them the lightest shade of red he could to appease his friend but it didn’t go without some punishment. Tiny little red babies, with horns and black wings, continued to hover around.
“Those aren’t cherubs. You should have asked Zeus to help you,” Athena looked on in disgust. “Those look like demon hell babies.” Hades snickered, covering his mouth. Parisa only nudged her mate, shaking her head.
Lillith ran by both her parents, babbling and eating a turkey leg with one hand. Her cute little pink frilly dress Parisa dressed her in looked nothing like the personality she had. She had beautiful strawberry blonde hair, but a scowl on her face.
Hades’ genes were strong.
Ares looked down into the crowd, his eyes narrowing at Hades. He asked for damn cherubs and this was what he got? He scoffed, he wanted everything perfect, but now Hades being a father of three came out with this weird sick dark humor.
Ares cleared his throat, and the devil demon babies floated away and dispersed into thin air. Hades wasn’t keeping those around. That was some creepy shit, even for him.
“We would like to announce,” Ares paused for effect, giving the perfect view of the massive black t-shirt that said, “Best Dad of all the Realms.” Some laughed, but Ares continued to stare with pride at his mate, who took the baby from her arms.
“Our daughter, Agape.” The claps from the crowd came loud, startling the little girl into a fit of a cry. Ares clutched her to his chest, and she instantly soothed into his touch.
Uriel was bursting with excitement, ready to see the little baby as they descended the stairs. “Can I go see?” Uriel gasped, holding her hands over her mouth. Her child-like personality still had not left her and Lucifer hoped it never world.
He hoped their children would be just as adorable, but that won’t be for a long while. He had too many things he wanted to do with his little bunny.
“Go, but come back.” Uriel nodded frantically, rushing over to the little baby. The baby glowed so brightly from Uriel’s vision it almost hurt her eyes.
“So pretty,” she cooed, trailing a finger down the baby’s cheek. Warm light trailed Uriel’s finger as Agape’s little head turned to see the Goddess of Innocence staring at her. The baby smiled, yawned, and quickly went back to sleep, none the wiser.
“What did you do?” Mariah, looked over her baby, clutching her to her chest.
“I blessed her with grace,” Uriel hummed. “In what form it comes in, I’m not sure about with a little baby.” Uriel’s powers continued to grow. She could suck lies out of little, naughty children and along with that gave them the guilt until once they prayed for forgiveness, she would instantly grant.
When granting someone with grace, it could come in either a warm feeling of being loved and cared for, but there were few such people of the artistic nature she had blessed with grace. Their movements become more fluid, their paint strokes more emotional. Uriel still had a lot to learn, but she knew she should use her newfound skill to help little Agape in her life.
Meanwhile, Loki was working the crowd. He had a charisma since he became the Raven. The she-wolves that came from Mariah’s pack all showed up and they were enthralled with him. Deep green eyes, his hair dark, he looked nothing short of the prince of darkness as his charisma pulled hungry teenage girls at his feet.
“He’s going to get in trouble one day,” Lucifer muttered to his father. Uriel looked at both Hades and her mate, watching how they both looked at Loki with disappointment. Their jaws tight, their eyes narrowed, flowers, they looked so much alike.
“What I’ve learned about being a parent,” Hera stood by her daughter, wrapping her arm around her. The sweet smell of honeysuckle tickled Uriel’s nose. Immediately, she hugged Hera and rubbed her mother’s growing tummy. “Is that you can only guide your children so much, but it is up to them and the fates what they do with it.”
Parisa hummed in agreement, intertwining her fingers with Hades. “That is true. I just hope he remembers he has a mate, and she may not be so forgiving.”
“She’ll be strict,” Uriel chirped. “I bet his mate will deny him at first and he will have to really work for it. I mean,” everyone looked at her to finish her statement. Her head lowered and buried it in Lucifer’s chest.
“Go on,” Lucifer nudged his mate. She was so smart; she didn’t need to hide from them.
“Like… she won’t put up with his shit.” Hera stood back, staring at her child. How dare she just curse like that? Lucifer only chuckled, he didn’t like how his little bunny cursed but if it was any consolation, he loved it Hera got riled up.
Payback is a bitch.
“Uriel,” Hera finally spoke, but Uriel shrugged her shoulders.
“Got to make my own decisions about my life mom.” She winked.
