Chapter 105 Didn't He Ever Get Tired?

After a while, Catherine felt Manuel's dick, pressed against her back, starting to rise again.

She cursed Manuel in her heart, wondering how he could be so enthusiastic early in the morning. Didn't he ever get tired?

Manuel started kissing her ear and asked in a low voice, "How about a second round?"

Catherine was too tired to move and quickly changed the subject, "How about we just chat?"

"What's there to chat about?" Manuel sneered. "What? Are you going to ask about my health or talk about today's weather?"

Those topics sounded incredibly boring.

Catherine felt Manuel starting to move behind her again, so she had to think of something else.

She suddenly remembered overhearing Manuel talking to a doctor the last time he stayed over. She couldn't help but ask, "I think I heard a doctor say you were taking medication. What happened to you?"

Manuel paused and suddenly let go of Catherine.

"Nothing much, just some stress. I'm taking some anti-anxiety medication."

Catherine felt the blanket lift and fall behind her as Manuel got out of bed and started looking for his clothes.

She heard the sound of him getting dressed.

Catherine was a bit surprised. Was Manuel not in the mood anymore? Based on his past behavior, he would usually insist on doing it four or five more times before stopping.

But this situation was fine with her; she really didn't have the energy to keep up with Manuel.

Just as Catherine breathed a sigh of relief, Manuel's phone rang.

Catherine raised an eyebrow. Manuel quickly hung up the call, but Catherine saw the caller ID—it was Isabella.

"Aren't you going to answer?" Catherine asked instinctively.

"No. And it's none of your business," Manuel replied curtly.

Before Catherine could complain, another call came in. Manuel hung up again.

Seeing that Manuel hung up on two or three calls in a row, Catherine felt a bit conflicted.

Did Manuel still have feelings for Isabella? Why wasn't he answering her calls?

Catherine pursed her lips, not wanting to guess Manuel's thoughts.

She buried her head in the blanket, and Manuel didn't say anything. The room fell silent.

After a while, Manuel pulled the blanket off her face. "It's already nine in the morning. Stop lazing around."

Catherine stretched. As Manuel turned to tie his tie, Catherine lazily asked, "If you like Isabella, why don't you be with her? Ignoring her must be hard for you too."

She really couldn't understand it. If Isabella hadn't cheated, then Manuel wouldn't have any psychological burden being with her, would he?

Manuel paused and looked at her, "Since when did you start meddling in my business? I make my own decisions. Just because you're my girlfriend now doesn't mean you can control me."

"Don't bring her up again." Seeing she wanted to say something, Manuel added.

Catherine pouted. Wasn't he the one who brought it up yesterday? Now he wanted to shut her up. How boring.

Catherine got up and put on her shirt and skirt.

At that moment, her phone rang. It was Michael. He greeted her and then explained, "Catherine, there's a class reunion today. Are you coming?"

"You left early yesterday, and some classmates didn't get to catch up with you. They asked me to invite you."

By this time, Manuel was already dressed and had come back.

Hearing Catherine's conversation, he showed no reaction.

Catherine didn't know if Manuel wanted to go or not, so she asked him, "Do you want to go?" Manuel replied, "Whatever."

Seeing that Manuel didn't seem to mind, Catherine told Michael, "Manuel and I are free. When is the reunion?"

"This afternoon."

Catherine checked the time. If they left now, they could make it to the hotel on time.

They grabbed their keys and left. Manuel drove while Catherine played on her phone.

After a while, the car stopped.

Catherine was about to get out when she noticed the unfamiliar surroundings. It looked like a bank.

Why was Manuel at a bank?

Before she could ask, she remembered Isabella's call yesterday asking to borrow money.

Catherine shrugged and went back to her phone.

She scrolled through Isabella's Facebook and saw her last post from a few days ago.

Isabella was holding a designer bag, driving a luxury car, and wearing a watch worth millions.

She didn't look like she was short on money. Catherine thought Isabella was probably testing Manuel.

And Manuel's proactive transfer of money was quite telling.

After a while, Manuel returned. Catherine didn't ask anything, and Manuel didn't say anything. They drove to the hotel as if nothing had happened.

Michael greeted them at the entrance, "You made it."

Catherine nodded, "Thanks for the invite."

As they walked in, Michael's gaze lingered on Catherine, a dark look in his eyes.

The room was filled with familiar faces from yesterday's party. They warmly greeted Catherine and Manuel.

Lily sat alone in the corner, drinking in silence, with an empty space around her. After yesterday's incident, few people were willing to sit next to her and talk, making the atmosphere particularly cold.

Lily felt very awkward. She had originally wanted to continue promoting her products to the people around her, but now everyone avoided her like the plague. Not only was she unable to sell her cosmetics, but even ordinary conversations were out of reach. She could only play with her phone in the corner to cover up her embarrassment.

At this moment, seeing Catherine and Manuel walking over and attracting everyone's attention, a look of envy flashed in Lily's eyes.

When Manuel sat down, she cleared her throat, "Dr. Green, I didn't expect you to come to the reunion today."
