Chapter 16 Strange Atmosphere

"It's okay." Suzette said modestly, "But you had saved my son just now, I really have to thank you."

"No need, it's just a coincidence, I just passed by because of the company's business. I didn't expect that Lawrence was hitting it off with me and took the initiative to hug me." Roderick smiled and looked at Lawrence.

When Suzette looked at Lawrence, he was also looking at Roderick, and it looked like the two of them were very close, which was strange.

Lawrence had suffered with her since childhood, because of this, he was very insecure and rarely trusted others. But he treated Roderick differently.

While Suzette sat down with Lawrence, Roderick continued his words, "Miss Suzette, why you come back here since you have a well development in overseas, someone like you wouldn't come back at all. Why would you give up your company and return to China, it seems unreasonable."

Suzette looked at him and didn't respond after hearing his question. She had heard about the same questions in those days.

Roderick saw her reaction and thought she took offense at his question.

"I'm just asking, doesn't mean to offend you, if you don't want to answer, it's okay." Roderick explained.

Suzette shook her head, "I don't mind, but I've just heard too much, and I just feel a bit tired of it." She paused and hugged Lawrence and sat beside, "Actually the reason I'm returning to China is not as much as the rumors spread outside, I'm just doing it for my child, it's up to you whether you believe it or not."

Suzette was different compared to five years ago, and she was even more powerful than five years ago.

She took no more than five years to become the top agent in Europe and America. There were two celebrities under her command who were already becoming the international superstars.

Because of her superior ability, she had received many offers from foreign companies when she left the agency. But she didn't choose those companies and decided to return to China with determination. These had been much debate on her action. Almost no one would believe her reason which was so simple.

But at this time, Roderick said pertinently, "I believe you." Just three simple words which showed with determination.

Suzette was more confused about the man in front of her after hearing his words.

She felt the man who was in front of her was weird, but without waiting for her to ask, Lawrence took out the money from his pocket and returned it to Suzette.

When Suzette looked the amount of money she had given to Lawrence just now was remaining the same, but there were two desserts in front of Lawrence.

"Mister treated me the dessert." Lawrence said with a smile.

Suzette looked at Lawrence and took back the money. At that moment, Suzette felt that her son was in a trap. She knew well about Lawrence, and his self-control was more potent than an adult.

She had taught him before; all the outside foods were not allowed to be eaten. For this reason, he wouldn't even eat the foods which were provided by many acquaintances, even if it were something he loved to eat, he also won't touch it.

She wondered what kind of tactics Roderick had used. When Suzette looked at Roderick, he had prepared his speech, "Lawrence congenial to me, please consider it as some privilege of being a friend."

Was it a privilege? Suzette had to be suspicious of him subconsciously since she had been in the entertainment industry for a long time.

"I've been curious, what is your next plan?" Roderick asked.

Suzette was a little displeased and said, "Mr. Roderick, I'm very happy about your relationship with Lawrence. But if you have other purposes, then I will absolutely not allow it."

After her words, Suzette's expressions had changed and she took Lawrence walked away.
