Shocking News

Shocking News
It was 8 p.m. Alexandra was busy in the palace kitchen. As usual, she prepared dinner for the king. A sweet smile had never disappeared from her face since this afternoon. Many times she tried to forget the incident that afternoon in the king's private room. However, dreams were just dreams. She was not an Alzheimer's sufferer who easily forgot everything that happened in her life.

"Oh, God! How could a Lycan king like an ordinary human like me? Why do I feel like I'm playing the main character in a romance novel? If this is a dream, I hope I wake up from this dream soon. Aakkhh... I go crazy if I keep daydreaming like this." She kept pinching her arm, hoping that everything that was happening in her life now was just a dream. She couldn't imagine if an ordinary human like her had a romantic relationship with a lycan. But it was undeniable that she felt comfortable being around the king since they first met in this palace.

After finishing preparing dinner for the king, Alexandra rushed out of the kitchen carrying a tray in her hand. However, her steps suddenly stopped when she heard the king's name being mentioned by two servants who were busy chatting while cleaning the wolf statues located along the hallway. She sharpened her hearing so she could hear what they were talking about.

"I guessed from the start that Martha had a special position in the palace. And it turns out my guess was right. She will be married to the king. Her fate is perfect. If only I had good luck like her," said one of the female servants.

Hearing that, Alexandra suddenly felt like her heart was stabbed by a thousand knives. It hurt so much. For some reason she felt sad to hear that the king would marry another woman. It was like there was a feeling of reluctance in her mind. "What are you thinking, Alexandra? Don't dream too high. Your world and his world are very different. You shouldn't expect anything more and unreasonable. You had better think about how you can return to the Spanish kingdom. The world where you should be." She continued her steps and threw away all disturbing thoughts.

Alexandra entered the king's private room. She saw the king sitting in his office chair with his eyes closed. She walked very slowly so as not to disturb the king's concentration. When she was standing in front of the king, she fell silent while enjoying the beautiful view in front of her. A face that she could never get rid of from her mind. The pain came back when she remembered the words of the two servants.

A thin smile was clearly etched on the king's face, making Alexandra frown. "Don't keep looking at my face like that, Alexandra," Stevan began to speak with his eyes still closed.

"How did he know I was coming? Ah, I forgot. He is the Lycan king. It is not difficult for him to smell my scent," thought Alexandra, who was still staring at the king's face.

Slowly, Stevan opened his eyes when he did not hear any answer coming out of Alexandra's mouth. Their gazes now met. He then stood up from his chair and approached the woman, who was now looking at him with a sad look. When he was standing in front of her, he took the tray from her hand and placed it on the table. After that, he looked back at her face. "What are you thinking about?" he asked in a soft voice.

"Do I deserve to ask you questions, King?" Both of her eyes looked glassy. For some reason she wanted to cry so much. However, what was clear was that she just wanted to express her feelings.

"Of course. You have the right to ask me questions," answered Stevan, curious about what was on the woman's mind.

"Is it true that you will marry Martha?" asked Alexandra in a soft voice, as if she were holding back tears.

"What?!" Stevan shouted loudly. "How did you get to know the news?"

"This news has spread among the palace servants." Alexandra paused for a moment while taking a deep breath. Her chest suddenly felt sore. "So this news is true?" she asked again. Her eyes were getting more and more teary. Tears could no longer be held back.

"Oh, damn! Who dares to spread this news?" Stevan looked so emotional.

"Me." Suddenly the door to the king's private room opened, and Regina appeared with Martha and their personal servants. Stevan and Alexandra were surprised to see them. "I spread the news," Regina said again with emphasis on every word.

"What do you mean by doing this, Queen Mother?" asked Stevan with his cold expression.

"I want to understand my late daughter-in-law's request. I don't want Martha's position to be taken by a shameless woman," Regina replied while looking at Alexandra with a hateful gaze. So did Martha.

Stevan clenched his fists, trying to calm the emotions that were starting to emerge. "Don't bring my mother into it just to fulfill your personal desires, Queen Mother!" he said firmly.

Regina was quite shocked to hear Stevan's answer, which seemed to blame her. "King, just so you know. I'm doing this for your own good. Don't choose the wrong partner. You have to remember your current position." She tried to make the king aware of her thoughts. Her gaze was still fixed on Alexandra, who had only lowered her face earlier.

"Only a woman who has above-average intelligence and strength is suitable to be your partner. Being a queen is such a big responsibility. You have to really think about it, King." Regina didn't want to give up so easily. The future of the kingdom was very important to her.

"Enough! Don't ever talk about partners in front of me!" Stevan snapped, glaring sharply at the Queen Mother. "Only I know who deserves to be my partner. Apart from me, no one has the right to interfere." Stevan turned his body deliberately away from the Queen Mother. He did not want to be rude to his grandmother, whom he had respected so much all this time.

"It's too late, King. I have gathered the ministers. They all strongly agree about your marriage with Martha, which will be held next week," Regina said, making Stevan very surprised and looking back at her.
