Chapter 18
Chapter 18
In a two-story colonial style home, miles away from New York, stands a 5’7 woman with long dark brown hair, green eyes, and a slim body. She flips her hair over her shoulder as she takes a seat at the oak desk in her office and begins writing up a list of demands. Suddenly there is loud screaming from the room next door and the noise makes her cover her ears for what seems like the millionth time today.
“I WANT MY MOMMY! I WANT MY MOMMY!”
I don’t know how much more I can take of this child screaming. She’ll get both of her mommies back if they do as I say or else they can all meet up in hell. Honestly I don’t want to have to kill this little girl, but then again maybe I don’t have to even if they don’t obey my instructions. I’ll just leave her somewhere for the police to find or maybe have her dropped off to a fire station, hospital, or church. The children had nothing to do with this whole situation, but they were useful. Jay and her little wife made things much easier by having children because it means that I didn’t have to spend time looking for a weakness.
“I WANT MY MOOOOOOOOOOOMY!”
Okay I have had enough. She has been screaming and crying uncontrollably since she got here and that is making it hard for me to think.
“Lewis!” I yell for one of my guards.
“Yes miss?”
I instruct him to take the little brat downstairs to one of the bedrooms and lock the door. He picks her up and that only makes her scream even louder, which is something I didn’t think possible, and takes her out of the room kicking and screaming. Once she’s gone the room is so quiet and I am able to think better. Now I must figure out how to make my next move. Jay and her new wife must be going crazy wondering where their precious daughter is by now. That’s what she gets for doing me wrong. I’m going to make her and her entire little family suffer. I can’t get distracted right now. I must stay focused on what I’m planning for them next. Thanks to that bumbling idiot, Terrence, I now have to go about my plans a different way. If I use a courier service there is always the chance of it being traced back and I don’t want there to be a paper trail. Hmm…how can I get them my list of demands without them being able to trace it back directly to me? I ponder about this some more as I take a seat in my comfortable sitting chair. The wheels in my head are turning as I try to figure out a solution to this problem.
“I’ve got it!” I scream with a big grin on my face. Once I’ve made a few phone calls and instructed a few people on how to carry out my plan, I once again sit in my comfortable chair and cross my long legs.
“They won’t even know what hit ‘em.”
After finalizing a few other things, I get ready to go out for some lunch. I think that I deserve to treat myself today, especially since I’ll be a very rich woman soon.
“Jay thinks that this is about getting her company when in fact this is about so much more than just her company. I gave her my heart and she just decided that it wasn’t enough for her. Who the hell does she think she is? I was the best thing to ever happen to her, and she leaves me for that chunky bitch she now calls her wife. What can she give her that I couldn’t? Sure, we had our problems, but what couple doesn’t. Okay, so she wanted children and I didn’t, was that really a reason to leave? We could have compromised or something I’m sure. I mean we were in love, so we should have been able to come up with something that would work for both of us.” I start to apply my lipstick as I slip into my dark blue Louis Vuitton pumps. Checking myself in the mirror, I smile at my reflection. My body is toned and supple like it should be and there isn’t a line or wrinkle on my face.
“Maybe she’ll even come back to me once she sees how I look.” Hey a girl can dream can’t she? There is something different about the house today, but I can’t put my finger on what it could be at the moment. As I descend the stairs, I realize what is so different.
“That brat isn’t screaming and crying today. Hmm…I wonder if she is okay. I’ll have Lewis check on her before I head out. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to my little bargaining chip before my plan has been carried out.” For some reason unknown to myself, I decide to check in on the little girl myself. Carefully I open the door to her room and peek my head into the room. She is asleep on the bed, so I walk over to her quietly. Why couldn’t she be like this when she was awake? Right now, as I watch her sleep, she looks like a little angel and nothing like the brat that was brought here yesterday. As I take a closer look, I can see that tears have stained her little face and her eyes are all puffy from all the crying.
“Well you’ll get to go home as soon as your parents agree to my terms and hand everything over to me. I don’t plan on hurting you and I’m so sorry for using you like this, but it is the only way I can get what I want from Jay.” I say this quietly to myself and then turn and walk back out the door. For a split second I start to wonder if this is all worth it, and then I start having flash backs to how Jay just left me and ripped out my heart. All the pain and hurt comes flooding back and that temporary bad feeling goes right out the door.
“Lewis, I want you to keep an eye on the brat until I get back. Make sure she eats and she can come out of her room to watch television, but you are to be with her at all times. Do you understand?” He nods his understanding of my instructions and then I head out of the house and to my car. Once inside my black Ford Escape, I turn on the ignition and start pulling out of the drive-way and head to the mall. There is nothing like a little retail therapy to get the day started.
