Chapter 6 – King and Queen

Mr. Patrick talking over the mic, “Hello, Ladies and gentlemen? I hope you kids are having fun. Today, Mrs. Roseland and I are going to announce the Home Coming Queen and King. The Home Coming Queen is” everybody crossing their fingers and hope that they will become the queen, but Sara standing next to Aaron and didn't expect to be a homecoming queen. “Sara Khan.”

Sara was in shock because she didn't expect that she is going to be the queen and she was surprised. She looked at Aaron and he was smiling and was happy for her. She walks up to the stage and Mr. Patrick put the tiara on her hair. She looks like a real queen and now she waits for the king to be picked because she has to dance with the king. So, she was still on the stage and Mrs. Roseland announces the Home Coming Queen.

Mrs. Roseland announced to the king, “The Home Coming King is Aaron Lawson.” Aaron comes to the stage to get his crown and he looks very handsome in his crown. He goes to stand next to Sara and both of them looked very good together. Sara wishes that he stays with her all the time in every place she goes, but that couldn't be true because he was her best friend's boyfriend.

Mr. Patrick stated, “Now, The King and The Queen will have their first dance.”

Aaron asks for Sara's hand and without hesitation, Sara gives him her hand. They go to the dance floor and start dancing.

Sara told him, “I really don't know how to dance, and you've brought me to the dance floor.”

“Just follow me and you'll be okay,” told her.

Sara does whatever he does, and she dance with him. After a few minutes later, when they were quiet, and Sara asks him about what happened and why Neha was telling her not to say that he was her boyfriend to Johnathan.

“Can you now tell me what's going on because Mr. Patrick interrupted us while...?” Aaron interrupts her too. “Why do you ask so many questions?”

Sara annoyed, “just tell me what's going on?” Suddenly Aaron put his right hand on her back. Sara doesn't say anything and tries to move with him as he does.

She looks him in the eyes and moves like him, “Yeah like that, good. You're doing great.”

Sara slapped him lightly on his shoulder, “stop it. Just tell me what's going on.”

“Why can't you just enjoy for a minute instead of asking me questions?”

“Alright.” She was enjoying dancing with him; she was feeling his body next to hers. She wanted to be with him all the time and she also didn't want to ask him any more questions when suddenly she sees Neha and John dancing in front of her. She realizes that the guy who she was dancing to was her best friends' boyfriend and she couldn't cheat her best friend. “No, this is not right.” She runs outside the hall and Aaron runs after her. When Neha and John see them running outside, they also run after them.

Aaron calling after her, “wait, wait. Sara, please wait.” Sara didn't stop, she was running as fast she could, when suddenly she hears Aaron say.

“I love you; I love you, Sara” Very loudly. “Please, stop and listen to me.” She stops there still not looking back. Aaron comes close to her and stands in front of her.

Sara was looking down on the floor and Aaron was standing in front of her. He didn't know how to start and so, he takes Sara's face in his hands like a cup. Sara was still looking down on the floor. Her heart was beating so fast that she couldn't think of anything. She was so scared when suddenly Aaron starts to kiss her. First, he touches her lips and again the second time and then kisses her fully like he was craving for her. He takes his left hand down to her waist and Sara put her hand around his neck and started to kiss him back. Aaron was telling her “I love you” while kissing her at the same time. Now his both hands were on her waist and he was pulling her close to him and Sara was brushing her hands in his hair. Both of them were kissing each other madly when Neha and John come behind them. Sara could see them and pushes Aaron away from herself and he didn't want to get pushed when he is so madly in love with her that he couldn't even stay away for even one second. Sara turns to Neha.

“I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to do anything like...” Neha interrupts Sara. “It's okay. Aaron and I are not going out. He told me that he is in love with YOU and you wouldn't give him a chance to talk to you. So, we thought maybe you will talk to him if we tell you that I'm his girlfriend.”

John putting his hands up in the air, “Great.” He goes back inside.

Sara said the same thing, “Yeah, great. You know what Neha, I believed you so much and you did this to me. I can't believe it. My best friend cheated me.” She starts to walk back as she was talking to Neha and Aaron could see that she was going to run. When she tries, Aaron holds her from the arm.

Aaron said, “why are you always trying to run away from me? I love you, Sara. I'm really in love with you.” Both of them looking into each other’s eyes. “I know you don't believe in love and all, but one thing I know for sure is that you also love me, and you don't want to accept it.”

Sara imitating, “Love you? You've cheated with me and I love a cheater, I can only hate you nothing else. Get it!”

Aaron smiled, “Really?”

Sara arrogantly, “Yes.”

Aaron asked, “Then why did you kiss me back when I was kissing you???” Sara didn't want to answer him and turn away from him to look at Neha.

Sara told her, “I want to go home, if you don't mind Neha can I go home with John and you can ride with your liar “boyfriend”?” Before Neha could answer Sara, Aaron interrupted.

Aaron asked again, “why aren't you answering me??? Tell me, if you don't love me, then why did you kiss me back???”

Sara answered, “I just want to talk to you anymore, plus I don't even know you.”

Aaron smiling again, “Yeah, that's right. You don't know me, and you still believed me and kissed me.”

Sara pointed her finger on his chest, “Look Mr. I wasn't kissing you; it was you. Okay. I don't want to talk about it anymore.” Sara starts walking inside the Prom Hall.

Aaron calls out, “Sara,” She hears her name from his mouth for the first time and feels so good inside her heart. “Please try and understand. I'm really in love with you and I can't even stay away from you for even one second. I can't live without you and I can't even imagine my life without you now.” She was walking and Aaron was walking behind her and Neha as well.

Sara said, “you were living your life without me before, so you can also live now.”

They were inside and Sara was looking for John, who sits at his table. Sara goes there and Neha and Aaron as well.

Sara asked John, “John, if you don't mind, can you give me a ride home? I didn't bring my car as you know I came with some liar.” John was always ready to do anything Sara asked.

John stood up, “sure.”

Aaron talking to Sara, “please, okay. If that's what you want that's okay with me but let me drop you home because then your parents will ask you lots of questions. Please, let me do that.” Sara wasn't even looking at Aaron and not talking to him anymore.

Sara asking again, “John, will you please drop me home? I'm not feeling good. Please, John. I'm begging you” folds her hands in front of him to take her home.

John replied, “Come, Let's go. Neha, Are you coming with us or …?”

“Yeah, I'll go with you guys. Just wait.” Neha turns to Aaron and Sara had her back on both of them and was standing in front of John. “I'm really sorry, Aaron. I tried my best, but I failed. I'm really so sorry for whatever happened.”

“Why are you sorry? You shouldn't be because you did what a best friend does.” Looking at Sara. “Actually, your friend should be sorry because you did a really big favor to your friend and she doesn't even appreciate you for whatever you did. And you know what, you shouldn't be friends with anybody, who doesn't know how to appreciate their friends. Also, I would like to say this one more thing that I made a really big mistake coming to this small town and I told my father that I didn't want to go. And look where I end up that I can't even go back.” This time he made Sara turn back to him.

Sara angrily, “why don't you just say that you made a mistake for falling in love with me? Why are you saying that you made a mistake coming to the town?” Again, both of them were close to each other that their faces were almost touching each other.

Aaron told her, “you know what? You are right, I really did make a mistake for falling in love with you because you're a stubborn girl, who doesn't even believe in her own self.”

They were arguing and the music was so loud that they could barely hear each other. So, nobody knew that they were fighting.

Sara told him, “you don't even know me. So, stop it. I just don't want to talk to you.” Aaron tries to put his right hand on her face, but Sara, “Don't you dare touch me.”

Aaron waved his hand for her to go away, “just go away, before I go crazy.” This made Sara madder.

“You know what” she could barely speak now and was speaking one word each time. “You're right, I should go away” looking in each other eyes, “from here and from your …” she wanted to say his heart but couldn't and walks away from him. Aaron was still looking after her as she was walking and when she was gone, he was heartbroken.

Neha asked her, “why did you do that to him? He loves you a lot. He is madly in love with you and you don't believe him,” Sara was quiet.

John answered for her, “Oh please, he was a jerk. He was just playing with Sara's feelings and you helped him play with her. Let me tell you something, he was here for a week and he is leaving tomorrow. So, he thought why not enjoy himself while being here. These rich people are like this, they try to play with our feelings, and you can't tell if they're true or fake.”

Neha defended him. “No, he is totally different from everybody else.”

John told her, “stop taking his side, he is nothing of yours. Okay, Neha.”

Sara annoyed, “both of you please just stop it. I don't want to hear anything about him anymore. Please, can we go home now?”

John drives and takes Neha and Sara home. They dropped Sara home first and she was quiet in the car too. Sara's mother was waiting for her when she went inside.

Ayesha asked, “how was the prom? Tell me every about it.”

Sara told her, “mom, I'm so tired. Can I go to sleep? I will tell you everything in the morning. Okay, mom.”

“Do you want something to eat?” Sara was walking upstairs to her room.

Sara on her way upstairs, “no, I'm not hungry.”

Sara was in her room and she was a little happy and a little sad. She was thinking about the moment when Aaron kissed her. She was thinking of everything where he touched her and how his lips were cold, melting, soft, sweet, and after few seconds it was warm and very protective because the way he kissed her it was like he didn't want to let go of her lips and wanted to kiss her all night long. She was thinking that he tasted like an ice cream, which she enjoyed so much. Then she was thinking about where he touched her while kissing her at the same time. She closed her eyes to feel the same feelings when he touched her. His hands were on her face and then went to her back and then a little bit down to her waist. He was touching all over her back. Their lips were like elastic because when Sara pushed him back, it was like her lips wanted to go back to kiss his lips again. When you stretch an elastic and let go, it collides back together. She felt so good about that and when she thought about whatever she did to him. She was so rude to him that she didn't want to tell him the truth because she didn't want anybody to say anything bad to her parents because of her. She started laughing all of sudden and talks to herself.

Sara talked to herself. “Oh my god, I'm really a drama queen. I can say anything, and everybody will believe me.” She laughs so much and cries at the same time because she couldn't be with the guy she was in love with. So, she confesses to her room out loud that she loves Aaron. “I love you, Aaron. I'm in love with Aaron. I can't stop thinking about him. I want to be with him, but I can't.” Starts to cry again and cries all night and goes to sleep.

Sara's mother comes in to check on her and see that she was asleep and didn't even change her clothes. Sara was the same as her mother because both of them used to talk to themselves.

Ayesha talking to herself, “I don't understand the children nowadays. I think she must be very tired that she went to sleep so fast because it takes her very long to go to sleep.”

Sara's mother goes downstairs and tells her husband that Sara's sleep. Her father was watching News on TV.

Emraan said, “I think she had lots of fun and she got tired that's why she went to sleep because she didn't even stay up to say hi to me as always.”

Ayesha replied, “yeah, I think so. I'm happy that she enjoyed herself and I think we should go to sleep too.” Turns off the TV. “Come on, let's go to sleep.”

Ayesha turns off all the lights in the house and goes to sleep.
