Chapter 96
"What? I'm cool with anything," Zoey said, snapping out of her thoughts.
Tamsin was so eager to play, and Zoey couldn't let her down, especially not in Tamsin's own home.
"Zoey," Tamsin said, hugging Zoey's neck and tearing up. "You spoil me so much. How am I ever going to get married? No one will understand and pamper me like you do."
Zoey patted her shoulder gently.
Behind Tamsin, Daniel rolled his eyes and pointed at himself repeatedly. "Am I invisible or something? I understand and pamper you too!"
But Tamsin's attention was entirely on Zoey, and she didn't hear a word Daniel said.
"Ms. King wants to play? Awesome! Let me show you how it's done," Yvonne said, picking up a scarf. "Marcus, help me blindfold myself."
Marcus sighed inwardly but took the scarf and tied it around her eyes.
Yvonne turned to face Marcus, but instead of demonstrating with him, she subtly shifted towards Alexander and reached out, pretending to feel her way forward.
"Is this... Tamsin?" she guessed deliberately wrong, her hand moving towards Alexander's face.
Alexander stepped back quietly, leaving Yvonne's hand hanging awkwardly in the air.
She thought Alexander was playing along and was about to continue when someone grabbed her wrist.
"Wrong," Zoey said, expressionless as she pulled the scarf off Yvonne's eyes. "Did you suggest this game just to touch Alexander?"
Yvonne's cheeks flushed. "No, I was just nervous and turned the wrong way."
"Sure," Zoey drawled.
Yvonne, feeling indignant, retorted, "Did you understand my demonstration? Or do you need Alexander to teach you personally?"
"Did I say I needed Alexander to teach me? I saw Ms. Graham's demonstration clearly. Let's start."
Zoey rarely argued with people, but Yvonne's aggressive behavior, similar to Cleo's, was something she couldn't tolerate.
The more Yvonne cared about Alexander, the more Zoey wanted to divert his attention to herself.
"Fine," Yvonne said, unable to stand Zoey's dismissive attitude. "Being blindfolded doesn't mean you can act recklessly. Let's all stay rational and not touch inappropriately."
"Yvonne, are you talking to yourself or to us? We won't touch inappropriately," Tamsin said, exposing Yvonne's intentions.
Tamsin was increasingly annoyed with Yvonne, who always targeted Zoey. What was her problem?
Zoey was her number one now, and anyone who dared to bully her was her enemy.
"So how do we decide the order?" Yvonne ignored Tamsin, focused on Alexander.
"Rock-paper-scissors," Tamsin said, raising her fist.
Everyone agreed and played rock-paper-scissors.
Tamsin won and went first.
She eagerly let Zoey blindfold her and then happily spun around, touching and guessing correctly most of the time.
When she reached Daniel, he held her hands against his chest, refusing to let go, teasing her.
Tamsin stomped on his foot with her high heel, making him behave.
"Daniel, if you try to mess with me again, I'll stomp you to death," Tamsin said, pulling off the blindfold and threatening him.
Daniel, enduring the pain, took the scarf from her. "Alright, alright, stomp me all you want."
He blindfolded himself and guessed everyone within five minutes, avoiding touching Zoey, just sniffing near her to guess correctly.
Tamsin was a bit disappointed but also pleased that he only touched the guys and her among the girls.
When it was Zoey's turn, she calmly let Tamsin blindfold her, the black satin making her look stunning.
"Let's start," Zoey's voice was clear under the scarf.
Marcus stepped up first.
"Mr. Graham," Zoey said immediately.
Daniel coughed deliberately as he approached, and Zoey named him, too.
Tamsin jumped over eagerly, and Zoey guessed her without even touching.
"Zoey, how did you do that?" Tamsin exclaimed.
Yvonne had sprayed everyone with orange perfume to make it harder, but Zoey guessed without touching, as if she just knew who was in front of her.
Zoey smiled. "Let's continue."
Alexander stood three steps away, silent, barely breathing.
Zoey smiled. "Alexander, I found you."
"Yes, you did," Alexander replied, smiling too.
Yvonne, however, smiled because if Zoey won, she wouldn't face the punishment, meaning she could lose and dance closely with Alexander.
Even if Alexander didn't want to play along, the game's rules would force him.
"Ms. King, guessing without touching, do you have a dog's nose?" Yvonne joked.
Zoey slowly removed the scarf, her eyes cold. "Who was barking just now?"
Everyone laughed, and Yvonne's face turned sour.
Marcus, Glenn, and Ophelia each took a turn, being gentlemanly, barely touching anyone, and guessing correctly.
Finally, it was Alexander's turn.
Yvonne was excited, standing tall, wanting Alexander to touch her at her best.
But Alexander suddenly said, "I'll only guess one person."
He picked up the scarf and, to everyone's surprise, gently blindfolded himself.
His long fingers accurately traced Zoey's face.
"Zoey," he said, his voice deep and certain.
Zoey's breath hitched.
Alexander's warm, dry fingers traced her brow, nose, and finally stopped at her lips, with unmistakable possessiveness.
Yvonne's face turned ugly.
Her carefully planned game had become Alexander's stage to show his affection for Zoey.
"That's not fair!" Yvonne blurted. "The game rules..."
"I made the rules," Alexander said, removing the scarf and looking sharply at Yvonne. "Any objections? Keep them to yourself."
Marcus quickly intervened. "Alright, it's getting late. Let's end the game here."
"But I haven't played yet," Yvonne protested, biting her lip.
She picked up the scarf and blindfolded herself, reaching out, but no one wanted to be touched by her.
She quickly gave up.
"I lost, I'll take the punishment," she said, looking pitiful but feeling triumphant, her gaze on Alexander burning.
Even if Alexander hated her, she wanted a memorable moment.
"Zoey," Tamsin whispered, holding Zoey's hand. "Yvonne looks like she wants to devour Alexander."
"Yeah, didn't you notice how revealing her outfit is? She probably planned to dance closely with Alexander all along."
Zoey didn't realize her voice was thick with jealousy.
