Chapter 42
Micah POV
“Will you grow up man?” I asked my brother as I hit him with the back of my hand.
“I am only thirteen, so no, not yet.” Mike replied annoying the hell out of me. What did I do to deserve this? Right from the moment he was born he has done nothing except annoy me.
“Mike, stop. Alyssa call put him in a good mood let's hope that the good mood last for a little while. Don't make it evaporate so quickly. “Celine said as Mike and dad chuckled at her statement.
“What is this? Gang up and tease elder brother day? “I asked not amused.
“No, that was yesterday.” Mike replied.
“That is why we annoyed the hell out of you. Celine added.
“You mean like how you are doing right now and how you also did last two days.” I pointed out.
“You are right. Annoying elder brother is such a long process when you are the elder brother and we are your younger siblings, it is so much work to force all the pranks into one day. “Mike says.
“So we spread it out to accommodate the entire year.” Celine said with smile like it was the best decision ever.
“When I go to school what will happen then.” I asked.
“No need for you to worry, we will just keep it all until you get back and then we would all have a fun holiday.” Mike grins at me.
Celine hits Mike hand as she corrected him. “We would all have a fun holiday except Micah of course.”
“You are right. Micah won't know fun even if it comes in the shape of a girl and strip naked and belly dance on top of him. “Mike added as dad choke. That is such a good idea, choke them. Now if only I can get close enough to the two of them so that I can do it as the same time.
“Belly dance. " my father asks after his fit of coughing.
“Well yes.” Mike replied with a shrug like he doesn't understand why dad is acting all weird by the thoughts of naked female belly dancers. I am not even comfortable with the subject. I have a girlfriend and the thought of belly dancers alone have me feeling like I just cheated in Alyssa.
“You are thirteen, how... Michael. "My father growled with his cheeks turning red. I don't know if it is from embarrassment or from anger.
Mike realized where dad mind was going so he quickly put a stop to it. “No, dad. I am just thirteen and I like boys, don't forget that fact. It is gross. How can you think that....? "
“good.” dad clears his throat while I glared at him, when he finally noticed, he turned his attention to me “what" he asked with confused expression on his face.
“When they were teasing me, you didn't say anything but a single statement which might prove that Mike has been corrupted and you want to bring the roof down all over us.”
My father looked up at the open sky since we were outside. “What roof.”
“Figure of speech.” I frowned at my father. “Why didn't you say anything dad.”
"Because you are Micah Vegas. Genius extraordinaire. You argue with people at the top of their fields, I am sure you can out talk two teenagers. “My father said flippantly.
“I never knew you had such faith in me dad. I am touched. “I said sarcastically.
My dad being the thickest headed person I have ever had the chance of knowing about, totally missed the sarcasm. “Don’t let it get to your head son. “My siblings snickers at that.
“Geez thanks dad.” I rolled my eyes. Before I could add more to that statement for my father to know that I was using sarcasm, I felt a sharp pain in my chest area. "Ah.” I exclaimed.
“what. " they all asks surrounding keep. Did I mention that after four months that I am still treated like an egg? Anytime my siblings forget what I went through, which I am glad that they did, my mother always remind them that they should remember to thank God for having me with them because they almost lost me once.
“Nothing, just a sharp pain in my chest.” I replied.
“Should we go to the hospital?” Mike asks with worry evident in his tone.
“Aww, Mike you do care.” I said in a girlish tone.
“Buzz off, jerk.” Mike mumbled going back to his original position.
“Are you okay, really Micah?” Celine asks.
“Yes. It felt more like a sharp pain of warning, like something bad has happened. “I said slowly.
“Well, it could be nothing. “My father said as he patted my back. “Settle down let's finish our picnic.”
“I have a bad feeling that something had happened dad.” I replied him after sitting down for a while. I couldn't shake it off. I feel like something has happened to someone dear to me. I just spoke to Alyssa and we saw mom as we left the house. What is going on?
“Last time we checked, you weren't psychic.” Mike said with a pointed look at me.
“And you can't use the excuse of coma. That was four months ago for about three days only. And it was even a medically induced one. “Celine told me.
“I am not saying I am psychic but something is happening.”
“Remove you mind from it. The feeling will fade "my father advised and I nodded my reply to him but still the bad feeling refused to leave my head.
I tried calling Alyssa but she didn't answer, under normal circumstances, I will send her a text and let the matter die but no, I called her mother instead and what she told me created buzz in my head as I black out of a while when I came to, I saw tears in my sister face as she hurriedly park our things into the car and Mike was on a call while dad was with me. The next few minutes passed with a haze on me. Alyssa was involved in car accident. She is being rushed to the emergency unit in central hospital, they are not sure that she will make it.
