15. It Shouldn't Be Like This
Let's say Florence was lucky enough, because Ruth—her third client, did not cancel the agreed meeting. Even though she already felt very hopeless, she thought there would be no more chance to expect her work, but when Ruth suddenly contacted her and said she could meet earlier than the promised time because she had free time, Florence felt frozen for a moment, quite unexpected, and as if this was a mistake, even though in fact it was all real.

With a feeling of happiness that exploded in flowers, Florence agreed to meet Ruth as soon as possible. She then decided to leave her sister's house without many more words. She only left a brief explanation to Jess that she would meet her client right away. And she felt rushed, because she was too excited, even though she was actually not pressed for time.

And according to the desired plan, everything went smoothly. The discussion with Ruth went well and there were no obstacles. In the end, they parted when 4 p.m. flight was almost aired in thirty-five minutes.

"Bye, I'm waiting for good news from you."

They waved to each other, until her phone rang and she suddenly panicked when David's name appeared on her screen.

"Oh, shit!" Florence had completely forgotten to tell him where she should meet him. Jess also didn't have time to give her an idea because when they were discussing it, Ruth suddenly called.

Florence knew immediately that David would contact her. What would definitely be discussed was where they would meet, honestly she didn't know where the right place to meet him was. She was confused, she hadn't thought about it carefully. And this was wrong and mistaken.

Florence was still in the park, where she met Ruth. And she felt like she had no other choice, so she suddenly thought what if she met him here?

Well, this wasn't a bad place. Besides, there was no other choice, time was so tight. The truth is that time moves fast, and that can't be denied.

When Florence finally answered the call from David, the first thing she got was a curt question from him.

"Why did you take so long to answer my call?"

Florence had no answer to that question. Apologizing felt reluctant to do, too much of a shame to say because she felt David's mistakes towards her were much greater. She didn't want to do it, for God's sake.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"Yeah, I'm here." Florence gave a short and curt answer. Honestly, talking and meeting him felt lazy to do.

If she didn't have such urgent business, she would definitely be reluctant to meet him. This was only because her job was at stake, so she had no choice but to meet him. And technically, he was setting her up. He was so cunning that she was so sure he would drag her into a situation that would not benefit her at all.

"So, have you found a place where we should meet?"

"Yeah, I've found it." Florence nodded, not caring even though David wouldn't be able to see her. She looked around, the park was quite enough, there were only a few people including herself, even though usually a public place would be crowded at hours like this. Yep, surprisingly and unexpectedly this was actually a good place to meet him, especially since they were going to discuss something very serious, which she was one hundred percent sure would lead to a heated argument, at least she would be furious.

Just imagine if they met in a restaurant or a crowded place, it would attract a lot of people's attention, and it would also embarrass them. Florence still had great self-respect and shame, she wouldn't do that.

"Where is it?"

"In the park. This is a good place."

"Can you tell me more specifically? Which park do you mean?"

"I'll send you the exact location in a moment, check my message."

"Alright."

Without further ado, Florence immediately hung up the phone call. It should be remembered that she would not be able to reconcile with him if all these problems were not resolved, she could even do more reckless things if there was no clarity and definite bright spot. She felt wronged. All she needed was responsibility from him. That was all. She wasn't asking for too much, was she?

After sending the location of the park where they met, or you could say where their war took place, Florence sat quietly. She had a moment to calm herself down and prepare what she needed to say to David.

David should be on his way now. Florence needed to be patient for a while. She could do it. It just so happened that this was the right time to take a short break.

And finally, not long after, Florence saw a car that had stopped in the park parking lot, which was clearly visible from where she was sitting on one of the chairs at the moment, it was only a few meters away and it was quite obvious. Florence was very sure that the car belonged to David.

She just thought that when the owner of the car got out. And yep, her guess was not wrong at all. Strangely, she suddenly froze tensely when she saw him walking into the park and staring at his surroundings.

Oh, what a shame, Florence had been holding her breath all this time, and her gaze didn't even look away from him. She only realized the reality when her cellphone vibrated. That surprised her.

A message came from him as soon as she opened it. Then, when she looked up, she saw from a distance that he was busy with his cellphone.

David:
I've arrived, where are you?

Florence replied in a split second.

Florence:
I see you, try to look up and look around you. I'm sitting on a bench, all alone.

When Florence's gaze returned to David, he seemed to be following her instructions. And at one point, they finally looked at each other, their eyes met. She knew, he was looking at her.

David:
Okay, I see you now.

He sent another message before finally taking a sure and steady step, his feet moving quickly and confidently. And somehow, it was quite intimidating to her.

Florence suddenly wasn't ready enough and didn't have the courage to face David.

Oh, this is wrong. It shouldn't be like this.
