Chapter 279 I Raised Peppa
After reading the documents in the notebook, what shocked Lily wasn't the content itself, but how long this plan had been in the works.
He'd been planning this for so long, yet she had no idea. As partners who'd worked together for years, Lily felt a bit hurt.
Her tone was firm yet absolutely sincere as she asked, "What do you need me to do?"
Leopold closed the notebook. "Nothing for now."
Lily paused, her lips moving slightly before she finally asked, "Such an important plan, and I'm not part of it—is it because I'm not capable enough?"
Putting himself in her shoes, Leopold could understand how Lily felt. He said earnestly, "Since you've read the content, you should understand one thing—this is like walking a tightrope. One wrong step and it's over. If I send my most trusted person to the most dangerous frontline from the start, what do you think would happen?"
The result would likely be losing everything!
It suddenly clicked for Lily. She nodded. "I get it now."
Leopold said, "You've had a long day. Go home and get some rest."
Lily picked up her tray to leave. At the door, she suddenly turned around. "Leopold."
She rarely called him by his first name. Leopold looked up and heard Lily say seriously, "I'll always be on your side."
Leopold's lips twitched slightly. "Don't make it sound so dramatic. It's not that serious."
Lily lifted her chin with a huff and walked out.
Leopold smiled helplessly, tidied up his desk, and went back to his room to rest.
Just as he was about to take a shower, a message from Caroline came through.
Leopold had changed her contact name a few days ago to—My Little Peppa Pig.
My Little Peppa Pig: [What are you doing?]
North: [About to take a shower.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Can I watch?]
North: [The following content requires payment.]
North: [Package One, $10, includes taking off one piece of outerwear.]
North: [Package Two, $30, full body photo (can change angles based on your instructions).]
North: [Package Three, $100, live bathroom broadcast, original audio, immersive experience.]
North: [Please enter package number and pay.]
Caroline's smiling face reflected on her phone screen. She thought to herself, 'This guy sure has a lot of tricks.'
Caroline typed: [One.]
Leopold saw the ten-dollar transfer come through and accepted it without hesitation. He propped his phone on the bathroom counter and started recording.
Caroline soon received a video. When she opened it, it really was Leopold taking off his clothes, but he only removed his suit jacket.
This man really knew how to play with words!
My Little Peppa Pig: [You didn't say ten dollars only gets one piece off.]
Leopold leaned against the counter, his eyes and eyebrows full of amusement.
North: [The final interpretation of this promotion belongs to Leopold.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Fine, you're a real marketing genius.]
A hundred-dollar transfer popped up on the screen.
My Little Peppa Pig: [Keep going~]
In the second video Caroline received, he removed his cufflinks, necklace, tie, work badge, business card holder, watch, belt one by one, even pulled out a pack of tissues from his pocket, then took off his shirt and dress shoes.
Caroline knew it wouldn't be that simple.
My Little Peppa Pig: [I'm! Getting! Mad!]
Leopold laughed.
North: [Friendly reminder, Package Three is a live broadcast.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Don't trick me.]
North: [I don't trick kids.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Liars are puppies.]
North: [So childish.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [See, you were planning to trick me after all?]
North: [Of course not. Where's the basic trust between us?]
My Little Peppa Pig: [It collapsed the moment you took my hundred and ten dollars.]
North: [Not worth it? Who else can spend a hundred and ten dollars to watch me strip?]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Correction—only stripped down to the shirt. Shirtless men are all over the beach in summer. I totally got ripped off.]
North: [You can keep paying for Package Three, I'll throw in some special content.]
Caroline sent a screenshot of her phone screen, circling an app icon called "Fraud Alert."
Leopold laughed, his shoulders shaking gently, the relaxed muscles of his back reflected in the mirror behind him, well-proportioned and powerful.
Caroline saw it was getting late and reminded him: [Get some rest, Good night.]
Leopold glanced at the time and stopped teasing her. Caroline's workload was pretty heavy right now too.
North: [The recording should wrap up in two or three more days.]
My Little Peppa Pig: [Okay.]
Okay?
Just an "okay"? Not even a surprised emoji?
Before bed, Caroline received a video from Leopold. When she opened it, it was actually a boyfriend-POV goodnight video.
In the video, Leopold leaned close to the camera, pressed a kiss to the screen , and said in a husky voice, "Good night, baby."
Caroline watched the video and laughed. "Look who's being childish now!"
Over the next three days, the show recording went smoothly, but just as things seemed to be wrapping up perfectly, trouble struck on the last day.
Eve, who had been taken away by the police before, showed up at the hotel again. Leopold had just finished handling a guest's issue in the lobby when he turned around and saw Eve's familiar face. His eyes narrowed slightly. He had to admire this girl's nerve—she actually dared to come back.
The two met in the center of the lobby. Eve's friends were behind her. With a fearless expression, she showed Leopold the room key in her hand and said, "Mr. Wipere, didn't expect this, did you? I'm back."
He had considered the possibility that she might return.
But now Eve was holding a Celestial Waters Hotel room key, which meant she was currently a hotel guest. And he couldn't kick her out if she didn't do anything out of line. Those were the rules.
Leopold maintained professional courtesy. "Ms. Lorne, if you need anything, feel free to call the front desk anytime. Excuse me."
Eve's eyes showed calculation. She smiled and said, "Who should I talk to if I want to make a complaint?"
Leopold answered, "The complaint hotline is on the bulletin board on the wall."
Eve turned to look. "You're the manager, arent you? Don't you handle complaints?"
Leopold had just been dealing with a guest's complaint. She definitely saw that.
But given Eve's current attitude, she was clearly here to cause trouble. He'd better avoid her if possible.
"That was a male guest just now, so it was more convenient for me to handle it. For your complaint, you can talk to Ms. Martin."
Eve said, "What if I want to talk to you?"
Leopold kept his professional smile. "I prefer to have female staff assist our female guests. I'll get Ms. Martin for you right away."
Before Eve could refuse, Leopold had already picked up his walkie-talkie. "Ms. Martin, please come to the lobby to handle a guest complaint."
Lily's voice came through the walkie-talkie, "Got it, Mr. Wipere."
Leopold gestured for them to sit in the waiting area. "Please wait a moment. Ms. Martin will be right here."
He turned to leave, but Eve blocked his way. "I said I don't need her. I want you."
Leopold looked down. Though his face still wore a smile, it didn't reach his eyes at all. "What do you want from me?"
Eve said, "Because of you, I was taken away by the police for the first time in my life. What are you going to do about it?"
Leopold frowned. "Because of me? Wasn't it because of what you did?"
Eve got irritated just thinking about how her friends had taken photos when she was taken away by the police.
"Stop playing innocent. This is your fault," Eve said angrily.
