“We have been way over this, Linda. I don't know why you still insist on bothering yourself even after seeing for yourself that what you are asking for is impossible, I can't switch you to replace Diana, no, It's not even in my hands to do that.”

James said, losing his tie as he walked into his office with Editor Linda following behind, he just came out of a tedious conference that gave him a headache and what he didn't need was anyone adding to it.

But Linda clearly was asking him for the impossible, seriously how could she think that he would go back to Cheng and request that Diana be replaced with her, when she saw with her two eyes that Xavier had made his choice.

“She isn't going to secure that deal for us, James. Can't you see that this is like sending a kid, who doesn't know how to swim to a pool?” Editor Linda pressured further for the impossible.

He sighed, looking at her with annoyance. “How sure are you that she isn't going to succeed? Just because you look down on her doesn't mean that she's stupid, Xavier knows the reason why he picked her.”

“Because they are sleeping together!” Editor Linda snapped, the words fell out of her lips before she could rectify what she just did.

She isn't planning to sit down and watch Diana win a battle that was meant to be won by her. She's only here because Jason is the only person that could help her.

“That's enough Linda!” James shouted at her and her eyes widened at him doing that. He slumped back on his seat when he saw the expression on her face, she's such a handful.

Had it been that he wasn't sleeping with her he wouldn't be in this mess right now. It's not a secret that she's a hardworking person and her position in the company had nothing to do with sleeping with him. It's just that he's sick and tired of her bantering forward as if she was his fucking wife!

The moment she left his office to the restroom, she let out a frustrated shout. Her eyes were red, filled with hatred for the name Diana Ross and the person bearing it.

What made her more annoyed was the guts of everyone, to laugh in her face as if being openly rejected by Xavier Kings wasn't a huge insult to her face.

Then Diana doubles it by thinking that just because she was luckily picked by him had changed her world. No! This isn't about the word being lucky, a foul play has been played behind her back and she's not going to sit down and be the laughing jest of everyone.

She slumped on her chair, closing her eyes for abit to gather her thoughts. With the plan that she had in mind it was going to risk Diana's identity, being revealed to the public as the one behind Xavier's new book.

An action that would cause enough damage to the company as a whole, including that of Xaviers because he has other plans in mind in revealing who his editor was, as if it was his engagement party with Diana that he's planning.

But then she's not going to be the person to take the fall, neither would she be blamed for having a trainee on the job rather than a professional.

James has made his choice and that's to leave Diana to be, now she's allowed to make her own choice.

After being said and done, after her thinking out everything that is going to happen with what she had in mind, the young woman didn't have a change of mind nor did she accept her reality.

She took her phone before dialing a number and after the second ring, the recipient picked up the call.

“Reporter Daniels, it's me, Linda.”She said, looking outside.

“Oh! Linda, how have you been? To what do i owe this sudden attention, if i could remember you don't pick my calls ever since hitting it big with J&C?” Reporter Daniels laughed.

“How about i tell you that i have something big that would break history from your side?”

The man paused which made Linda wonder if he thinks that she's kidding.

“When? Where are we meeting up, don't fuck me up Linda, I'm a busy man.”He said, which made Linda roll her eyes.

“Eight, tonight. I will send the location to you, you can choose to doubt me, Daniels. But we have come a long way for me to fuck you up.”

“Fine, eight then.”

When the call ended, she relaxed more on her chair feeling a burden being lifted off her shoulders.
