Chapter 220

Chapter 220

After Everett got in the car, he trembled and said nervously in a low voice, "The priest is gone. If you want to find him, you'll have to go down there!"

"What do you mean?"

Emily looked at Everett with a serious expression.

Everett grunted and turned his head away, "Why should I tell you? You've already arrested me anyway. I'll probably spend the rest of my life in prison, so I'm not saying anything!"

The next second, Joshua raised his fist and punched Everett hard in the face, "There's no body camera in this car, nothing here at all. So forget about us beating you up—we could kill you right now and it wouldn't matter, you bastard!"

This Everett really was a damn scumbag. If he hadn't come up with this scam scheme, so many people wouldn't have been fooled.

What was most disgusting was that he had first used this method to swindle money from the wealthy and middle class.

When the middle class and rich people ran out of money, he actually started scamming poor people.

Although everyone wanted to beat him up, they held back their emotions.

Joshua was just trying to scare Everett.

This type of person valued his life the most—otherwise he wouldn't have spent so much money hiring bodyguards from abroad.

Emily bit her lip tightly, looking at Everett with deep eyes, "If you don't talk, don't blame us for not being nice."

"Fine, I'll tell you. It won't do you any good anyway. The priest is dead. A week ago, on our way to Avalonia, he had a heart attack on the plane."

When Everett spoke, his eyes darted around, not even daring to look directly at William and Emily.

Never mind Delilah—even Emily could see at a glance that Everett's micro-expressions were off. She immediately determined that Everett must be lying.

"You're not telling the truth?"

Emily gradually moved closer to Everett. She gripped his hand tightly with her fingers. This kind of pain could make someone feel suffocated, but wouldn't hurt his vital points.

Cold sweat broke out all over Everett's body. He seemed not to have expected that Emily, this seemingly fragile woman, would have such a strong grip.

In the car, the group took turns interrogating him, but nothing compared to William pressing a gun against Everett's head.

As he pulled the trigger, even Alfonso was stunned!

"Although this Everett definitely deserves to die, William, don't do anything stupid! It's not worth throwing away your career prospects for someone like him!"

Alfonso was a loyal guy. Although he said this, trying to persuade William, he didn't actually make any move to stop him. He was even already planning the next step in his mind.

If William really executed this Everett on the spot, you couldn't blame William—it was Everett who wanted to die, deliberately running into William's gun!

Everett was scared stiff. Suddenly unable to hold it in, the front of his pants became wet.

A foul smell of urine filled the entire car.

"I'll talk!"

Everett really couldn't hold it in anymore.

He hadn't expected that these cops at the police station would be even more formidable than he imagined. With such forceful methods, no one could withstand it.

What's more, he hadn't even had the chance to hear his son call him dad yet!

Everett's greatest wish in life was to have a son. He had made so much money—wasn't it all so he could have someone to carry on the family line?

In the police station interrogation room, Everett sat in the chair wearing handcuffs, his face gray as iron, "The priest and I had a dispute. We disagreed before, and he actually wanted to split up with me. If we split up, how much money would I lose? I could still calculate that account clearly, so I just..."

He hesitated, trying to find excuses to defend himself.

But Emily spoke first, helping him continue, "So you chose to make your move against the priest on the plane to Avalonia. That little boy is actually the priest's son. Where is he?"

"He..."

Everett shook his head, then suddenly seemed to remember something, "I heard before that the priest wanted to send him to an international school, but we were going to Avalonia to escape, so he sent the child to an adoptive family."

This priest had done so many bad things, yet still thought he could live out his days in peace, even leaving a way out for his son.

"What do you know about the Brown family incident?"

Emily's hand gently tapped on the table as she looked at Everett with deep eyes.

Since Everett had managed to infiltrate the church's upper levels in such a short time, she didn't believe he knew nothing about what had happened in the church before.

Everett hesitated for a long time. He looked at Emily with teary eyes, "I can tell you everything I know, but I have one condition."

"At a time like this, you still dare to make conditions with us?"

Emily looked at Everett with an incredulous gaze. She couldn't help but find it somewhat funny—this person really was greedy enough.

Forced into a corner, Everett could only weakly state his request. What he wanted was simple—to see his son one more time.

After all, today had been so rushed that he hadn't even had time to hold his son!

Emily let out a long sigh, "You're not in a position to negotiate with us."

After a long standoff, Everett could only explain everything from beginning to end.

Years ago, Light Feather Church had already developed deep roots globally. Their original intention was to establish a business association, ideally to dominate globally and monopolize all markets.

The previous priest wanted to threaten William's father Nolan, trying to buy out his operating rights, even offering thirty percent of the church's operating profits. Nolan refused.

So the church later conspired to set up this frame-up.

Most importantly, they wanted to destroy William's family and make Nolan die with grievances in the end!

"Even that girl you met before who could hypnotize—she's also from Light Feather Church. Our Light Feather Church is very powerful. As for the priest, I have to say he and his father really were capable people. They tried to control the world, but the plans they proposed could actually be implemented."

When Everett said this, his eyes were full of regret.

If it weren't for their failed investment recently that almost bankrupted them, they wouldn't be facing this situation.

He might have really been able to help the priest achieve this grand vision.
