ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX
Dianna's POV
I left in utter confusion as I stared at the gemstone it was glowing on the inside. I just kept it to myself.
The old lady had this strange spiritual aura to her, and I couldn't help but believe whatever she just said to me, leaving me in anxiety and fear of the unknown.
That means something terrible it's on its way here on my wedding day. I wish I could know better so I can stop all of it before it comes.
I sat on one of the chairs thinking and staring into the gemstone. I remembered what the old lady said, our memories would be wiped off if I use this gemstone. Is this really going to be for the good?
I just wished nothing would happen and it's all a lie. My thoughts were then interrupted by one of my maids.
"My lady, it's your wedding day, you're not supposed to be here today." She said as she walked over to me.
I smiled and then replied to her, "I'm just inspecting the arena, that's all."
I quickly requested water as I was thirsty and she quickly went out and brought it. I finished drinking it and about to stand and leave, suddenly the glass cup fell and broke up pieces on the ground.
This is surely a bad omen, something really bad is coming. I looked at the maid and she confirmed it too as she was confused and afraid too.
"Don't worry my lady, it's just a fall, there's nothing more to it. What could possibly happen today of all days." She said, faking a smile, I responded with a fake smile too.
I know this was just a proof of what is to come on the day. I was growing more scared and anxious as the day got brighter.
Soon, everyone started waking up and going about their duties in preparation for the wedding. I wanted to talk to Neil about the old lady and the prophecy but it's customary for the bride not to see her groom and mate before the marriage. She can see him only at the marriage rites.
I wished I could abolish that law and run off to Neil and tell him about the impending dangers. My parents weren't even helping matters, my mother and father made sure I never left my room.
Finally, when it was time for the marriage rites, I went out in a procession of maids headed by my parents. I could see Neil smiling at me in the aisle, I wished he could read my mind at the moment. I had a lot of wishes running through my mind at the moment.
Just as I got to the aisle ready to take our marriage vows, we heard a loud bang, we all turned to the direction of the loud noise which was from the entrance into the hall, we all found out it was an explosion.
I began to cry in my heart as my heart sank in fear, I cried that it shouldn't be the prophecy that is coming to reality. The guards immediately surrounded me and Neil to protect us while the other pack members went out to find out what it was.
Suddenly, Levi killed and fought all of Neil's men and made his way into the hall. He came with the company and they were here for no business but to kill.
His eyes turned red revealing he is a vampire, the crowd murmured in fear on noticing Levi wasn't our kind.
We all know, wasn't here for the party as Neil ordered his men to safely take out all the guests which they did quickly.
Neil wanted to attack, but my father stopped him. My father decided to take on Levi by himself, together with Neil's men.
Levi being the beast he is, fought with speed no one could reach, not even my father. He killed lots of our men and then he was faced with my father. My father fought valiantly trying to protect us but Levi was stronger and dealt with him greatly.
I was pushed to use the gemstone when my father was killed by one of Levi's men as my father wanted to land a hit on him. Levi immediately came to his senses too, he ordered the battle to stop but the men he came with had other plans they kept on fighting. I recognized some of them and realized they were Tristan's men. And when I said this to them, Neil ran after Levi. Levi didn't want to fight anymore, but there was already so much going on so he had to defend himself.
I remembered what the old lady said. I realized I would have done this a long time before my father died. And just when Neil and Levi wanted to go head on, I released the powers from the gemstone and everything turned white.
I woke up in my room with my mother. I went out to find Neil looking out the window. I called out to him. He turned and couldn't recognize me, he tried but couldn't recognize me. And not just him, but everyone present at the wedding.
My mother was no different, she didn't even know her husband was dead. I was left with the burden of carrying all their memories for life.
I went back to my room to cry my eyes out. My father died and no one, not even his wife could mourn him leaving the job to just me. Later, I wiped off my tears knowing it was for the best, more death would have happened if I allowed the battle to continue without releasing the powers of the gemstone.
Neil, on the other hand, couldn't control his anger towards us, myself and my mother, he just couldn't understand his pain and anger, he tried remembering but it wasn't coming back. He had to send us packing for our own good.
Me and my mother had to start life afresh, notwithstanding, I still had plans to kill Tristan. I knew he orchestrated all of these.
My mother later remarried an alpha as she couldn't remember she was supposed to mourn her husband. Alpha Rowland just needed a mother for his two boys Andrew and Finn.
I didn't want that at first, but when I got into this family I began to love my step-brothers. It was as though life gave us a second chance at it, as we began to slowly forget our past.
Levi later turned to be an alpha of another clan without knowing he was enemies with Neil. I was the only one left with all that memory. And slowly I began to forget as well. It was as though my mother was reborn as well.
But, a few months later, I heard Neil was looking for me. He had found out who I truly was. My cousin who was at the wedding, Michael found out about everything and the gemstone, he told Neil all about it and they started searching for me.
Although, I and Neil left on a rough path. There was so much maltreatment from him due to his frustration of his lost memories. He mistreated me until I lost all feelings I had for him.
In the end, I met all of them, but I had to pretend that I never knew all of them for the safety of everyone, a choice that was so heavy in my heart.
