Chapter 33

ELLIE;

A sharp pain jolted me awake. My hands and legs, burning from an intense burn I couldn't quite place.

As I blinked my eyes open, I tried to adjust my eyesight, but noticed the room I was in, was dark, with little to no ventilation.

The room was cold, and I discovered I was sitting on the bare floor. A little movement on my part caused the sharp pain to course through me.

Silver?

I tried to move again, and...

"Ahhhhhhh!!!"

The pain was intense this time, as I heard the chains rattled. My hands and legs were chained to the wall or... something I couldn't see properly.

It seemed like a mini room, but way too cold for a normal room. The only light available was a little flicker from a tiny space above me.

"Anyone there?" I called out, "Hello?"

Like, who the hell had the effrontery to lock and chain me up in a shabby place like this?

I had only gone out to get the potions from Draco, and...

My eyes widened as the sudden realization dawned on me.

No! He wouldn't do that to me. Not like this. We had a fucking deal!

The rattling of chains on metal, made my head snap to the side, and a bright light penetrated the room, almost blinding my eyes.

Only then did I realize that I was in a kind of... storehouse? Large enough to fit in a hundred people.

My hands and legs were chained to a pole by the side, which I had to avoid the minimalist move in order not to hurt myself.

Trying to regulate my breathing, I saw a man step into the room with an aura I couldn't quite place properly. Behind him were three men who stood at the door as he walked in.

He was tall and bulky, his feet stomping into the space with commanding steps. But there was something strangely suspicious and so familiar about him.

He came closer to me, his lips curled up in a wide smirk, "Well, well, well...If it isn't the Luna to be, of the Silver Moon Pack," he said in a mocking tone.

He walked further beside me, grabbed a stool by the side, and pulled it toward me.

"Who are you?" I asked, my voice laced with confusion as I stared him up.

He raised a brow as he stared at me, and noisily sat on the stool. I took advantage of his proximity to observe him from the floor where I sat, my brows furrowing, trying to discern what and how he seemed so familiar.

I took in a deep breath, trying so hard to ignore the burn in my hands and legs, "I asked you a question. Who the hell are you? Why am I here?!"

For whatever reason, he seemed to derive pleasure in himself as he watched me.

He didn't answer my question, rather he said, "I wonder how the Alpha would react when his Luna to be is nowhere to be found, just a week to the mating ceremony..."

I fisted my hands, trying so hard to get the chains off, but the silver only did more damage, "Let me go, this instant!" I snapped my head to him.

"You do not know what you are signing up for. Let me go and I might be lenient with you."

This can't be happening. Not now, at least. Despite myself, my heart rate increased, suddenly wary of who they were and what they planned to do.

He came forward, grabbing my chin, "You just have to pray to the Moon goddess...Your well-being is gonna be determined by how fast your Alpha comes to your rescue."

I knew this was a mistake from the start. I wasn't supposed to be out of the mansion alone. That wimpy maid was supposed to be the one here!

He pulled at the chains again, causing them to strain hard on my wrists, the pain making me scream in anguish.

He wanted me to plead, grovel, or fall at his feet, but I wasn't doing that.

"Wait until the Alpha gets here," I seethed, "And pray he doesn't kill you himself, because I would gladly see to it, that you are tortured beyond repair."

I stared at him from under my lashes, as he brought out a phone, dialing a number on it.

"You underestimate me, woman! I guess we just have to wait and see how fast he would come running to you."

For some reason, I dreaded the outcome. But I was a little relieved and knew that Lorenzo would not hesitate the moment he heard this.

No Alpha would wanna put their unborn child at risk.

I chuckled, "You should be sorry by the time Lorenzo steps foot in here. But you can choose to make this easier for us both. Let me go, and I might lessen whatever punishment awaits you."

His eyes were on the phone in his hands, "Seems our Alpha is quite busy dear. Maybe you aren't as important as you thought you were." He flung the phone aside at that and fished his hand into his jacket, bringing out a parcel.

"So...care to indulge what this little potion is for?" He smirked, waving the parcel in the air.

My eyes widened as they rested on it, making my heart skip.

He shouldn't have that.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"Oh, I think you do. Cause I am already curious." He leaned forward, meeting my gaze and his eyes turned dark.

"And once I am curious, dear. There's no stopping me until I get to the root of it."

My breathing was coming out harsh as I tried to remain still, but the silver chains were messing with my skin.

Hissing lowly, I seethed, "Get these chains off me and we can talk."

His eyes flashed dangerously at me, holding my gaze and I couldn't help the cold shiver running down my spine.

His eyes! I could have sworn they turned golden for a second. But just as quickly as they came, it was gone. Leaving me wondering if I had imagined it.

He stood up abruptly at that moment, the chair scraping against the floor with the force of his action.

In no time, he was out of the room, leaving me with a strange ominous feeling.

The men still stood at the entrance, their cold gazes boring into me like icy daggers.

As soon as the man stepped out of the room, he released a cold breath. Clenching his fists, he made a conscious effort to control his raging beast.

He couldn't understand why his wolf, Zane, who had been distant for a while was suddenly acting up again.

For a few minutes, he gazed up at the skies with a feral glint in his eyes.

He was Orion Stone, younger brother of Alpha Williamson of the Crystal Moon Pack, which was massacred years ago.

Technically, as the only living relative of his brother, he was next in line for the Alpha position, as his brother had only a daughter.

But, fate played a nasty trick on them. The Silver Moon Pack was massacred and burned to ashes, his family along with it.

Footsteps sounded beside him, and a voice spoke, "Alpha Orion."

It was Draco, a member of the little Pack he has been growing for a while now. Draco was his right-hand man and informant. With his help, he had been keeping tabs on the Alpha Lorenzo's Pack for a long while and had gained the trust of the Luna.

Shady, was what he used to describe the latest happenings in the Pack. Not only had the Luna been demanding different mixes and potions, but she often frequented a particular location nightly, once every month.

"What did you find out, Draco?"He asked in a low deep tone, without so much as turning.

Draco stood beside him, as he responded, "Nothing much, Alpha. Besides the fact that she'd just asked for an Aphrodisiac just a few days ago, and now....the potion."

This time, Orion turned sharply, in an attempt to cut him off, "And what about Jasmine? Didn't you say she was supposed to be out, rather than her?" He pointed toward the room.

His expression was livid as fury danced in his eyes. A few months ago, he had gotten information from a few persons that his brother's only daughter, Jasmine, was found at the Silver Moon Pack.

Orion was elated at first because he had thought all along that she was dead.

But his fury unleashed, the moment he discovered she was a maid in the Alpha's mansion. Leading him to delve deeper into the reason why an Alpha's daughter...a princess was reduced to a mere maid.

At first, he had wanted to storm into the Pack and get her, but Orion was a calculative businessman. He took his time, observing what and how things were run in the Pack.

As far as he knew, no Alpha would take in another Alpha's child and reduce him or her to a maid.

It was no coincidence. He thought.

After getting news that she would be stepping out to get a parcel for the Luna, he had driven into town specifically to see her.

Only to get disappointed. However, his disappointment was a blessing in disguise to him. He would use Ellie to get what he wanted.

Lorenzo,

The Silver Moon Pack,

And his niece.

But what Orion didn't know was that the Moon Goddess had other plans for him. His wolf, Zane was scratching at the surface, and his Mate, who he had been searching for a long time, was closer than he expected.
