Chapter 52 Blood will flow
DARIUS
Making my way down the hallway I couldn't help but let my mind wander to the new development. Vivian, the sister to the rascal of an Alpha that mistreated my mate is here and requests to see me. There were a lot of things I wanted to do to her for putting my mate through such hell and talking with her was not one of them, but I had to. My love was at stake. She said she had news about Hunter and Audrey was in danger so I had no choice but to hear her out. For all I knew she may have been spilling lies but I have to give her the chance to explain and see how much of a treat Hunter was.
I had never asked Audrey what had happened between them but my intelligence had informed me more than enough to know their family was screwed up and all of them deserved to die by my hands. Hunter was the obsessed crazed Alpha's son who thought my mate was his. The information better be of his death or else I could promise I would be the last thing he sees before I send him to meet his maker.
Pushing the huge wood doors open I strolled in, my head high and my shoulders squared. My stoic expression took over, my chest out displaying my dominance and superiority over everyone else in the room. I mounted the steps, the two males bowing as I walked passed them up the steps.
I turned around, letting my eyes circle the throne room before I took my seat, my throne as king. My sword in one hand my crown was placed on my head, fitting perfectly with my skull. I felt the power radiating off me in waves. No one could deny it, they all felt it. I was their rightful king, the prophecy foretold my existence, it couldn't be denied. I nodded towards my beta, standing strong beside me.
The grand doors were pushes open once again and two guards emerged, pulling a blonde she wolf in with them. She didn't struggle and when her face rose to meet mine I could see the pain and agony evident in her gaze. Immediately she was struck, her head wiping to the opposite direction, away from the hit.
"Keep your gaze casted down. No one dares look into the eyes of the king" one of the guards spat, growling angrily and the defiance.
She whimpered, keeping her head hung low. I watched on, letting my thumb run along the rings on my knuckles as I let my eyes run down her dirt clad form.
Her clothes or what once were clothes were muddy and torn, her hair sharing the same faith. She had cuts and bruises and looked to be barely able to stand on her own two feet if it weren't for the guards that were practically holding her up.
"Vivian, daughter of late Nicholas of the Silver Moon pack. You have been summoned before me because you claim to have crucial information concerning my mate. If you are indeed telling the truth speak now." My voice boomed through the hall, effectively capturing everyone's senses. I motioned her forward, her knees hitting the ground immediately the guards let go of her arms.
I waited, watching with a blank expression as she stood on her wobbly legs. Her gaze met mine for a second before fear flashes behind her green irises and she lets them fall to my feet. "Y-your highness. My mother and I had made a plan with Hunter" she started, gulping slowly as the tension settled in her shoulders.
I narrowed my gaze on her, listening closely to the now rapid beating of her heart. "What was the plan? Hold anything back and you will be executed for conspiring against the crown and planning an attack on your princess" I stated, letting my hard gaze settle on her.
"W-we had planned to team up with other packs t-to take you down. We wanted to form a coupe and overthrow you but Hunter went rogue and destroyed everything. His wolf became blood thirsty and hunted every last one of us down and destroyed the pack. I was the only one he let survive, he told me to come give you a message" she paused, her wide frantic eyes meeting mine for a split second "I'm coming for my mate and blood will flow"
I stilled, my blood running cold and my shoulders tensing.
He knew about the prophecy, how?
It had not been spoken about for many decades and no one apart from me has lived through it to tell the tale. Something was amiss...
"Your Highness?" Ryker called out, bringing me out of my daze.
"Take her away" I commanded, finally looking towards her.
Within seconds the guards had pulled her away kicking and screaming. I got up, strolling around with my hands folded behind me. There was no way he could have heard it from someone, no one born in this age knew about it. The prophecy was as old as time, as old as I.
"How could he know?" I asked vaguely, knowing full well Ryker would understand.
"I have no idea your majesty. But if he knows what we think he does then we are all doomed. He will come for Audrey and for you, he'll come for everything" I gazed at him, locking eyes with his disturbed violet orbs.
"I need to protect her. From everything, if he does know about the prophecy then he'll be coming for her. We can't let that happen, we have to keep her safe. I can't loose her, I almost lost her twice and I would be damned I'd I let it happen again" I spoke, glaring holes into the tall pillar that stood off to my right.
"I think we have another issue to worry about Darius" i gazed at him, his brows knotted in angst. "I think there's someone in the castle that wants to hurt Audrey"
I snapped my head in his direction, my brows fell taking my calm demeanor with them "What do you mean someone wants to hurt Audrey?" I asked
Ryker inhaled sharply, his gaze shifting to stare at the ground "I found it strange that Audrey's boat would just sink like that in the water. There was a boat rider assigned to each of them so the question was where was the one responsible for the boat Audrey got on. I didn't want to bombard her with questions so I decided to conduct my own investigation" he stopped, watching me closely.
"And?" My desperation bled through my words as my hold tightened around the sword in my hand.
"And there were six boats available for rides, out of six of them only five drivers were found. One is missing"
"The one that took Audrey out into the water" I completed.
"Yes. I didn't really know much about any of them so I can't say for certain what he looked like nor how to find him. The only option would be to ask-
"No" I sharply cut him off.
