Chapter 166 Media hall
She shivered, a soft inaudible moan escaping her lips "What sinful things?" She asked, her voice light and breathless.
This woman was going to be the death of me, it's a good thing I was immortal then "Let me show you"
I continued the pleasured torture on her throat while my hands roamed her body, tugging on her robe and pulling it apart. A gasp left her lips and her eyes fluttered open. Her pebbles stood, as if ready for me.
"What if someone sees?" Her voice trembled, her breaths coming out short as I began groping her breasts, twisting her pebbles between my fingers.
"We have this wing all to ourselves" I whispered, pressing a kiss to her ear. "And I promised to take you on every spot of our chambers, yes?"
"....Y-yes!"

Upon their arrival to the media hall nerves had begun to beat against Audrey's insides.
The hall was large and looked like it could contain half of Blüdhaven which was the idea after all, the journalists would swarm the building once the news of Darius's public statement would reach far and near. Taking firm hold of his little bride they saunter into the hall, Royal guards scattered around, securing them.
Audrey took a seat, her hands trembling slightly as she watched from a far distance as the journalists started trooping in, the guards standing by at the entrance and around the corners. Darius watched her closely, trying to get a read on her feelings. It was obvious she was nervous, that was all he could tell at first glance. A smile curved at his lips, she had never been good at hiding her anxiety, his sweet little bride, "Hey baby, you okay?" He kneels before her, palming her cheeks and raising her face to his view.
Her bottom lip was pulled between her teeth, her fingers busy fiddling with the end of her dress, "Yes. I'm just worried something is going to go wrong" she blows out a puff of air, trying to let out the breath she had been unconsciously holding. Rough fingers caressed her cheeks in silent comfort, smoothing over her skin and her worries.
"I refuse to let anything go wrong. They are men stationed at every corner, ready to spring into action. You have nothing to be worried of love. Just keep your eyes on mine" he connected their forehead, staring deeply into her eyes, letting her comb through the many tales of emotions his eyes spilled, raw and unfiltered. She couldn't help but let her restless mind and heart calm to his reassuring words.
Distant footsteps nearing them attracted their attention. Audrey turned to see Madame Chandler and Eloise standing together and watching their exchange with distaste and bitterness, skillfully covered with pockured faces. Darius stood to his feet, his demeanor switching from calm, sweet to one that exuded power and demanded respect for he knew better than to spare eveenba fleeting smile to the women that stood in front of him. They had the guts to bully and ridicule his mate, if not for his bride's for giving heart they would have been reduced to rubble after a single command of his. But alas, he was slave to the wishes of his beloved mate.
"Madame Chandler" he acknowledged, completely ignoring Eloise. Quietly she bit her cheek, trying to mask her hurt bit Audrey could see right through her subtly agitated glance.
"Your Highness" Madame Chandler takes a court bow, her eyes glancing towards Audrey then back to Darius. "Please may I have a word with you?"
Darius frowned, his face in a stoic scowl that could make even the strongest soldiers faulter, "Speak your mind"
Madame Chandler cast an annoyed look towards Audrey, her eyes telling that she wished if she looked hard enough Audrey would just disappear from the face of the realm. But unfortunately she was not that lucky. She cleared her throat, "In private"
Before Darius could open his lips to rebuke Madame Chandler, he felt a soft touch on his arm. Slowly he gazed down, his eyes softening the moment they registered the love of his eternal soul. Audrey Gage him a reassuring nod, silently telling him to go with her and listen to Madame Chandler.
"Forgive my boldness but you have to see that after today there is no turning back, no redemption. You will be naming a human as your bride, staking every heir as half legitimate because a half breed with ascend the throne after you." Madame Chandler watched him closely, careful to keep the spite out of her voice, knowing full well how easily he would snap if she spoke out of line.
Darius turned his gaze to her, his expression cold and emotionless, "I have no intention of taking back my claim to my mate, my soul mate given to me by the goddess herself"
"I was lenient with you by my mate's request. Or else, by now you would have been ripped of all your power and status" he closed the distance between them, his form and stance exuding a dangerous chill that flowed right though Madame Chandler. The air had shifted and it became tight, to the point it was hard for her to remain standing in his presence. His wolf had taken precedence. Golden flakes pooled in the depths of his deep onyx eyes, the once calm ripples of water erupting in a catastrophic hurricane, promising to leave fire and reeek havoc on whichever soul would be unlucky enough to trespass.
"Do remember, you are still in this position because of my mate. Because of the one you dared to look down on you are able to stand here and call yourself the Madame of the socialites, all because of her. You owe her everything you have" he began strutting away, a sinister aura following behind him. "Never forget that"
Madame Chandler let out a strangled breath and fell to her knees, clutching her fists to her chest. Her breaths came out rushed and restricted, her lungs deprived of the much needed H20 for the past few minutes.
Fear gripped at her, her eyes darting about uncontrollable, her whole form shaking and tears pouring down her cheeks. She had never experienced this influence, this darkness that Darius had used on her. And from the look of it he was holding himself back from doing much more damage. Her chest began to constrict, the little amount of air that had managed to slip on being squeezed back out.
