Chapter 104 New Head
Now that was enough to grab at least more of Darius's attention, he had not failed to notice the concern that over took Ryker the moment he learned about the bruises Anaise had sustained on the night of the attack and everyday unfailingly he had made sure to be by her side.
It was tugging at Darius's curiousity, he wanted to know what was going on between the two but kept his questions to himself. He would ask Ryker about it later, certainly they were just getting closer as friends. Ryker had not shown any interest in any other she wolf after Elara, so he wouldn't start now. Their fall out was pretty bad and it took a toll on Ryker so much so that he threw himself into his work and till now struggled to find himself out of his duties to the kingdom.
"They seem to be really close" Darius wondered out loud.
"Yeah, Astrid doesn't seem to like it though" Audrey's mind was also occupied with Elder Azalia whom she had just learnt was in isolation because of some mysterious illness. What tickled her interest was that not only were the Jigalian guards found dead when the castle guards arrived but there was no sign of any weapons around nor was there sign of Elder Azalia. As much as she was grateful Audrey couldn't help but find it weird but kept it to herself as she had expressed her thoughts before but Darius reassured her.
Too deep in thought Audrey hadn't realised Darius was speaking "Anthony will be the new head of Jigalia. He will be among the table that I will delicate with concerning the new law" she heeard just in time. Audrey had forgotten about the Lord Anthony scene I order to keep the peace it was best she didn't tell Darius but now with him be coming a properly titled man as one of the Dukes it will be hard to avoid him especially because he will be around for the delegations. She could only hope a scene isn't made.
"Please, just be careful. Okay?" Audrey's worried tone caused Darius to look down at her, a reassuring smile on his face. He tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, his finger caressing her cheek he cupped it in his large rough hand, guiding her face closer to his.
"I promise" his hot breath fanned against her face. Her eyes drifted to his lips and his to hers, their urges taking control. It was like a force, the force of their desires were pulling them together as Darius guided Audrey's face to his, completely covering her lips in a passionate kiss that left Audrey's knees going weak. His lips bruises hers, his hot tongue delving into her mouth, tasting every sweet crevice and inch of her.
He nibbled on her lower lip, not restricting himself from sucking it into his mouth and leaving her panting. The kiss was one of desire, promise and a gesture that shared everything they couldn't express in words. As his arms tightened around her, pressing her small form further into his tent making her whimper in want.

AUDREY
Birds sang in the distance, their audible chirps subtle but present. Cool sweep of the wind gliding gently across my cheeks and pushing against my hair. The leaves of the trees rattled in the wind, the air whistling through the skies and marking the atmosphere as a pleasant one.
I inhaled deeply, shutting my eyes as I let the calmness envelope all my senses. I deflated into my seat, letting a small smile creep onto my lips. My fingers traced the thick pages of the book I held in hand, summarizing every bend and curve of my current favourite that sat in my hands. I made a mental note to revisit the page where I had last left my bookmarks.
Spending some time alone in Darius and my private garden had become a constant therapeutic experience for me. It was like taking a break from the hectic nature that I had gotten so used to- spending hours in the village, donating to the public and making an appearance in all the villages, the many the better, according to Elder Irene. I had to make sure the people of Bludhàven got used to seeing me, as their King's Princess consort, soon to be queen.
I understood all that but with all the changing of dresses and meeting of Dukes I hardly had enough time to spend with just myself and my thoughts. My mind had been quiet lately, something I should have been thankful for but now I had realised I was only distracted and as my mind was given room to wander all my thoughts came swarming back.
I couldn't help the giddy smile that over took my lips. The memories of when mama told me I'd find someone, someone who would love me like papa loved her as she gazed onto the moon she spoke with hearts in her eyes
"He would love you from there and back like your daddy loves me. He'll protect you from anything that could hurt you, he'll move the very tallest mountain for you, he'll hold you so delicately and cherish you forever and your heart will race every single time you see him like you've just run a marathon."
My parents were lovers, hardcore lovers who although they had to elope never let it affect me. I never knew my grandparents nor the people from my mother's pack but I was given more than enough love to not feel the absence or need for anyone else to love me.
Mom would always tell me how much she and dad loved each other, as much as a little child could understand her words I captured every memory, every moment when her eyes would gleam with love souring through their depths, a distant far away look completely taking over her features, the smile only someone in love could possess being proudly worn on her lips.
