Chapter 68

UNKNOWN

I stared out of the window, something was coming, and it was meant to find us.

“Can you feel it?” asks Dalia. “She must be here.”

I could feel movement behind me, but this place has its perks of being out in the middle of nowhere. But having three witches waiting for the one thing that will take down Aria once and for all.

“It has to be her,” says Everly, coming to my side. “Sage, we need to find her.”

I stare out, not saying a word to either of them. All three of us have a goal, to kill Aria and store balance to the supernatural world.

I thought that the white wolf would come here, but I know what the moon goddess would do. It was written in our stars, as people would say.

Aria hasn’t been keeping anything secret. She is still killing people for their essence, but it is the children that she has created. Each of them has a purpose, and it is terrifying to know that she will use their blood with the white wolfs to make her more powerful. She could destroy all of the supernatural world with just a snap of her finger.

Word had gotten out around the small shifter town close by that there was a white wolf, and she was the most powerful one ever to walk the earth's existence. Aria made it impossible for people to leave, but something tells me they might follow the white wolf once freed from Aria's control.

She might be the moon goddess creation, but having a witch ancestor was something else to add to the mix, and Aria doesn’t know a thing about what she is up against, and we want to keep it like that.

I have followed and even read everything there is about the white wolf.

I couldn’t come when she needed me; well all three of us couldn’t. But she has been on the radar; we knew when that pathetic wolf would attack, to Aria moving her beloved mates and children away.

“Sage, talk to us,” calls Everly, pulling me from my thoughts. I turn around and look at both of them and sigh. “Dalia, do a locator's spell to see if she is close by?” I say to her. She nods.

Everly stares at me as Dalia leaves to do the spell. “She should be easy to locate,” she says.

I don’t say anything.

“Do you think Aria will know she's here?” asks Everly as Dalia starts to chant.

I look at her, “if we can feel the shift in the air,” I say to her, not taking my eyes off her. “We might stand a chance, but she does have a warlock son remember, he could let her know. We need to find her first and help her locate the children.”

Everly nods and glances behind me. I knew where her mind was going; it always went there when we ever talked about Aria. Dalia and I want revenge on Aria for what she did to our families; she killed all of our covens, leaving six survivors. Dalia and I were of the six, and we knew we were the last of our coven. We went into hiding and hid for a while until we came along to a small human town where we met Everly. What had happened to her family was the same but with a twisted fate.

Everly was the only one of us who had ever found their mate until Aria came. Aria wiped out her whole coven. Everly made it out alive with her mate, only for Aria to lure her mate away. Everly told us that Aria seduced her mate, but there was just pure heartache after a few years. Before we arrived at the town, bodies started to show up outside the town she was staying in, and one of them was her mates.

It broke her, and she has never been whole ever since.

I watch my sister witch as her eyes brim, but she never cries.

I gently rub her arm as she turns to face me. I can’t help my heartbreak for her all over again. No one should have gone through what she has, not just losing her family but also her mate. It is the worst feeling in the world; all I get to see is the shell of a woman.

“I found her,” shouts Dalia as she runs into the room. She stops and stares at us; she knew by the look on Everly’s face where she was; we both have seen this look so many times over the years.

“Where is she?” I asked.

Dalia takes a moment but looks at me. “She just landed and is on the move; it looks like she is in a car,” she says.

I gently squeeze Everly’s arm and move away from her. I walk over to my coat and grab my phone and purse.

I looked at both of them to see them watching my every move.

“Where are you going?” asks Everly, pulling herself out of her head.

I stare at her for a moment, but I sigh. “I’m going to get her and bring her back here. She is going to need some rest. I have put feelers around, and one of the shifter in the town knows of the bear shifter that is helping her and her guardian to come here,” I say to them. I walk up to them and place my hands in their hands. “You both need to stay here, make sure the barrier is up, and have everything ready for when we arrive. She will need training when she comes.”

Dalia nods and looks at me. “What about the dragon?” she asks. “Do you think he will be with her?”

I nod.

“I think so; he has woken up from his nap,” I say. “So he won’t leave her side. He is her savior remember; he will want to make sure she's safe.”

I look between my witch sisters, “This will be Aria’s defeat,” I say to them. “We will stay on course and help the white wolf.”

They both nod.

I quickly turn around and slip on my coat, placing my purse and phone in my pocket. I looked toward Dalia, “send me the directions if they move,” I said to her.

She nods.

I walked over to the front door and glanced back at the women who I had grown more fond of over the years.

“Everything will be alright,” I say to them.

Dalia nods, but Everly has her blank expression back on her face.

I walk through the front door and head through the forest. As soon as I was out through the barrier, I could feel it lowered. I glance back and notice Dalia in the window; her eyes glow blue when she uses her magic.

The barrier comes down and seals to the ground.

Before I move, I move my hand to the purse and pull out my pendant. The pendant helps me store my magic in public. The pendant not only holds my magic but also disguises my scent from every supernatural being. Many assume I’m human, but many have their hunches.

The human town is where I'm heading; hopefully, Dalia has sent me the exact location of where she is when I get there.

I walk through the forest, hearing howls as I walk past some trees.

There are some werewolves here, but not ones you would consider friendly. They believe we are three human sisters living in the middle of nowhere. They are either stupid dump mutts or know what we are and haven’t told anyone.

I looked around and saw the rustling bushes, but there was no one around.

I know one wolf that would be here, Silas.

I know what he is to me, but I also know what I want to do first. He is my mate, but he knows how important killing Aria and protecting the supernatural world is; it affects not only me but also him and his kind too.

He won’t let anyone hurt me; he told me he would follow me and be my protector.

I haven’t told my sister witches I've found my mate, but I don’t want Everly to think about hers as she does.

I pray that she has a second chance; whoever has had a mate taken from them due to Aria deserves to have another mate.

The ones taken are the ones that she wants and lures them to be her mate. Her magic is tainted, but it's always too late when the mate realizes the mistake.

I come onto the forest path and walk toward the clearing of the human town as I step onto the side of the road.

The surge of power that runs right through the ground sends me on high alert.

I can’t help but glance up and look around.

The magic has come, and I can feel it. Any form of magic you have, you can tell what is, and I know she is here.

The white wolf, I knew she would be powerful. But the power that flows through here is strong.

I know I need to get to her fast.

I need to help her and get to her before Aria realizes that she's here.
