Chapter 61

NATHANIEL

The next morning, I call a meeting in the office.

Dane, Emily, Beta Michael, my father, mother, Sam, Gloria, Miles and Anna are all sitting around the big table.

I tell them everything about the Moon Goddess coming to me and what she told me. It was a huge shock to everyone but they were all trying to wrap their heads around all the information.

“What was the woman’s name again?” asks Anna suddenly who looks like she has seen a ghost by the name I mentioned.

“Aria, do you know of her?” I ask her.

She looks on in shock but snaps out of it as soon as Miles touches her shoulder, she looks hurt for some strange reason “Both me and Libelle cannot get through to Archer, why would I be left here with you?” she asks sounding worried.

I shrug but I do have a theory though “I don’t know but I do have a theory about that, I think the Moon Goddess sent Mila to do whatever she needs to do, you have more insight on this Aria person so you can tell us. But I think Archer has his own quest with the Moon Goddess.”

She looks back and takes in what I've said “I think you might be right, if Mila cannot contact any of you then he must not be able to contact me. We hate not hearing off him” she says with a sigh.

She looks down at the table “Aria was supposed to be our younger brothers mate but he never felt the mat bond connection with her as mates should but with everything you have just told us, she could be manipulating other men into believing that they are her mates.”

She looks up “She must have some dragon blood for some of the spells she has done. Our blood is more powerful when it connects with magic. But imagine mixing dragon blood with a white wolf, it would be deadly for anyone, she would become more powerful.”

We all take in what she said, she must be right. Dragon blood is more magical due to the magnificent creatures that they are and some of the legends only told in stories. But if the White wolf is to be captured, she would have control over everyone including the wolves.

A growl escapes my mouth. Everyone looks at me.

“I think we should pretend that Mila is here, give her that elusion that she is, she won’t go after Mila especially if she thinks she is here” they all nod in agreement “I think we can come up with some precautions around here to make sure we are all safe and also make sure people around here in the pack know that she is still here such as she is helping me with duties around the pack or something.”

I look over to Miles “Would you, Ella and Anna like to live here with us, I know you will want to wait till Mila comes back and see her” I say with a hint of hope.

Miles smiles at me “I’m of Alpha blood but I believe that I am needed here with you. I will be honored to stay here. I will let Alpha Carson know as soon as we are done, I will need to explain a few reasons why I am staying here but leaving a few things out but he knows we are here due to Mila, he will understand” he turns to Ella who is nodding in agreement “I want to wait for my sister in law to come back and think she will be happy to know that she is an auntie” she says with a big smile on her face.

I smile and all three of us look at Anna, she smiles and nods “I go wherever Miles goes; but I will send word for my mate to come here if that is ok. I know Archer and Mila will come back here knowing they have family waiting for them” she says with a small smile.

I look over to Emily who is in some sort of fight in her head as she is staring blankly into thin air “She’s ok young Alpha, she is processing her grief” says Gloria with a smile.

I look back over to see Dane comforting her; I smile with a hint of sadness knowing I will not be able to do that with my mate anytime soon.

Gloria looks at me and smiles “Mila is safe Alpha, between Archer looking after her there are other people who will be there along the way, she might even send them to you” I look at her confused, I wanted to know about what she just said but she taps her nose and smirks.

I'm completely confused at that comment.

“Old lady crazy” says Ox who has been looking through my eyes at the meeting unfolding.

“I agree” I say.

After we all settle on with the meeting, we went over everything such as the new regulations of the pack. I also asked Eric to come into the office once a few members left and made him visit a neighboring pack to ask for assistance with any rogue attacks as we lost so many people today. He is leaving in wolf form even though it is a good few miles away but at least he can have a break from here for a few days. Everyone has now left the office except my father.

“Can I have a word son?” He asks staring at me.

He walks over to the window to look out “I think we need to do you Alpha ceremony soon or when Mila comes back but I want you to take more of a role as alpha now, you have shown me time and time again that you are ready” he says and turns around to face me smiling at me “I think you will make a good Alpha Nate.”

I smile up at him. I don’t know what to say to him.

“I know this going to be hard without your mate but as long as you focus on the pack make it secure for her return, I believe that she will be with you soon, my son” he grabs my hand and pulls me into a hug.

“I’m so proud of you son” he says with a grin plastered on his face.

“You know what that means now, me and Beta Michael can take a well-earned rest while you and Dane take over but we will still be around if you ever need us, I want to make sure you are happy” he says letting me go.

“Thank you father, make sure you and mother stay close as I will need your help” I tell him.

We both walk out together of the office and head to the pack grounds where the funeral ritual of the fallen wolves and different shifters are taking place.

We all decided we will have the next three days to moan the loss of the dead.

ARIA

I stare back at the carnage after the war, all the bodies were being placed for the ritual. I can't help but hiss.

I look at the woman and the group surrounding her, she is next on my list to have. Her brother will be so happy to see her as well but that is if he lives that long to see her, I thought smirking.

I knew coming to check the war was a bad idea but I never realized that George’s daughter was powerful. I must have her power.

I keep looking but there is still no sign of the girl anywhere, I have kept my distance over the years. I had to just in case that stupid Moon Goddess figured out what my plan was.

I huff out.

“Is she there mother” says a voice from behind me, I smile.

I turn around and look at my son, his brother was killed moments ago.

They killed my mates.

They killed my son.

I want them dead.

I didn’t show any affection towards them but they were mine.

“You shouldn’t be here” I say in a hiss but he looks at the carnage.

“We need a new plan and we need to change location soon just in case” he says and with that he disappears.

He reminds me so much of his father.

I glance back at the pack, I will kill you all if it’s the last thing I ever do.

But I suddenly realize one the alphas men has been given an order to go somewhere.

I snap my fingers and three vampires appear, they look at me “That wolf there, bring him back to the safe house I need him” I say, they hiss at me but they head in the direction of the running wolf.

I close my eyes and snap my figures once again; the mist covers me and transports me back to the headquarters, all my minions are hard at work making sure we are all set for the next big war.

No one will stand a chance, not even that pathetic white wolf and her mate.

No one ever thought about looking further away I thought as I stare at the warehouse in the middle of nowhere.
