Chapter 90 NIGHTMARE

Vladimir's excitement was raging. He suddenly felt so alive. His expectation was overflowing. Similar to a kid who was about to receive something nice, he looked at his slave eagerly as the latter took steps towards the portal.

The two dragon slaves left by his side widened their eyes in excitement as well. It was evident that they had such a huge expectation towards their fellow.

However, as they blinked, they suddenly heard a loud thud followed by a painful cry.

Thud!

"Ahhh!"

Vladimir's eyes widened and his pupils shrank immediately. He could hardly believe that his bulky dragon slave was being thrown just like that as soon as his foot touched the ground.

"What... What just happened?" One of the his minions mumbled in shock while the other shook his head unable to speak. He had his eyes widened in astonishment.

"How... How did he..." The latter faltered as he looked back and forth to the portal then to his groaning-in-pain fellow. "Who throws him off?"

Vladimir's eyes darkened as he began to consider one thing. 'Could it be that the portal only allows royal blooded creature?'

He couldn't come up a good explanation to what just happened a moment ago other than that. However, as he recalled that Mystica also went out of that portal, he shook his head.

'There's no way that Darius' little mate belongs to a royal family... She looks so meek and naive.'

Doubt and confusion began to form in his mind. Though his hunch tells him that it was way the other, he shrugged it off. Right now, he had to see for himself!

Vladimir looked at his remaining dragon slaves sternly. With his head gesture, they immediately understood whate he meant. They had to go next and he won't take no for an answer.

The two nodded reluctantly before they also headed to the portal. The image of their fellow helplessly sent flying brougt chills down their spines. They could hardly supress the shaking of their limbs as they clutched the hems of their clothes. They looked at each other before they stepped in and their faces contorted.

"Ugh!" They groaned in unison.

Similar to the first one, the two was sent flying much farther than the previous one.

Thud!

Thud!

This time, Vladimir didn't hear any sounds aside from their groans earlier. He frowned as he looked at them. They're not moving. They just laid there lifeless.

Vladimir shook his head. Determined to confirm his thought, he walked briskly towards the portal.

This was his final resolve. If he could enter the portal successfully then he was right but if he failed, then there must be another explanation for that. Since he couldn't possibly force Darius to tell him the reason, then he might as well go and pay that little mate of his a visit to extract that certain 'explanation' to that later.

As Vladimir came close a few inches from the portal, his heartbeat quickened. There was a mixture of fear and excitement swirling inside him. He focused his mind, determined to prove his theory but as soon as he was about to lift his foot, his dragon slave shouted.

"My Lord! Please don't!"

His foot was hanging on the air as his head tilted to the source of that voice.

He wasn't paying attention to this slave of him earlier after he landed on the ground thus he didn't know when he had recovered from the pain but he could see that his little slave was crawling in difficulty towards him.

He glared at him sharply. "What?"

"I'm afraid that you..." The slave was only showing his deep concern. He wanted to explain what he just experienced as he also feared that same thing would happen to Vladimir but he couldn't even speak the words he wanted to say as soon as his eyes meet his cold and murderous gaze. He gulped nervously while shaking his head as his eyes darted to his lifeless fellows not far away. "My Lord, there seemed to be something in that..."

"Something? You've gotta be kidding me!" Vladimir refused to listen to the slave's warning. In his mind, the little decoy of his was just trying to discourage him. He sneered as he spoke arrogantly. "I am the King of Aerouant Kingdom. I am invincible and most feared among creature in this Realm. I can shake this entire Realm in just a lift of my finger. Do you seriously think that I might suffer what you have suffered? What could possibly happen to a mighty king like me?"

Listening to Vladimir's speech of solemnity, the slave went speechless. He couldn't bring himself to speak anymore thus he only lowered his head on the ground and pursed his lips. 'I really hope that nothing would happen to you, My Lord!'

He shut his eyes helplessly unable to watch the next possible event otherwise, Vladimir would carved his eyes out if he happen to witness something that might embarrass him. That would be so terrifying!

Vladimir has never been reprimanded by anyone aside from his father before. He was his father that's why he tolerated his ranting most of the time but now that he vanished from the realm, he would never allow such a low and worthless creature do the same thing. He had enough of it and he won't be needing another creature to spoil his mood .

He smirked. Satisfied with his slave's submission, he snorted coldly. "Glad that you're clever."

With that, he proceeded to take that single step.

The slave's eyes widened in horror. He looked at Vladimir, terrified. "My Lord!"

Vladimir blinked as he felt like he was being lifted in the air in such a high momentum. He felt suffocated as if something was grabbing the source of his breath. Every inch of his nerves stiffened causing his reflexes to deflate. He tried to wriggle his limbs but he couldn't move. These realization had his eyes widened and the last thing he know, he was floating in the air like a dry leaf. The ground shook as a thunderous roar echoed through the entire forest.

*****

Somewhere in Aerouant Kingdom...

In a cold and dark prison cell, a woman was laid unconscious on the ground.

The dim light from the torch in the hallways shone weakly, showing her fallible and slender figure.

Her delicate wrists and feet clamped by iron chains, showing marks of rust into her porcelain skin.

Outside stationed two bulky creatures with creepy faces, looking at their captive from time to time. Their eyes shone maliciously at the sight of the petite woman clad in iron shackles. If they hadn't been warned beforehand that they shouldn't touch her, they would have played this creature rather than staring at her for such a long time.

Moments later...

Sounds of chains rustling echoed on the thick walls catching the guards' attentions.

Mystica's lashes flutter as she shifted into another position in difficulty. She took a deep breath and an overpowering stench, mixed with a smell of rotting meat assults her nosetrils. Her brows furrowed as she tried to evade that stinking smell.

Since she had lost conciousness earlier, she wasn't able to define why she felt so terrible during her deep slumber until she felt like there were huge boulders weighing down in every inch of her body. It was so heavy. She could hardly move an inch.

Mystica thought that she might have been having a bad dream so she tried calling Darius. Usually, he would be by her side at one whisper of his name but she didn't get any response from him. She kept on mumbling but he never aswered.

Fed up, Mystica instinctively opened her eyes to have a clear sight but she froze as she realize something...
