Chapter 85 THE HINT

*'Why do I seem to feel that she's trying to avoid my question?'* He thought as he watched her fidgeting her fingers from time to time.

Antonia really felt uncomfortable with Vladimir's gaze thus she asked. *"What's wrong with you? Why are you staring at me like that?"*

*"Can't you just answer my question?"* He asked her again.

*'So he's adamant to know how I feel about seeing them together, huh?'* She thought as she summomned her courage to say something that would end their awkward conversation. *"Hmm, I don't feel betrayed but I feel upset."* She said.

Vladimir's brows furrowed in confusion. *"Upset?*"

She nodded. *"I've been hearing rumors around that you two are constantly seeing each other. That made me upset. Can't you at least minimize the-..."*

*"Fine."* He said, *"I will minimize the chances of our encounter if that would make you feel uncomfortable. Anything else?"*

Antonia's eyes flickred. *"What?"*

*"However, since were not going to see each other frequently, you should at least be here in her place."* Vladimir uttered.

*"What do you mean exactly by that?"*

He tried to give her a hint. *"We've been connected by mate bond for a long time. So, you should know if I was doing something unacceptable behind your back. I have restrictions towards the things that I couldn't have."*

*"Vladimir,"* She stared at him in deep confusion, *"...why are you telling me these? I never thought of you doing such an act."*

*"Forget it."* He sighed. *"You may go. I need to deal with something urgent."*

Antonia was about to leave when the chamber's door opened and a servant stormed in.

*"My Lord,"* He bowed while trembling in fear. *"Master Darius... He... He left with the little woman!"*

Its been a few days had passed, Darius and Mystica were living peacefully in Azure forest.

Even if his abilities were restricted, he seemed fine by it.

However, for some unknown reason, Mystica felt restless.

She frequently woke up in the middle of the night due to some dreadful dreams she couldn't figure out and she wasn't able to sleep again.

*'What was that? Why do I kept on dreaming those things?'* she thought with a deep and complicated sigh.

Darius felt her movements and he also woke up. Seeing his mate in a state of daze, he became worried.

*"What's wrong? Is there something bothering you?"*

She sighed deeply and went. *"I don't know. I felt something I couldn't explain."*

He cupped her face, urging her to talk, *"tell me what is it, okay? Do you feel sick? Uncomfortbale somewhere? Just tell me..."*

She shrugged her shoulders and sighed once again. *"I'm having dreadful dreams every night,"* she began. *"In those dreams, I feel that I'm part of it.*"

Darius seemed to pick up something from her words thus he asked, *"Do you see some familiar creatures in those dreams? How about the surroundings? Can you see it clearly?"*

Mystica thought for while and after a brief moment of silence, she shook her head. *"All I can recall was... Was the trees and plants withering. Then there's a mellow voice calling a strange name from afar..."*

Darius fell silent as he couldn't also give her a definite illustration of her dream but he was certain that it might be a part of her past. *'Could this be a hint that her family was now searching for her? Should I try to look into it?'* He thought.

Meanwhile, Mystica had a sudden thought of the past events during Darius' absence.

*"That wasn't a dream. It actually appeared when I made a wish..."* She grumbled under her breath, while looking into the darkness.

*What were you thinking?"* Darius couldn't heard what she said but he seemed curious.

Mystica then told him about the fireflies in the river before she got sick but she intentionally hid the part that she and Lucille was facing such a difficult situation at that time for she was afraid that he might fumed in so much anger.

Moments later...

*"Did you just said that you saw a massive fireflies at the river?"*

She nodded as she narrated happily. *"Yes. They were so beautiful and they light up the entire river for me and Lucille at that night."*

Darius recalled the first time of their encounter where she fell into a deep slumber...

*"Are you perhaps in trouble? How did they appear?"* He asked more and she happily replied.

*"I remember closing my eyes and making a wish then I saw them coming."*

Darius stared at his mate with deep and complicated thought. *'Are they really fireflies or fairies? What's going on? Could it be that she belong to that kingdom?'*

He was reluctant at first as he felt scared. If that was the case, then they couldn't be together just like how his parent's desired. They're creatures from different kingdom and something like this never existed before.

He also felt restless and there's only one thing that could make him feel at ease. He has to try to look for answers and after that, he would deal with the rest.

When the sun rise, Darius thought of taking Mystica somewhere after eating their meal.

*"Where are we going?"* She asked him.

*"That would be a surprise."* He said, *"Somewhere that would make you smile."*

Mystica seemed excited thus she gobbled down everything in her plate. However, a sudden thought flashed in her mind and her movements halted.

*"What if they were searchng for you again? We would get caught and we would be forced to go back to your kingdom."* She said.

*"Are You scared?"* He asked her directly.

She nodded in silence.

*"I almost forgot about that."* He grinned and asked. *"Shall we delayed our plan then?"*

*"Maybe some other day?"*

He laughed. *"Alright. Let's spend some days together before going somewhere."*

*"We should!"* She seconded. *"We never know what tomorrow brings us so we should cherish every moments of being together. I may not be able to recall my past so I'm desperate of making new memories about us."*

Darius just nodded in agreement.

Indeed, neither him nor her had the ability to predict their future. However, he swore to himself that he would beat every obstacles just to be with her even if it means to leave everything behind.

It won't be easy as he knows how his father would react about his decision. *'He was surely searching for me now and I can't let them find me. Not when I'm not ready to leave Mystica's side. I needed her more than anything else in this Realm. I won't be able to go on living without her!'*
