Chapter 81 THE ABILITY TO FORSEE

The next morning, the sun was already shining brightly. However, two creatures remained snuggling, oblivious to the warm atmosphere.

Mystica stirred into another position and Darius jolted up from his slumber, breathing heavily.

His eyes skimmed at the corners of his chambers then after a brief moment he sighed in exasperation. It seems like he was expecting something out of nothing as he looked obviously frustrated when he realized where he was.

'*It was just a dream? We didn't left the castle?*' He thought as he rubbed his eyes a couple of times just to make sure that he wasn't hallucinating. '*Why does that feel like surreal?*'

Mystica then opened her eyes and she witnessed how he appeared baffled while staring to oblivion thus she asked, "*Is everything okay, Darius? "

He gave out a slight nod. "*Yes, I'm fine. How about you? Do you feel better now?" He also asked her.

"*Yeah, I feel so much better now.*" She replied then she looked at the window. Her eyes grow wide, "*Darius, you're late for work!*" She sounds horrified then she tried to move but Darius yanked her back to their bed. She stared at him in confusion. However he quickly explained.

"*I'm not going to work today.*" He mused, "*Let's prepare special for dinner. I want to invite my family to dine with us here in our tower, Would that be okay to you, hmm?*"

Mystica, though reluctant to share the same table with his parents, nodded after swallowing hard. "*Of course. That's fine by me."

"*Okay. Let's get moving.*" He suggested as he released her. "*Wait here. I'll go get our breakfast.*" He said before he turned around and left her sight.

Mystica gave out a quick nod as she seemed to feel stranged with his behavior. '*Why does his behavior kept on changing these days? What's wrong with him?*' She thought curiously.

Moments later, Darius came back with a golden tray held in his hands. It was filled with their food. Then they began digging into their separate plates.

After eating their sumptous meals, they fixed themselves, ready to go out. However, Darius was summoned to the west side of the castle by Vladimir and Antonia therefore, he left Mystica for a while in his tower and he went alone to meet his parents.

He had just landed on the balcony when Antonia meet him halfway.

"*I thought you're already in the office.*" She said.

"*I took a day-off.*" Darius replied as he stormed into his parents' living room then he projected his gaze towards his father who was currently reading a piece of old paper. "*Why am I here?*" he asked.

Vladimir looked up then he gestured his hand towards the empty seat across him. "*Take a seat...*" He said as he pushed the piece of paper to his front. "*I want you to take a look at this, Darius.*"

He held the piece of old paper, asking. "*What's this?"

"*Why don't you read what's inside?*" Vladimir urged.

Darius stared at the piece of paper silently. After a brief moment, he shoved it back to his father's front and said, "*I don't understand what's written in there.*" Then he stood up from his seat, adding. "*I need to go. I have an urgent matter to attend to.*"

Vladimir sighed heavily and went, "*Darius, I know that you understand everything written in the scroll. It has to happen otherwise the entire kingdom would suffer!*"

Darius glared at his father. "*Do you expect me to cut off the mate bond between me and Mystica then carry on to this betrothal thing?! You of all the creautures here know that cutting off the mate bond isn't as easy as you think!*" He argued, "*Furthermore, it says that the heir to the throne of Aerouant Kingdom is fated to the heir of the SYLPH Kingdom, then this going to be perfect!*"

"*Darius, what do you mean?*" Antonia chimes in, wide eyed. "*Are you saying that you're rejecting what's written in the prophecy?*"

"*Since the qualified candidate in the prophecy is the heir to the throne then I am willing to give Arthur a chance.*" He said, "*...he hasn't found his mate, isn't it? He will make the prophecy happen.*"

Vladimir glared at his son as he spoke, "*Can you even hear yourself? The prophecy has long been waiting and now that the right time comes, you're telling us that you're not the one stated in the prophecy?!*" He was angered by his son's blatant refusal therefore he gnashed his teeth and added, "*If you dared to ignore this matter and chose that mere creature, I won't .just sit back and watch this kingdom turn to ashes!*"

"*Darius!l*" Antonia shouted out in horror. "*Take what you said! Don't be ridiculous!*"

"*Let's talk some other time.*" Darius said, ignoring his mother. "*I need to deal with something urgent.*"

"*Darius!*" Vladimir shouted but his son had gone out of the balcony and flew away.

"*Vladimir, What should we do?*" Antonia sounds anxious while pacing back and forth. "*We must find another way to make him agree!*"

"*I'll go talk to Ralph. Perhaps he can suggest another idea to make Darius agree.*" He said then he walked out of her sight, leaving her alone.

Darius went back to his tower to pick Mystica up. It seems to him that he was brought back to this situation before! '*I didn't know that I was able to dream of this. This time, its going to be real!*' he thought as he approached his sleeping mate.

Vladimir's revelation made him realize that he has to move fast. Knowing that he had pissed him, he would surely do something to make him yield and agree! Having such thought, he wanted to elope with Mystica as he couldn't accept to be betrothed to the heir of SYLPH Kingdom. Moreover, he doesn't want to hurt his mate by replacing her with another creature who he hadn't known its existence!

"*Mystica, wake up...*"

"*hmmm...*" she stirred into another position and Darius continued to tap her arm.

"*Sleepy head, you have to wake up. I'm taking you somewhere..." he whispered lovingly on her ears.

"*Darius, what took you so long?*" she asked him while rubbing her eyes.

"*Let's talk later. Come, let's go." He urged her.

"*...where?*"

"*To Azure Forest...*" he curtly replied.

Mystica's eyes gleamed with inexplicable joy as she asked, "*Are you serious?*"

"*Yes. And were not leaving that place anymore. We will start our new life together in Azure Forest." He said firmly.
