Chapter 50: Exams
It was all thanks to Kai that his father had to be on toes for sometime in order to stabilise the situation in the company. Of course Kai cold watched from the sides as if he was enjoying the show.
Time flew by and within no time, many things had changed in that one month. Kai, had decided that in order to let Lomesa not to dominate in his mind, he decided to avoid her. Thus, he would always deliberately stay late before leaving his house after estimating the time. He didn't want to have a chance encounter with her again. However, no matter how much he avoided her, the figure in his mind of Lomesa, only grew vivid as days went by. It was true to say that The past few weeks has been very torturous to Kai. However, there was nothing he could do. about it. After all, he had chosen that path himself. Thus, he was only allowed to yearn and long but not really see her. Kai could only pray that she would be around on the day of banquet. He really longed to See her. He was always wondering about how she was doing all this while, fortunately, when he sent Alexis to check, he found out that she was doing really good, infact, she was busy studying for the end of term examination, only five months remained before she sat for her college entrance examinations. Only then would she have turned eighteen and of the right age. That was what he was waiting for. Only then would he be able to make a move. Thinking of this, Kai's lips curled into an evil smirk. He would let her play for a few months, after all, when he got her, he couldn't guarantee whether she would be alive or not by the time he let her go.
However, even though Alexis had given him reassuring answers about her, he couldn't help but worry again. He didn't know if she was in good health. Afyer all, the last time he saw her, she looked pale and thin, even wind could knock her out, how could he not worry when her appearance alone was enough to make him worry for the next few days? Even though he was super worried, he had no choice . He had already sworn not to see her until the day of the banquet. Fortunately, the day of the banquet was in three day's time. He could only patiently wait until then.
Lomesa was busy answering questions on the maths test paper that had been given to her. Fortunately, in her previous lifetime, these were the very questions that were set. How could she not be happy? Moreover, she had just noticed that she seemed to have a photographic memory ever since she was reborn, coupled with the knowledge of the questions set in her previous life, she only needed a little revision and that would be it. The paper was supposed to take two and a half hours, Lomesa handed in her paper after forty five minutes. Thus made the invigilator look at her with contempt. She really hated people who didn't take their studies seriously. On the other hand, when people saw that Lomesa had already handed in her answer sheet, they felt discouraged. The test was too difficult, they couldn't even answer half of the questions, yet Lomesa actually handed handed in her paper. The invigilator looked at her watch and announced to the class that there was still an hour and a half left before the time ended. They immediately heaved sighs of relief at that and focused on answering the questions set. Only Logan amd Rollins stared at Lomesa's back meaningfully. They always had a feeling that Lomesa had Been hiding her full potential. They knew that the day was finally here, the day where the phoenix, Lomesa, would begin soaring so high that no one would be able to surpass her in Emerald high school. Rollins and Logan looked at each other silently and smiled. They couldn't wait for the show to begin!
After Lomesa got out of the class, she immediately looked for a shade and sat down on the bench. She felt a little bit sleepy and since the place was somewhat cool and safe, she fell asleep in a daze. She was only awakened by the sound of the bell ringing. She knew it was time to head home. Thus, she met up with her group and they left together. Afger watching her group get into their family cars, she and Emma went and boarded the cars that were packed at the sude near the gate.
Speaking of which, Lomesa noticed that Mr Baker's (Allison) attitude had turned for the better ever since she took her life seriously. He had gone back to being the warm and gentle teacher that she always knew. She was glad that his attitude was temporary. After all, in the entire Emerald high school, the only teacher who left a good impression on Lomesa was Mr Baker, how could she allow him to look at her with such a cold gaze? Thus, when hi attitude returned to normal, Lomesa also smiled brightly from time to time. She honestly didn't wabt to make an enemy out of Mr Baker. Actually, she wanted him to be her friend. A genuine friend at that.
At home, Valeria was doing the assignment that the private tutor had left her. That's right, Lomesa had looked for a private tutor for Valeria, this was after she consulted with the little kid and she accepted it. Thus, Lomesa was happy to know that she was very cooperative. this was a great sign. That just meant that they young girl was slowly recovering from her autism. That way, she wouldn't have to cower and remain hiding at home because she was too scared of facing people. Actually, this was always a thorough I Lomesa's heart. Children were supposed to socialize with other children, how could it be enjoyable when one of them was always copped up at home without anything at all and assuming that she would be fine? Every kid deserved to undergo all stages if growth and development, otherwise, who knew when her childish side would erupted in the future? A stage in which she didn't get to experience when she was young? Now, seeing Valeria's cooperation, Lomesa was very sure that she would be able to take her time kindergarten the following year. Only a month remained for the year to end after all.
Lomesa ruffled Valeria's head happily and went upstairs in a good mood. She went into the bathroom to take a shower. Looking at her beautiful appearance after removing the ugly make up on her face, Lomesa smiled brightly. She wanted to see how Samantha's face would look at that time. Just thinking about how Samantha's expression would be hideous and twisted made Lomesa laugh out loud. It was clear that she was in a good mood. After showering, before she got out of the bathroom, she applied the ugly make up on her face first. Right, she wanted to give people a surprise on the day of the banquet. She had not shown anyone her real appearance yer. Everyone felt that she was ugly and unsightly. Lomesa was waiting to slap their faces in three day's time. That way, she would have somehow gotten her revenge to those people who kept calling her an ugly freak. Of course, Lomesa believed in the doctrine of an eye for an eye. If one treated her badly, she would definitely pay them back tenfold. However, if someone treated her well, she would definitely reciprocate. That wasn't a problem with him. After all, geniunty has been a rare thing to find nowadays. After all, it was either someone approaching you for their family's personal gain or for their own selfish interests. Lomesa had long seen through All these types of people. After all, she had already lived her first life, how could she not have learnt her lesson? Her death alone was enough to teach her very many lessons. She had bedn very blind and too trusting that she had been schemed against by the people she considered very close, more like her family. She had also pushed away the people who always thought about her in a positive way, she wondered just how stupid she had Been. Did the people who cared for her at that time feel so sad when she distanced herself from them? She reckoned that they did. She had just tasted that feeling when Mr Baker started treating her coldly because she was disregarding her life. Thinking back, Lomesa didn't know whether she should applaud her stupidity or if she should feel sorry For herself. Anyway, one thing was clear to her, she would never allow anyone to dictate her life..She would never be led astray again, after all, she had just awoken from her nightmare not long ago, didn she want to go back to those hellish days in the past? of course not, infact, she was about to start her path to revenge.
She looked forward resolutely and muttered;
'Payback time!'
