Chapter – 5
Hiya's POV
I want to say sorry to Rishav but after waking up I haven’t seen him till now. God knows where he has gone this early morning.
I feel bad for yesterday night's behaviour. I should not have behaved that way. But what could I do? I felt anger towards him and also at God.
He (God) snatched my parents when I was only 9 years old. When I was thinking about my future studies suddenly out of nowhere this Rishav came and destroyed everything.
My thoughts broke when a maid came into my room and informed me about some rituals. According to that ritual I have to make a sweet dish for my in-laws.
Wow! (sarcastic) now another problem has arrived. Make a sweet dish! I don’t even know how to boil water!
I have never entered the kitchen for making anything. I have only entered to eat. When my parents were alive I was little so I wasn’t allowed in the kitchen. And in my bua's house, it was also the same. My uncle never allowed Diya di or me in the kitchen. He used to say a kitchen is not the place for his Princesses.
Yes, I was also his princess. He calls me little princess. I know I am still his princess. I know he still loves me. But when he had to choose between Diya di's future and mine, he chose Diya di's .
Perhaps this marriage is not making me any suffer but I am not emotionally ok for this. This has somehow hurt my dignity, my feelings.
Now I don’t have time to think about any of those. I am a little scared. What will I say to them that I don’t even know how to boil water! I have never set foot in the kitchen!
Though this is a fake marriage, just a mere contract marriage but not for Rishav grandparents. For them, this ritual must be very important. O God save me!
Third person's POV
Hiya entered the kitchen and wondered what will she do? She only knows how to eat yummy dishes.
When she was in her deep thought someone kept a hand on her shoulder. She looked back and saw Rishav standing with a grinned face.
Hiya gave an inquired look. She didn’t understand why Rishav is giving her this kind of expression.
Rishav took out two tiffin boxes from behind while making a “Ta-da” sound in his mouth.
HIYA : What is this?
RISHAV : Kheer ( Indian sweet dish). Your problem is solved.
HIYA : where did you get this from?
RISHAV : That is none of your concern. You just serve this to everyone saying it is made by you.
Keeping the boxes on the kitchen counter, Rishav left without giving any more explanation.
Hiya rolled her eyes hearing Rishav's reply. She knew from where this kind of answer was coming. He was using her words to her.
But she was confused about the Kheer. Her confusion didn’t last long when she opened the lid of the container and the familiar aroma of the kheer hit her nose tile. Tasting one spoonful of kheer confirmed her guess. That kheer was made by none other than her bua, Ragini.
Hiya's POV
I know bua cares for me. Some relatives are also present in the house. If today I can not make any dish it will be embarrassing for me. Besides Rishav's grandparents are also present. His Grandma is very not a very kind woman. She will definitely taunt me for not being able to make any dish. My bua never wants me to feel embarrassed or humiliated.
But I don’t want to deceive them. It doesn’t matter if his grandparents don’t like me. I am not his real wife. It would be better if they dislike me. They will feel less hurt when they find out the truth.
Yes, that is a good idea. I will not present any dish in front of them. Maybe I have to face some embarrassment or maybe humiliation. But it’s ok. I will not deceive anyone any more.
