Here comes the Quints

We made our way to the hospital with the others behind us. Nash pulled up in front of the entrance and helped me out of the car. The contractions were coming quickly and painfully. He helped me inside, and I screamed, "Ah!" "A little help here! My wife is in labor!" He shouted as they rushed to me. They sat me in the wheelchair and wheeled me back. Nash gave them all my information as I screamed in pain. They took me back as the boys ran into the hospital. "This way," Noah yelled as he ran towards the door. "Sir! You can't go back there!" A nurse yelled, stopping them. "Like hell, we can't! Our brother and sister are back there," Nixon shouted, getting a weird look from the nurse. They pushed past her and ran to the room. They had me in the bed and hooked up to monitors. "Get these babies out of me!" I yelled at everyone. "We're working on it, baby girl," Nash said, trying to reassure me. Nixon walked over, and I grabbed ahold of his shirt. "Get these babies out now!" His eyes widened as my voice had gone low and unrecognizable. "Jesus, she turned into the exorcist," Nathan commented. I released Nixon and glared at Nathan. He stepped back. "Oh, come on, guys, have some compassion," Noah said as he walked over to me. I grabbed ahold of him and shook him as a contraction came. "A little help here!" Noah's head was rattling around as the brothers tried to release my death grip on him. "Mags, let go!" Nash ordered me to try to release my death grip on Noah's shirt. "I will kill you!" I shouted at him. "No, you're not!" He yelled back at me. "You freaking did this to me! Ow!" I screamed as another contraction hit. I released Noah, and they all went flying backward. I screamed as they all got up and scrambled around. "Dude, you are so getting fixed," Nixon told him. "As soon as the babies come, I will," Nash agreed with him. Everything they tried doing didn't work. A bedpan went flying past Nolan's head as he ducked. He turned and looked at me. "What was that for?" He barked at me. "For stealing my bras, you little asshole! Ah!" I yelled at him. Then I grabbed something and whipped it at Nathan, hitting him in the head, "Sonofabitch!" He yelled as he rubbed his head with his palm. "That's for stealing my journal and reading it in front of the school!" I grabbed something else and threw it at Noah, smacking him in the junk. "Holy hell!" He dropped to his knees, groaning. They watched him fall. "Guess he won't need to get fixed," Nixon remarked. "That's for your stupid pranks!" Then I grabbed Nixon by his crotch. "Mother of God! Let go!" He screamed in pain. "And you! That's for being a complete douche to me!" Nash grabbed my hand and tried to get me to release it, "Mags! Let go of Nixon!" I let go of him and grabbed him, yanking him onto the bed. I glared at him. "Get these babies out of me, or you're next!" His eyes widened as I shoved him away. They needed to come out. I was so done. Nolan ran to get the doctor, and he was on his way into the room. He ran inside and took a seat to check me. "Doctor, please get them out!" I begged him. "That's what we will do. Because the quints are coming." He stood up and looked at me. "Looks like they are ready to make their debut. Let's have some babies, shall we?" He made a call, and a whole staff ran to my room. The boys tried to sneak out, and I begged, "Please don't leave me!" They all stopped and turned back around, walking back over to me. Nash looked at the doctor. "Is it okay if my brothers stay?" "At this point, if it will keep her calm, yes, but I need you all to change into scrubs," he ordered them. The nurse-led them to a room and handed them all scrubs, which they all changed into for the delivery room. As they headed back to the room, Nixon looked at Nash. "Let's go meet your babies, Dad." The five of them left the room and walked down the hallway with Nash in the middle. It was a sight to see as the Gray brothers made their way to my room. They walked in, and Nash walked behind me then held me up. My legs were up, and the doctor was getting ready. The brothers stood on each side of me as the doctor said, "Maggie, I need you to push. We got five babies to deliver. Now push!" I pushed hard as the doctor worked and pulled out the first one, a girl. He gave me a minute then ordered me to push another one came, another girl. He cut her cord. Then once again, I had to push. Another one came, and it was a girl. He cut the cord and had me push back. The fourth one arrived, and it was a girl. I was so tired, but we needed to get the last one out. The baby was stubborn, not wanting to come out. The doctor peeked around and said, "Maggie, your last one is stubborn. I need you to push." "I can't, Doctor. I'm so tired," I cried. "Maggie, listen to us, push. Bring the last one into the world," Nixon assured me. "But I am so tired," I answered, not having it in me anymore to deliver another one. "Maggie, please, just one more," Nathan reassured me. "But I can't," I sobbed. "But you can. We know you. You can do this," Noah coached me. I'm exhausted, as Nolan said, "Come on, we will help you." The four of them moved behind me as Nash added, "We're behind you, baby girl. You can do this. If we have to hold you up, we will. Keep going. I know you're tired, but it's the last one." I nodded as they pushed me up, and I pushed screaming, then I felt something come out and a cry. The last one was a boy. He cried, and I closed my eyes. Nash looked at me. "Mags! Mags! Open your eyes!" "She's crashing! Get out of the way!" The doctor yelled as they pushed the brothers out of the way. They worked on me then rushed me out of the room. Nash placed his hands behind his head and fell to the ground as his brothers gathered around him. They took care of the babies as the boys consoled Nash. A code announced, and Jasper's pager went off. He looked at them. "I got to go." He ran through the doors and made his way towards the code. "Scrub up, Dr. Nichols," the nurse ordered him. "What happened?" He asked her. "Patient crashed in the delivery room," she said as he raced to change and scrubbed in. He held up his hands, and they placed gloves on him than a mask. He pushed the doors open and saw me, "Maggie." He walked over and started to assist the doctor. They hooked me up to a ventilator as they worked. They gave blood transfusions to me as they worked to stop the bleeding. "We will give her a hysterectomy," the doctor informed them. "But if you do, she won't have kids anymore," Jasper told him. "If we don't, she won't live to see her children. I think her family would prefer her to be here, don't you, doctor? Now, let's get to work," the surgeon mentioned as Jasper nodded while assisting him. With that, they worked on me. While I was in surgery, Nash wouldn't look at the kids taken to the NICU. "Nash, you got to go see your kids, man," Nixon reminded him. "Not without Mags," he said. They stood there as he said, "Nix, can you do me a favor?" "Anything," Nixon answered. "Can you say a prayer for her? Please?" "Sure," he answered. Nixon grabbed his brother's hands and said a prayer. "Dear Lord, please watch over our sister. Keep her safe and bring her back to us, to her babies. Lord, hear my prayer and protect her, amen." They all stood there and waited with Nash. I opened my eyes and looked around. I was in the field. The sun was bright, and the wind blew across the grass, then I saw someone. I walked over, and they turned around, granddad. "Grandpa?" I said as I walked towards him. "Hello, Maggie," he greeted me. "But you're dead. Does this mean…" "No, you're in surgery. There was a complication. The doctor had to take care of it. But you need to know they did it so you can return to your family," he reassured me. "I miss you, Grandpa," I said to him. "I know, sweetheart, but I also know you're where you're supposed to be. Grayson fulfilled his promise to me." "What?" I looked at him, confused. He smiled. "Let's just say, it wasn't a coincidence you met the Grays and Nash." I looked at him as he smiled, then walked away, disappearing off into the distance. Then I heard a voice, "Mags. Come back to me. Please, baby girl." With that, I turned and walked towards the sound.
